Chapter 168 - Chapter 167: Goddess Xue Panics

After the incident in Jinlin City concluded, Mu Nujiao, Mu Ningxue, and the others were all sent to the nearest city.

Their families soon came to pick them up.

Song Xia, who had narrowly escaped death thanks to Mo Fan's help, was also rescued in the end.

Song Jie watched Mu Nujiao, Bai Tingting, and the others leave. His gaze finally fell on Mu Ningxue and Mu Zhuoyun.

Upon seeing Song Jie, Mu Zhuoyun walked over enthusiastically.

"Xiao Jie, long time no see!"

"Uncle Mu, long time no see," Song Jie replied with a smile.

Previously, Mu Zhuoyun had been the head of Bo City's Mu Family, but now… this could very well be his future father-in-law!

Mu Zhuoyun smiled warmly. "I heard you saved Ningxue. Thank you so much."

At that moment, Mu Ningxue also walked over and gave Song Jie a polite nod.

"It was nothing," Song Jie said casually.

"Xiao Jie, what level have you reached now?" Mu Zhuoyun asked curiously.

"My Light Element has already reached the Advanced Level."

"Advanced Level! Excellent! Only after reaching that level can one truly spread their wings." Mu Zhuoyun smiled so happily that it was as if he had reached the Advanced Level himself.

"Do you two have something to talk about?" Mu Zhuoyun asked meaningfully, glancing at Mu Ningxue as though encouraging her to speak with Song Jie.

"Yes," Mu Ningxue answered softly.

"Then I'll wait for you over there. Come over when you're done." Mu Zhuoyun smiled and walked toward the car.

Mu Ningxue stood gracefully in front of Song Jie and said, "Thank you."

In Jinlin City, Song Jie had been called away before she had a chance to properly thank him.

"Just a 'thank you'?" Song Jie asked, his tone teasing.

"Ah?" Mu Ningxue blinked, confused by his words.

Song Jie grinned. "Bai Tingting thanked me by kissing me."

Mu Ningxue froze. She didn't quite know how to respond.

Kissed him?

Realizing what he was implying, her fair, elegant cheeks flushed pink almost instantly.

Seeing her reaction, Song Jie couldn't help but laugh. Sure enough—beautiful girls looked best when they were shy.

Of course, he knew that Mu Ningxue wasn't like Bai Tingting. After all, this was the aloof goddess Ningxue herself!

"I'm just joking. Uncle Mu is getting impatient—go on." Song Jie chuckled.

Mu Ningxue let out a quiet sigh of relief. For a moment, she had truly not known what to do.

"Thank you," she murmured again, before turning and walking away quickly—almost as if she were fleeing in panic.

Song Jie watched her go with amusement, then pulled out his phone. Just as he turned it on, Zhang Xiaohou's call came through.

"Brother Jie, I heard a rumor that Fan-ge is in trouble!" Zhang Xiaohou's anxious voice came from the other end.

"Don't worry. Mo Fan will be fine."

"Really? You're not lying to me, right?" Zhang Xiaohou pressed.

"Why would I lie to you? I can guarantee Mo Fan will be fine," Song Jie assured.

Hearing that, Zhang Xiaohou finally calmed down a little.

Even so, after hanging up, Song Jie couldn't help feeling a twinge of concern for Mo Fan himself.

Just then, Tang Yue's call came through.

"Song Jie, is Mo Fan in trouble?" Tang Yue asked urgently.

"He was forced to use a blood relic, and his whereabouts are currently unknown," Song Jie said calmly.

"Mo Fan…" Tang Yue sighed, clearly distressed. "Let's hope Zhan Kong can find him."

"I heard from Zhan Kong that you also used a blood relic?" she added after a pause.

"I did, but I should be fine."

"After your check-up with Zhan Kong, return to Lin'an immediately. You'll need another examination here," Tang Yue instructed firmly. "As for Mo Fan, don't worry. I trust Zhan Kong will handle it."

Song Jie wasn't worried about Mo Fan at all. That guy was probably out there hunting demons for essence orbs right now!

"Teacher Tang Yue, I already had a check-up there. Isn't that enough?" Song Jie asked.

"No," Tang Yue said sternly. "Whatever Zhan Kong did, I'll do again here."

Song Jie sighed. "Teacher Tang Yue, don't worry. My heart is always with you."

"Even if it is, that's not enough. I need to know your body's condition or I won't be at ease."

"Alright, alright," Song Jie surrendered with a laugh. "I'll do the check-up."

Two days later, Song Jie took a bullet train back to Lin'an.

The report from his check-up under Zhan Kong's supervision had already come out—nothing unusual. As expected. After all, he hadn't actually used a blood relic.

Zhan Kong also reminded him not to speak of this matter to anyone yet.

As soon as he arrived at his residence, Tang Yue appeared, immediately scanning him from head to toe.

"You, why did you run off to that place? What if something had happened? That Lu Nian is a High-Level Mage!" Tang Yue scolded.

Song Jie replied righteously, "Mo Fan and I are good brothers. Of course, I had to go save him!"

Tang Yue wasn't truly angry. She just couldn't help worrying about him. What if he had gotten hurt?

"Come on, I'll take you for a check-up," Tang Yue said, grabbing Song Jie's arm and pulling him along.

"Teacher Tang Yue, wait—can I at least put my things away first?" Song Jie said helplessly.

Two hours later, Song Jie reluctantly completed another check-up. The results came out quickly—exactly the same.

Tang Yue looked over the report and finally sighed in relief.

"See? Everything's fine," Song Jie said with a grin. "Teacher Tang Yue, we could even have a whole litter without any issues!"

Tang Yue pinched his arm sharply. "What nonsense are you spouting!"

"Hiss…!" Song Jie winced. This woman's grip was seriously strong!

"I'll give you a few days off," Tang Yue said. "Rest well at home and don't run around."

"Don't worry, I won't go anywhere," Song Jie promised.

"That's better." Tang Yue nodded, clearly still tired from the recent chaos.

Song Jie didn't let her escort him back because he still had another errand to run.

He hailed a taxi by the roadside and told the driver his destination.

Soon, the taxi stopped in front of a school.

Zhan Kong hadn't yet informed Mo Fan's family, so he asked Song Jie to help notify Ye Xinxia instead.

Song Jie had Ye Xinxia's contact information, so he quickly arranged to meet her.

He had just arrived at the girls' dormitory when he saw Ye Xinxia coming out in her wheelchair.

At that moment, a boy hurried over and reached her first.

"Xin Xia, are you going out? Need my help?" he asked with a smile.

Without waiting for her reply, he went behind her wheelchair and started to push.

"No need, I'm going to see a friend," Ye Xinxia refused politely.

"It's fine, I have nothing else to do anyway. I'll go with you," Liu Yilin said cheerfully.
