Chapter 60 - Chapter 59: The Old Waste Is Still Alive

"This place really does look like Konoha after the destruction… it even has the Hokage Rock."

Naruto gazed at the familiar mountain wall in the distance, where the Hokage faces were carved in stone.

His expression softened with nostalgia before turning his attention to Boruto.

"I specifically took the day off today, Boruto. Didn't you say you wanted to start filming? Let's get going."

Boruto raised an eyebrow. "Does a Hokage even need a day off?"

Naruto sighed helplessly.

Boruto shook his head and formed a hand sign.

Five Shadow Clones appeared beside him, each transforming into a different body of Pain.

Pain Six Paths!

Naruto looked at the six Pains in front of him, then used his own Transformation Technique—changing into how he looked during his original battle with Pain all those years ago.

The cameras whirred to life, switching angles midair to capture every intense moment.

After two hours of filming, Naruto was finally pinned to the ground by black chakra rods—just like in the original fight.

At that moment, Krab arrived with Hinata.

Hinata stopped mid-step, stunned to see Naruto lying on the ground, restrained by the black rods.

"Naruto… you're…" she murmured.

"Hinata, you're here," Naruto said with a gentle smile despite his position.

Hinata nodded softly, then turned to Boruto. "Boruto, are we starting the scene now?"

"Yes, Mom. Let's begin."

Hinata inhaled deeply, transforming back into her younger self.

She recalled every word and emotion from that day, stepping naturally into character.

Boruto, playing Pain, lifted his hand coldly. "It's about time. I'm taking you with me."

Hinata sprinted from the distance, leaping high.

She struck with a single palm, forcing Pain back and landing protectively in front of Naruto.

Seeing her familiar stance, Naruto's chest tightened.

He couldn't help but shout, "Why did you come out here? Run! You can't win against him!"

Hinata looked over her shoulder with determination.

"This was my decision. I came of my own free will. Naruto changed me. Naruto's smile saved me."

"So even if there's a next time, I'll still stand by him—no matter what."

Boruto paused, feeling an odd pang in his chest at her words, but his expression as Pain stayed calm. "This is the second time, Mom."

Hinata's voice carried both warmth and resolve, echoing through the set like the past had come alive again.

Then came the scene where Pain effortlessly defeated Hinata.

Of course, it was only acting—but Naruto's fists still clenched, and for a moment, he nearly jumped up to punch Pain (Boruto) for real.

After Hinata's part wrapped up, filming continued for several more days with Naruto's Shadow Clone filling in the remaining shots.

When it was done, all that remained was post-production and editing.

Half a month later, Naruto: Clash of the Child of Destiny was complete—awaiting official approval before release.

"Wait, what does this mean?"

Boruto frowned, staring at Denki in disbelief. "Why didn't the movie pass the review?"

Denki scratched his head. "It's the review department. They said we have to delete all the scenes involving Danzo Shimura before approval."

"Danzo Shimura?" Boruto repeated, narrowing his eyes.

Of course—Danzo had appeared briefly in the film.

During Pain's invasion, Danzo had chosen not to act, letting Konoha burn so he could later seize the Hokage position.

Denki continued, "I found out it was an order from Konoha's two elders."

Boruto's brow furrowed. "The elders? What are their names?"

"Um… they're old-timers, really old-timers," Denki said hesitantly. "Something like… Mito—"

Boruto's eyes sharpened. "Homura Mitokado and Utatane Koharu?"

Denki nodded. "Yeah, those two."

Boruto blinked, dumbfounded. "You've got to be kidding me. Those two old geezers are still alive? They've been around since the First Great Ninja War!"

In a quiet, dignified pavilion in Konoha, Homura Mitokado and Utatane Koharu sat across from each other.

Their faces were deeply wrinkled, their bodies frail, skin sagging like ancient parchment.

On the table before them lay the Naruto: Clash of the Child of Destiny review report.

"The portrayal of Danzo Shimura in this movie is far too negative," Homura began slowly.

"It could stir unnecessary controversy among the villagers."

Utatane Koharu nodded, her lips trembling as she spoke.

"Exactly. The village is peaceful now. We don't need such drama disturbing that peace."

Suddenly, a distortion rippled through the air in front of them.

Space itself twisted—and Boruto and Krab stepped out.

"Space–Time Ninjutsu!" the two elders gasped in shock.

Boruto crossed his arms, eyeing them both. "So you are still alive. Seriously, how old are you two fossils? Do you even remember how to die?"

Utatane Koharu glared. "You're Naruto's son, aren't you? Such disrespect! You need to be taught some manners."

"Indeed," Homura agreed, slamming his cane on the ground. "Someone must teach this insolent brat a lesson!"

Boruto rolled his eyes. "No wonder you wanted Danzo's scenes cut. So it really was you two relics causing problems."

He sighed. "People who are one foot in the grave should really just stay there."

With that, two glowing Orbs appeared in his hands. With a flick, they shot forward.

"What—?!"

The elders tried to dodge, but their frail bodies couldn't react in time.

The orbs struck, and their eyes instantly turned blank and lifeless.

A few days later, both Homura Mitokado and Utatane Koharu were reported dead in their sleep.

The official cause: natural aging.

With their interference gone, Naruto: Clash of the Child of Destiny finally passed review.

On opening day, crowds packed the cinemas of Konoha. Lines stretched across the streets.

"It's finally showing! I've been waiting for weeks!"

"Yeah, it's Hokage-sama's first movie!"

"I saw the trailer—the battle scenes between the Seventh Hokage and Pain looked insane!"

The theater buzzed with excitement and chatter as the lights dimmed and the big screen lit up.

A powerful theme blasted through the speakers, instantly pulling everyone into that familiar, nostalgic world.

The opening featured a three-minute ink-wash animation—a beautiful retelling of Jiraiya's final journey to uncover the secrets of the Akatsuki.

"Jiraiya-sama…" an old ninja whispered, tears in his eyes. "I never thought I'd see you again, even in a movie."

On-screen, Jiraiya fought his last battle against Pain.

Goodbye… Jiraiya-sensei.

I won't give up. I'll never give up!

As Jiraiya's animated form fell into the ocean beneath somber music, the theater grew silent.

Many in the audience wiped their eyes, hearts aching with grief and pride.

As the narration softly concluded—"The sea does not welcome me. I, Jiraiya…"—the film transitioned into its main story.
