I was extremely tired I think saying tired is an understatement I had to pull an all nighter for 2 days we were about to get a huge investor so I was reviewing and correcting everything I had to make sure everything went smoothly.
"I should head home. I still have to be in the right frame of mind tomorrow. I can't be the one to make this deal not work out," I mumbled, arranging my things.
Just then, I received a phone call from the last person I wanted to talk to. I stared at my phone, contemplating if I should pick up or not. I probably should pick it up. I knew I was going to regret it if I didn't.
"Good evening, dad," I greeted, trying to sound as cheerful as possible.
"What took you so long to pick up?" He snapped, ignoring my greetings. I took a deep breath before answering.
"I was busy with something. I apologise if that made you angry."
"Humph, I'm already used to your insolence. Why would i be angry?" He retorted. "Come over tomorrow. We have something to discuss."
"Wh..." He hung up before I could say anything. Come home? Why? For some reason, I had a very bad feeling about this meeting. Nothing good ever came out from me meeting them. Oh well, I'll just leave that for me to worry about tomorrow right now. I needed rest.
It took me about an hour for me to arrange everything and finally get to my villa and another hour to fully get ready to sleep.
I tried sleeping, but what Dad said wouldn't stop ringing in my head. I kept turning and tossing around, trying to fall asleep. This was not good.
What did they want to talk about? Have i done something wrong?
When i finally did, i had the same nightmare again.
4 year old me laughing happily with Mom and Dad. I don't know why I couldn't see their faces clearly, but i was sure it was them.
"Sienna, we love you," Mom said, hugging me tightly. I just giggled. "Love you too, Mom," I replied.
Then the scenery changed, our car was suddenly flying off the road. Mom tried to reach out to me but couldn't.
"Sienna, we are sorry."
"Mom, no..." I yelled, waking up
Every single time I woke up like this, I didn't know what this nightmare was or why I was having them, but it's definitely related to the accident I had years back.
It was already morning. I guess I spent the entire night over thinking, and the little time i had to sleep was interrupted by that nightmare.
"I hope I do well for this presentation," I thought, sighing.
I stood up and then proceeded to do my morning routine before heading straight to the bathroom. It didn't take a lot of time before I came out.
I decided to go for a more formal wear since today was special. i picked a black business suit with accessories and, of course, black heels.
I didn't do much with my hair. I just brushed it a little, then allowed to fall. I didn't have the time to eat, so soon I was on my way to work.

"Good morning Ma'am" my secretary greeted as I walked in. I just gave her a curt nod walking inside my office.
"Is everyone ready?" I asked
"Yes, Ma'am," she replied, making me nod.
"Good."

We ended up getting the contract and as a reward I told them to take the day off to celebrate while I took care of somethings I didn't realise how much time had passed and now I was on my way to my parents place.
Honestly, if I had a choice, I would not come here, but I didn't, so I had to come.
I can't remember the last time I went there. I tried as much as possible to avoid going there, and they seemed to not mind since they didn't want me to come either, so it was nice.
I guess my luck has run out.
It wasn't long before I got there. As I drove in, it was almost as if i was driving into my own death.
I parked the car and sat there for another 5 minutes before finally coming out.
I walked into the house and headed for the living room where Mom and Dad and some other guy I hadn't seen before was waiting. It seemed like Mia was not around. That was actually a relief for me.
"I can see you took your sweet time to get here," Mom snickered. I said nothing and just quietly went to sit down.
"Okay, let's cut to the chase," Dad began "Sienna this is your Fiancé Kai Louis," he announced.
I just stared at him speechlessly before turning to face the guy who I barely knew.
He was staring at me with a faint sense of curiosity it made me feel uncomfortable.
"What do you mean Fiancé?" I asked, slowly turning to face Dad back he was smiling from ear to ear.
"Kai's Dad and i go way back we made a deal for our children to get married to each other although he is no longer alive I think it's only fair I fulfil that wish" he said I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Why were they like this to me? It wasn't as if i wasn't their daughter, so why?
"You guys are joking, right?" I asked, hoping against hope it was just them playing around.
"Sienna, you and I know very well. I am not one to joke around," he said. Of course, I knew which is why this is even harder to believe.
I slowly stood up, staring at each of them in the room.
"Your guys are really going to be trash until the very end, right?" I said, coldly laughing a little.
"How dare..."
"You made the promise, so why can't Mia marry him? Why me?" I asked, cutting her off.
"Oh please, don't be dramatic. you're the eldest it's your responsibility," Mom replied.
I chuckled. "My responsibility?" I mumbled
Now I see. I will never be like a daughter to them. For them they had only ever had one child, and that was Mia. I was just a mistake they wished it had never happened.
"And if I don't?"
"You cease to be my daughter, and you lose everything, including your company," Dad replied.
