Chapter 18 - Raid Battle!

When Liang Chuan asked the system about it, there was no response at all.

It was as if the system had noticed his attempt to "freeload" more quest rewards and was quietly weighing the pros and cons.

A few seconds later…

System: [As long as the quest aligns with current player activity and fits the ongoing "storyline," it may be issued.]

"How exactly is it judged whether a quest 'fits' or not?" Liang Chuan pressed.

System: [Determined by the system.]

"..."

So in other words, whether a quest could be released or not depended entirely on its whim.

"Can I at least publish a daily monster-hunting quest?" he tried again, unwilling to give up.

The moment he finished speaking, a clear ding echoed in every player's mind.

[Daily Commission Released!]

Daily Commission Activated — [Monster Cleanup]

Objective: Defeat any 5 monsters.

Rewards: EXP ×100, Silver Coin ×1

As soon as the notification appeared, most of the players inside the base looked utterly bewildered.

Seriously, bro…

If you were going to issue a monster-killing quest, you could've done it earlier!

If they'd known sooner, half of them would've joined that massive raid on the Hilichurl camp!

And the rewards weren't bad either—

Just one daily quest was enough for a level 1 player to hit level 2!

The ones who'd missed the raid sighed helplessly,

then grouped up into smaller parties and set out to hunt whatever monsters they could find.

Meanwhile, Liang Chuan continued experimenting with other daily commissions.

"'Evil Expansion'—no?

Then what about 'Shield Crisis'? Still no?

How about 'Meal Order'? …What do you mean there are no orders?!

I can't even give the food away to the Nata tribespeople?!"

Digging through his memory, he tried to issue a bunch of daily quests he remembered from Genshin Impact.

But one after another, they were all rejected by the system.

In the end, the only one that went through was an exploration quest.

Daily Commission Activated — [Exploration]

Objective: Explore 1000 meters of uncharted territory.

Rewards: EXP ×100, Silver Coin ×1

The players still lounging inside the base stared blankly at the prompt.

So now the daily quest was literally forcing them to go out and map the area?!

A bunch of players who had been happily tinkering with gear and items sighed, packed up, and left again.

They could ignore the monster-hunting quest, sure—

but exploration was so easy that skipping it would feel like a waste.

Once Liang Chuan confirmed there were no more quests he could issue,

He finally stepped out of the base.

He had his own task to handle—

constructing a second [Bioenergy Base].

In player terms… he was opening a branch base.

When the War of Natlan fully erupted,

Abyssal monsters would appear all across the region.

That meant player [Bioenergy Bases] needed to cover all of Natlan's territory,

with each area having enough players stationed for support.

"The first [Bioenergy Base] is at the Flower-Feather Clan.

Then the second one should be set up near Basin of Unnumbered Flames," he muttered,

turning southwest toward that direction.

Some players spotted him leaving and immediately followed, insisting on protecting him.

Liang Chuan wanted to refuse,

but since his first absolute main quest literally required players to protect him,

he couldn't exactly chase them off.

Still, scouting a new settlement spot was easier alone—

bringing a whole crowd would just attract more monsters.

So he simply activated [Gale Step] and vanished from their sight in a blur.

At their current level, no player could possibly catch up to him.

Thanks to the players' hard work, Liang Chuan had reached level 12.

His stats were as follows:

————————————

Name: Liang Chuan

Race: Human

Level: 12 (33%)

Class: Dragonborn

Constitution: 28

Strength: 17

Agility: 15

Spirit: 14

Remaining Attribute Points: 0

————————————

Of course, those were only his base stats.

By invoking passives from various player professions—

such as [Sturdy Physique] and similar buffs—

his true attributes skyrocketed.

Final Stats:

(Constitution 154, Strength 85, Agility 60, Spirit 42)

All four attributes had multiplied several times over!

And since the [Dragonborn] class granted the highest extra attribute growth among all professions,

his power scaled geometrically with each new level.

After shaking off the players, Liang Chuan headed south.

Before long, he caught up with the team led by [BlazingFlame].

Their target was a Hilichurl camp by the riverside.

Across that river lay the Basin of Unnumbered Flames region.

"So if I don't clear out that Hilichurl camp,

there's no getting into Basin of Unnumbered Flames without a fight," Liang Chuan murmured.

After some thought, he decided to observe from behind the player team.

If it turned out to be just ordinary Hilichurls, he could step in and lend a hand.

But if any Abyss Mages or Abyss Chanters showed up...

that would be far beyond what the current players could handle.

To play it safe, Liang Chuan kept to the rear.

"Up ahead is the Hilichurl camp! Everyone, take your positions!"

[BlazingFlame] shouted in the team chat.

"Tanks and warriors—front line, draw aggro!

Assassins—flank from the sides, go for the Samachurls and Archers!

Archers—prepare for a synchronized volley to open the fight!"

"Wait, what about the Mages?" someone asked.

"Mages… handle the rear support, keep the healing and buffs flowing!"

BlazingFlame waved his hand dramatically.

"Archers! FIRE!!!"
