Chapter 58 - Chapter 57: Kakashi’s Death

"Boruto, what did you just say?"

"Making a movie?"

"And you're putting the history of Pain's invasion of Konoha on the big screen?"

"Does Naruto know about this?"

At the hot spring sanctuary in Konoha, Kakashi Hatake—pushing Might Guy's wheelchair—looked at Boruto in astonishment.

"Dad knows," Boruto replied calmly, "and he plans to personally take part in the filming using a Shadow Clone."

He grinned. "But if you're not willing to participate, Kakashi-uncle, I'll just have one of my Shadow Clones play your part."

Kakashi sighed, rubbing his temples. "Using a Shadow Clone to play me? That's… certainly a bold idea. But still…"

Before he could finish, Guy suddenly leaned forward from his wheelchair, his face beaming with youthful excitement.

"Wait—are you recreating the Pain's Invasion battle?!" Guy's voice thundered. "Boruto! Tell me that's what you're doing!"

"Yes," Boruto nodded.

Guy's eyes lit up. "Then please—let me join! I was on a mission back then and couldn't fight Pain alongside Kakashi. That's one of my biggest regrets in life!"

"Guy…" Kakashi said, trying to keep his friend grounded. "You've only got one leg left. You should just enjoy your retirement."

"Kakashi!" Guy shouted dramatically. "Even with one leg, my youth hasn't ended yet!"

Boruto chuckled softly. "I'm sorry, Guy-uncle, but we're trying to keep the story as accurate as possible. We're only including those who actually fought during the invasion."

"Ah… so my youth really has faded," Guy sighed in disappointment.

"However," Boruto quickly added, "if we ever make a movie about you, I'll definitely invite you."

Guy immediately perked up. "Really? My youth burns once more!"

Kakashi tilted his head, half amused. "So, this movie… it's about my battle with Pain, huh? I remember dying once during that fight. Do I have to die again on camera? I am the Sixth Hokage, you know."

After a moment of hesitation, he sighed. "Alright. It's been a while since I stretched my muscles anyway."

Boruto's face lit up. "Kakashi-uncle, you agreed?! You're the first one! Everyone else told me to just use a Shadow Clone!"

Kakashi gave him a dry stare. "Great. I can't wait to see how gracefully you make me die."

Boruto grinned mischievously. "Don't worry—I'll make sure it's a beautiful death."

Kakashi's expression darkened. "That's… not comforting."

Boruto then silently invoked Krab's name. The space beneath his feet rippled like water, and a familiar figure emerged.

"Ah, your pet Krab," Kakashi observed. "It's one of Uchiha Shin's clones, right? Its space-time ability feels a lot like my Kamui."

Boruto nodded.

"Are we filming right now?" Kakashi asked, glancing down at his bathrobe. "At least let me change."

Moments later, Kakashi returned wearing his classic ninja gear and green vest, pushing Guy beside him.

Krab activated its Mangekyō Sharingan, and space warped around them. In an instant, the three vanished.

They reappeared in a desolate, ruined city.

"Where are we?" Kakashi asked, scanning the crumbling buildings.

"This is an abandoned city in the Land of Fire," Boruto explained. "The perfect set for our movie."

Guy wheeled himself back to give them space, eyes gleaming with anticipation.

Boruto unsealed a scroll, and nine cameras appeared in a flash of chakra smoke.

Kakashi blinked. "Where did you even get all these?"

"Sponsored by Konoha's richest man," Boruto said proudly.

Then, he transformed into Pain's appearance.

With a wave of his hand, he controlled the nine cameras with gravity—two floated above, two below, and the rest spread around the battlefield.

He created two Shadow Clones: one transformed into Iruka, crouching and ready to attack, while the other turned into a wounded villager lying on the ground.

Kakashi looked around, a wave of nostalgia washing over him. "This feels so real… it's like I'm reliving that day."

His eyes spun to life as he transformed into his younger self, ready for battle.

"Alright—action!" Boruto commanded.

Pain's black receiver glinted in his hand as he lunged forward.

Kakashi countered instantly, his Lightning Chakra flashing across his palm.

Sparks danced as he caught the rod, his Sharingan locking onto Pain's Rinnegan. The tension between them was palpable.

"Take the injured and get out of here," Kakashi said firmly. "He's mine."

With a sharp snap, he broke the rod in half.

Pain retaliated with a powerful kick, but Kakashi ducked and rolled with ease.

Their movements were fast—but not too fast; Boruto had calculated it perfectly so the cameras could keep up.

Kakashi weaved through hand seals, and three earth walls with dog-shaped faces rose around Pain.

Lightning gathered in his hand again—Lightning Blade!—as the next camera angle captured the explosive impact against Pain's Shinra Tensei.

The battle escalated. Lightning Wolves burst forward, Asura Path clones joined in, and the Akimichi father-and-son duo, Choza and Choji, entered the fray.

Everything flowed seamlessly—one long, stunning continuous shot.

From a distance, Guy watched, tears glimmering in his eyes.

"So this… this is the site of Kakashi's battle with Pain. Such burning youth!"

"It seems… I've reached my limit," Kakashi muttered, half-buried in rubble. "Obito… Rin…"

That marked the end of his scene.

Guy's eyes went wide. "Kakashi, you can't die!"

He rushed forward, shaking Kakashi's shoulders frantically.

"Stop—stop shaking me! You'll actually kill me at this rate!"

Kakashi stood up, brushing the dust off his vest.

"Guy, I can't handle your enthusiasm sometimes… but honestly, it feels good. Like we're back in the old days."

He turned toward Boruto. "So, am I done now? Because I really don't want to die again."

Boruto smiled slyly. "Not yet—there's still one more part."

"Oh?" Kakashi frowned. "What now?"

"The scene where you carry my dad," Boruto said. "Then we're done."

Kakashi paused, lost in thought for a moment. "That part, huh? Feels… nostalgic."

He exhaled softly, eyes distant, as if he were once again that man standing in the ruins of Konoha—fighting for everything he loved.
