Song Jie immediately contacted Bai Tingting and explained the general situation.
After hearing it, Bai Tingting agreed without hesitation.

Just then, Jiang Shaoxu messaged him first.

"Does it pay?" Lingling asked bluntly.
"No money, but I can reward you with a kiss."
Before Lingling could react, Song Jie leaned over and pecked her cheek.
Lingling instantly wiped her face with a tissue, disgusted by the lingering saliva.
Just then, Mo Fan walked in.
"Brother Jie, Lingling—what are you two doing?" Mo Fan asked.
Song Jie replied casually, "We formed a team. Going to Blazing Wasteland North to catch a Flame Belle."
"Ah!? You're going secretly without me?!"
"No money. You going or not?"
"Brother Jie… what did you just say before that?"
"No money. You going or not?"
"Not that! The part before that!"
"We're going to Blazing Wasteland North to catch a Flame Belle."
Mo Fan froze.
Then forced a smile.
"Brother Jie, I wish you the best of luck in capturing the Flame Belle!"
But as he said it, he felt something precious had just slipped away from him.
Mo Fan had originally come to ask Lingling about bounty missions, but now he could only go look for one himself.
He also needed to find a Summoned Beast; his Summoning Element was already at Intermediate Level.
So he left immediately.
Arrival in Dunhuang
At the appointed time, Song Jie, Lingling, Li Rui, and Bai Tingting boarded their flight.
Arriving in Dunhuang, they quickly met up with Jiang Shaoxu.
She looked happy to see Song Jie—
but when she noticed he was surrounded by women, her mood instantly soured.
"Long time no see."
"Long time no see," she replied, visibly displeased.
Song Jie introduced everyone.
"These two are Bai Tingting and Li Rui, both students from Pearl Institute. And this is Lingling, the leader of our team."
Hearing they were just classmates, Jiang Shaoxu relaxed and greeted them politely.
"Hello, everyone. I'm Jiang Shaoxu, a Mind Element Mage."
After brief introductions, the group began their journey into the desert.
Into the Desert
The endless desert stretched ahead.
For people used to city life, it was a rare sight.
Heat waves shimmered across the sand. Sweat soaked their faces and clothing.
"Senior, are you thirsty? I brought water." Bai Tingting asked softly.
Since she was one year younger than Song Jie, calling him senior was appropriate.
"Not thirsty," Song Jie replied.
He glanced ahead—
a Hunter Squad had suddenly appeared.
Those men turned their heads and stared.
Five strong men… staring at Song Jie's group of five.
One man cursed, "Damn… that guy must be here to enjoy life."
In Song Jie's team, he was the only man.
As for the women:
Lingling — cute loli.
Li Rui — cold mixed-race beauty.
Bai Tingting — curvy healer.
Jiang Shaoxu — seductive charm.
All types in one party. Of course the hunters were jealous.
The two groups passed each other and continued on separate paths.
Sand Howl Tiger Territory
After a long walk, they reached the area Lingling had warned about.
"We've entered the territory where Sand Howl Tigers are common," Lingling said.
"Sand Howl Tiger… that's a Warrior-Level demon, right?" Jiang Shaoxu asked.
She had studied the area beforehand.
"Yes," Lingling answered, "but as long as they're not in groups, they aren't a threat to us."
Moments later, a deep roar echoed nearby.
"A Sand Howl Tiger already?" Bai Tingting trembled slightly.
"This one is very irritated," Jiang Shaoxu analyzed. "Be cautious."
Song Jie stepped forward confidently.
"It's fine. I love reasoning with demons. I believe it'll definitely be convinced by my logic."
Reason… with demons?
Jiang Shaoxu and Bai Tingting exchanged bewildered looks.
Humans and demons were natural enemies.
How could reasoning ever work?
The Sand Howl Tiger soon appeared, glaring at them.
"Don't move. I'll go reason with it," Song Jie said as he walked forward.
The women watched closely, curious how he planned to "reason."
"I'm someone who likes to convince others with logic. Are you unconvinced right now?" Song Jie asked the tiger.
The Sand Howl Tiger roared.
Song Jie smiled.
"Little Green."
"Little Black."
"Little Eagle."
"All come out."
Three spatial cracks snapped open.
Three Warrior-Level creatures stepped out—
and Little Black radiated Great General-Level pressure.
The Sand Howl Tiger froze.
This is called reasoning?!
The three creatures surrounded it, their aura pressing down hard.
It couldn't even breathe properly.
Lingling and the others immediately understood Song Jie's "method."
"Shameless," Lingling muttered.
Wasn't this just ganging up on one monster?
"Little Tiger, I prefer reasoning. You understand now, right?" Song Jie said with a smile.
The Sand Howl Tiger nodded rapidly—like a chick pecking at grain.
"Good. From now on, you'll be our guide."
Sand Howl Tiger: !?!?
