Lucas decided to go with the combat team to observe them.
'To think only 19 of over a hundred people were qualified, skill and character wise.'
'But it's better to go with quality over quantity when it comes to people.'
'And there are still some people applying, though much less than the first day.'
'It will change when we clear Affoltern tomorrow though.'
Lucas and the 3 teams were now inside the gate and started heading in different directions.
'Now the captain's leadership skills will truly be put to the test.'
The captains decided to let the new recruits fight by themselves against small goblin groups. Of course they still gave them directions on how to best fight as a team.
Since there were 6-7 recruits in the team fighting against 4-10 goblins, it was relatively easy with their superior stats.
Once the teams encountered larger groups, they started fighting together with the whole team.
And in a couple hours the 3 teams cleared all the goblins.
Most recruits had minor injuries, but they all did well with their captains instructions.
At the end Lucas smiled.
'Francesco really did a good job with picking them.'
He was satisfied with their performance, but to put them really to the test, he decided that they will be facing the E-rank gate later.
Thankfully all recruits leveled up at least a couple times in this gate.

Later in the evening.
Everyone had rested well in the afternoon and they were ready to face the new challenge now.
Lucas of course accompanied them again. Both to observe and to prevent anyone from dying.
When they spawned in the forest they split into their teams, but all teams headed in the same direction this time. They still had some distance between them though and couldn't see eachother.
Lucas followed team 1, Grishna team 2 and Krasbert team 3.
The recruits had lower stats than E-rank monsters, so they had to depend on teamwork.
The team captains needed to be smart and calm.
At first the teams only encountered goblins, though they were already in groups of 20 or more.
Killing them only took a couple minutes at most.
Soon they started encountering E-rank hobgoblins and blue forest wolves.
Since there weren't many yet, it was relatively easy.
After a while the teams started encountering larger groups of monster with many F and E-ranks.
They fought together as a team in a sturdy formation.
The stronger members could handle E-ranks by themselves, but the new recruits had to work together to kill one.
After some intense fights, the teams finally cleared one part of the gate.
Most of them had minor injuries and a few has some deeper wounds, but they received first aid.
A lot of the guild members managed to level up and a few recruits even got a class.
Kristian reached level 12.
Bryan also reached level 12.
Rossi also did a lot this time and reached level 12.
As for the new recruits.
Of the 19 of them, 4 reached level 10 and got a class.
The first one was a sword wielder from team 1.
He had an average hight and appearance with brown hair and eyes.
He was always very serious and determined.

This korean guy had the most unusual class.

Luckily when you get a class you also receive the befitting weapon.
Everyone was confused when they saw his weapon, but they quickly accepted it.
Joshua Park was a very kind man who was smart and hardworking.
He swung his flail around to get used to it.
A flail is a stick with a chain at the top that is attached to a spiked iron ball.
Lucas was also surprised when he saw Park's class and weapon. And he was also happy about a guild member getting a different class.
'This is great. There is a good chance that by the end, everyone will get a class.'
After resting for a while, all teams left for another side of the gate.
Although they had minor injuries, this time they all fought much better than before.
No one let their guards down at any time and their teamwork was much better.
The addition of 4 new people with classes also showed.
Once they killed every monster on that side, 6 out of the 15 people without classes reached level 10.
And of course Lucas decided to carefully check every one of them.
