Chapter 12 - Recycling the Monster Corpses in the Forest

After joining forces with the members of the Flower-Feather Clan to eliminate the Abyssal monsters, the experience points went entirely to the players — the native people of Teyvat didn't share any of that XP.

That was exactly why Liang Chuan kept urging the players to help.

For every monster a player killed, he received 99% of the experience value!

There was no way he was letting these "workers" slack off.

Once the Flower-Feather Clan joined the fight, the Abyssal creatures in the forest were swiftly purged.

They had already repelled several such invasions before and were well-prepared.

Although there were some casualties, none were severe.

It wasn't until the Natlan War fully erupted — when every Abyssal Gate across the land opened — that the number of fallen Natlan warriors skyrocketed to nearly ten thousand.

Liang Chuan, along with the five surviving players, tagged along with the Flower-Feather Clan, leeching experience from their kills.

By the end, every player had reached Level 2, each gaining 100 XP.

That meant they had collectively handed 9,900 XP to Liang Chuan!

His level soared from 3 straight to Level 10.

To his surprise, reaching Level 10 unlocked a class transfer option.

After browsing through the available professions, Liang Chuan ultimately chose the class [Dragonborn].

The [Dragonborn]'s innate skill was [True Dragon Bloodline],

which granted +2 to all four core attributes per level,

plus an additional bonus point — a total of 10 attribute points per level!

A true all-round warrior.

Naturally, such a powerful class came with a balancing drawback —

until the True Dragon Bloodline fully awakened, the Dragonborn couldn't learn any active skills, fighting purely with physical combat.

And the awakening conditions were brutal:

the Dragonborn had to reach Level 100, undergo a Class Awakening,

and then acquire rare materials to complete the Bloodline Awakening.

If an ordinary player chose this class, it might feel great at first —

but later, when everyone else had a dazzling arsenal of abilities,

they'd still be stuck punching things to death.

The mental toll would be unbearable.

But Liang Chuan was different.

As the System's Host, the "Main Crystal" of this world,

he could access all player skills at will.

He didn't need to worry about being skill-less.

With his massive stats and access to any profession's abilities,

it wouldn't be long before he reached the power level of a "Descender."

"Apologies… we were too late."

The leader of the Flower-Feather Clan removed his hat, bowing solemnly toward the five neatly arranged player corpses.

"If we had split our forces earlier, this might not have happened."

"It's fine. They're not really dead. As long as they have enough bio-energy, they can respawn."

[IReallyEatBeef] waved his hand dismissively.

"Respawn…? So, you know a bit about Natlan customs."

The guild leader sighed.

"But not the full picture.

Natlans can return to life through the Ancient Name Inheritance,

guided by the Soul-Reclamation Hymns.

But outsiders…"

He trailed off, sighing again.

He couldn't bring himself to tell them that their friends were truly gone.

"You idiot," [BlazingFlame] muttered,

"you're telling an NPC about respawning with bio-energy — like they'd understand that."

"Enough chatter. Come help me move these monster bodies!

They're full of pure bio-energy!"

"Yeah! A whole forest full of monster corpses — if we haul them all back…"

[IReallyEatBeef]'s eyes gleamed with greed as he hurried over to assist.

The remaining three players quickly followed suit, joining the corpse-recovery team.

"What are they doing…?"

The Flower-Feather Clan leader watched in confusion as the players stuffed monster corpses into some kind of cylindrical device —

each body vanished on contact, leaving nothing behind.

"This is a purification device," Liang Chuan explained calmly from the side.

"It neutralizes Abyssal energy.

Processing monster corpses with it prevents corruption from spreading."

"Is there such a device?!"

The guild leader's face lit up in surprise.

"We've always worried about defiling the land while disposing of Abyssal remains.

With this, there's nothing to fear!"

"Let's bring our monster corpses here too!"

With a shout from the guild leader, all Flowerfeather members joined in hauling the carcasses.

That's when the players started protesting —

they were stealing their bio-energy profits!

After some heated negotiation, they reached a compromise:

the Flowerfeather members would carry the bodies to the base,

but only players were allowed to operate the purification device.

Watching from the side, Liang Chuan couldn't help but shake his head with a sigh.

Truly worthy of the title "players."

He exploited them — and now they were turning around to exploit the locals.

After an entire day of cleanup,

They finally finished recycling every monster corpse in the forest before nightfall.

"At last… it's done."

The Flower-Feather Clan leader exhaled deeply.

"You should come back to our settlement with us. It's too dangerous to stay here."

"Sorry, but we have to stay and guard this purification unit.

We can't leave it unattended."

Liang Chuan replied politely.

In truth, his [Bio-Energy Terminal] could be relocated anytime — dismantled or rebuilt at will.

Once upgraded to Level 2, he could even construct a second terminal, effectively setting a second respawn point.

After today's haul, his Bio-Energy Points had reached 960.

Leaving aside 10 points for resurrection,

He could summon up to 95 more players.

But if he ever set up the terminal inside the Flower-Feather Clan's base…

and they saw it constantly spitting out people one after another…

Liang Chuan would definitely be branded a cult leader on the spot.
