Chapter 2 - Chapter 2, "I'm the Avatar! I swear!"

After returning home from their trip, they placed down the Emperor Polar Bear, with Sokka going around boldly claiming that he was the one indeed to be able to slaughter the animal. Although it was actually Satsu who had killed it, he left it alone as they now sat around the campfire. The orange light burned through the midnight sky, the embers splinting off around creating a beautiful sunset of colours at the campfire.

In his eyes, Satsu held a dark determination, he was ready to prove that in fact he was the Avatar and they needed to help him.

"Listen up alright...

He leaned forwards looking at both of them sideways.

- How do you expect that I was able to come up to the surface of the water? I was sent down hundreds of feet, and the only way that I was able to was propelling myself with water. But I didn't have any sorts of stamina to do that...not by myself. All I'm saying is that I was suddenly whisked away and next minute I know I see the last avatar in front of me! The Airbending Avatar! His name was Avatar Aang, and he showed me a long line of Avatars. All I can make out from the white noise is that he said...I wasn't meant to be here.." Satsu rambled on about this, so deep into his thought that they both looked at him like he was crazy. Their dilated eyes looked like they were about to fall asleep but then until one phrase.

"In that I'm telling you...Avatar Aang helped me reach you by somehow pulling me to the surface. It's all strange and weird..."

Satsu left out an important part which was talking about the box that he saw, but he didn't want them to think he was having a breakdown. Convincing them of this was already hard enough....

He thought to himself, 'Something important did happen as well. But I can't exactly tell them. Hell. I don't even understand it myself.'

"The Fire Nation must've hurt both of you in some sort of way..." He said in a low tone.

Satsu was interrupted by Katara before he could even finish.

"They did...Satsu. We've got something to show you." There was a sudden low mood in the air that he sensed, their eyes going gloomy but knowing that they had to show them they walked in a slow place towards a Fire Nation Battleship.

"This is the Fire Nation Battleship that took the life of our mother. She couldn't bend water, but to protect me she went to the ship and pretended that she was the water-bender. They took her...and her life." Katara explained what happened, and as she did Sokka kept quiet more and more, with Satsu feeling the somber weight of the situation.

As she was going to continue speaking, she cut herself off. She stopped speaking and slowly a crying whisper was heard as she closed in close to the stoic Sokka where the three of them huddled together stopping her tears.

Satsu and Sokka collectively spoke a similar variation of the same thing.

"We've got to defeat the Fire Nation. Whatever it takes."After returning home from their trip, they placed down the Emperor Polar Bear, with Sokka going around boldly claiming that he was the one indeed to be able to slaughter the animal. Satsu and Sokka collectively spoke a similar variation of the same thing.

"We've got to defeat the Fire Nation. Whatever it takes."

Satsu stepped away from the Battleship, "I'm sorry for what happened to your mother, Katara and Sokka."

His fist planted itself into the ground as his knees fell down. He began breaking it, harnessing the water below to create a stream that broke the ice above, only a small piece and began practicing with the water to grow stronger. Katara stared in awe, how that he began training immediately showing his loyalty to the goal. With this will, she was growing more convinced that he was the Avatar, because even if he wasn't...he was one hell of a powerful bender.

They began moving the water together, Sokka made targets and knocked them down with effortless precision and Satsu came up with ingenious technique ideas alongside Katara, teaching each other. They stayed beside the battleship, the seas, a symbol for their past but for what the future could entail.

This exercise lasted for a long time, and then after catching a break they decided to return to the village. Sokka and Katara where now convinced that this fifteen year old teenager, was the Avatar. After seeing the raw power that he entailed at such a young age, they decided that they would help him out with his journey.

When they saw Gran-Gran, Katara beamed with excitement to just talk about Satsu.

"I promise you he is the Avatar Gran-Gran! He was able to beat a legend of myth, he still has a lot to learn but he is the most powerful I've ever seen when it comes to Water-Bending."

"After what happened to your mother...Katara. Sokka. You have to help him if he is truly the avatar. Regardless. You need to go on this journey to defeat the Fire Nation."

Gran Gran looks towards them, giving them a wrapped up blankets and some rations for their first trip to Kyoshi Island. Though, the journey would be treacherous and would require the strength of Katara and Satsu to bend their way there. But they would make it there, just somehow.

They began preparing their large boat, and was able to store many items on this ship as it did hold rooms. It was meant for if an invasion came and they needed to escape, but there was no Water-Bender in the southern pole after they left.

They both embraced a tight hug with Gran-Gran, and after saying that they both had some teary eyes as they hopped on the boat. Katara stopped climbing for a second though, just to come back as Gran Gran was waving to give her another hug as she got back on. Satsu already was on the boat, and was ready to set course.

Collectively, they all began waving towards Gran-Gran.

"Satsu, if we're going to be leaving the Southern Pole....where exactly are we going? Mr. Captain?" Sokka questioned in a playful attitude.

"We're going to Kyoshi Island. That too is the only thing I remember from my dream."

"Maybe Sokka will get to see some girls other than Gran-Gran!" Katara said in a sarcastic tone.

Sokka nudged her in her sides, "Yeah and I'll still manage to get with someone faster than you!"

"I could get with anybody if I wanted to mister!" Katara yelled.

Satsu began laughing as he kept hearing the rambles of their arguement as he bent the water towards Kyoshi Island.
