TRUTH H SEEKING ARC PART 1 - CARNIVAL OF CLAIRVOYANCE
Hudson's POV :
After Enmei became a monster and the other monster that I had wanted to understand left I found myself weeping for days and begging the heavens to give me my best friend back or at least give me answers.
I could accept Eros being a monster but Enmei was supposed to be the girl I'd walk off into the sunset with after all this was over.
I'd looked to Science for answers but when my research failed I looked to God but when he didn't give me answers I just felt like he was waiting for the right time. I destroyed my clocks so i wouldn't see the amount of time that I'd been wasting.
There were 4 days of rain , Enmei was avoiding me and I was banned from Base One. Eros threw my stuff out and slammed the door in my face while Venus pulled my sister inside.
Both girls were wearing black masks and as the door shut I could see Venus nodding at me and Hotaru crying as if she was afraid she'd never see me again.
The sky roared and the clouds darkened.
An hurricane started and I just stood there trying to figure out why everything was falling apart. The wind was unnaturally strong and I almost got hit by a branch on my way home but somehow it never touched me.
I looked around trying to figure out who saved me but there was no one around. I kept walking while the wind pushed me back and I got soaked in rain. It seemed that God had always saved me whenever I was in danger.
Ever since I was a little kid God has always rescued me in an unexplainable way and so I promised him I'd be good.
The hurricane felt like I was being pulled back into a childhood memory. I drifted off into thought , remembering why I decided to be like God even though I was completely fascinated with Science.
' Mama am I going to be ok ?" I had asked and she looked sad.
Her eyes were wet and her body language was off.
" You are going to be fine , my little star ." She said but I knew something was wrong.
I was a curious child so I always asked questions.
" What did the doctor say, Mama ?" I asked , preparing myself for an answer that i might not like and my mother became very angry.
" Why does it matter what he said.? I just told you you'll be fine." She spat angrilly but the tears never left her eyes.
" Mama, I want to know what he said." I insisted , getting more and more worried and she sighed frustratedly , trying to hold back tears.
" Hudson , can you see the air ? can you see the microscopic particles that you love to study in science class ? " She asked and I shook my head telling her no for each question.
" Can you see God ?"
" No, but I know he exists." I finally said , walking towards her and holding her hand comfortingly.
There was silence and i could feel the tension between us then my mother suddenly spoke again.
" Well the Doctor said he doesn't see a way how you will live." Mom said and I understood immediately what she wanted me to do.
BELIEVE.
Ever Since then Science and Faith had guided me to all my answers but today as the rain attacked the town and I wandered around feeling betrayed by the world I never wanted answers more desperately. Unlike my friends I was a Scientist with strange beliefs and I believed that God created Science and that SCIENCE can prove the existence of God. Not everyone agrees , but that's a complicated topic that I'll never get caught debating with my fellow Science nerds.
' God please tell me if I was supposed to get my powers . Please help me to use your Science to find the truth." I thought and for a moment my curiosity was telling me to go talk to Eros.
I was about to turn back and beg Eros to let me back into Base One . but someone appeared right in front me.
" You again ?" I asked and the man in front of me smiled and stepped slightly to the side.
It was the same mysterious guy who saved Yukina that one time , you know the one that said that my strength was sexy. I found that super weird but no one ever saw me as strong so I didn't mind it. At least for once someone thought that I had strength.
" You don't sound very glad to see me." He said as the wind blew his hair left and right.
" I'm not." I said , dragging my stuff behind me
He didn't respond. Another Branch came at me from behind but as I turned around he had already sprung into the air and caught it.
He smirked and I just kept walking.
" Listen Mystery guy. My Science homework's been ruined by the rain. I'm pretty sure-" I started to complain but he interrupted me.
"Homework ? That's your problem ? I thought you were smart. Didn't you get a scholarship? " He said as he hovered off the ground and flew beside me.
"I guess ....wait how'd you know that I got a scholarship ? " I asked, realizing that we never spoke about that but he vanished.
I groaned frustratedly.
" Why does he always do that ? " I asked but then as I kept walking I realized that all the branches that came after me just fell right as they were about to hit me.
" I guess he's still here protecting me." I said then I shouted so he'd hear me from where ever he was hiding. " I need to know your name !"
I felt like through out my life God had always sent someone to save me and so I had promised God that I'd be a hero and save people just like him.
I was going to go home but the Scientist in me wanted to find answers. There were so many things that I needed to know : Was Enmei always aware that she could be a monster ? Why can I see the supernatural things that other humans can't ? Why can't Eros fall in love ?
Where is my God in all this chaos ? Does he sit above the heavens, protecting his people or does he walk among us pretending to be a normal man ?
I decided to go to the library. I flew the rest of the way, but when I arrived it was almost completely in shambles , books were all over the floor and stuck between rocks and debris.
I stood outside and searched the ground for science books and books about the paranormal but I couldn't find any.
" One , zero , one , zero ,one , zero , one , zero , one , zero ..." I heard a man's voice drag out , sounding tired and bored.
Why was he repeating that odd number sequence ?
I stopped to pay attention to his words but then I spotted an interesting book under debris.
" Aliens read books, what kind of title is this ?" I asked as I took it up.
I opened it with the rain now beating down harder than before. I stood outside the library with the odd book that was soaking wet.
I read the dedication.
It said : To the people who feel like they don't belong to our universe because they're so different : NEVER let anyone stop you from being weird.
I didn't know what to make of it .....I always felt like I belonged here even though I was different even though ... I paused as tears rolled down my cheeks before I even realized I was crying.
I'm weird. I'm a strange person. I'm always letting my emotions get the best of me.
A thousand flashbacks of all the kids bullying me for crying too much and Eros telling me I'm weak came at me like a ball aimed at with precision and strength.
I used to have these weird dreams where a little girl was lost and looking for parts of her soul and I always saw the supernatural long before this game started.
I AM extremely odd. I had never fit in with the other kids and maybe I'll never be strong enough to be a real hero.
I cried out as I threw the book but it stopped in mid air and the sky darkened.
The storm was only getting worse. I stared at the book that seemed to just float in air. The lightning flashed.
" It's such a cute book . Why throw it away ?" The voice of the mystery man from earlier asked.
He flipped through the pages then became visible and walked towards me with a small smirk .
" Are you stalking me ?" I asked and he shrugged.
" Maybe." He said and I turned away from him and walked off.
" Leave me alone. I'm not normal." I said turning away and there was silence.
"I wouldn't have followed you out here if you were." The mysterious man said , smirking as he appeared infront of me again.
I stopped suddenly then turned the other direction.
" Stop following me around !" I shouted at him again and he didn't listen.
" Hudson , wait." He said and I kept walking.
" The system is going to pick the strongest girls for Eros and your friend Enmei and my cousin Lure, are currently at the top of the list." He said and I turned around quickly and walked back towards him.
" Enmei ? What ? No this can't happen again. I wont allow him to take my best friend away from me this time ." I shouted angrlly and the mysterious man sighed.
" Well Enmei and Eros would make a cute couple but my cousin Lure deserves a man who can protect her not turn her into a zombie." He said and I got so angry that I couldn't contain it an longer.
" He's ruining everything that I love. I cant stand this game and I cant stand him." I said then I grabbed the book out of the man's hand.
" Enmei is MY friend NOT his ! " I pointed the book at him furiously as I spoke.
" If we dont want Enmei and Lure to get taken away by the system to be in Eros' harem we have to make sure they dont fight or prove their strength ." The mysterious player said and for a second I wondered how we could stop them from fighting then I remembered that my best friend wasn't like the other girls.
" Well Enmei is one of the strongest people I know. She's not just strong physically , she's strong in every way. She's also very pretty. Women are always better at being the full package."
" Well guess what ? The game only cares about physical strength. It wants Eros love match to worship him and not care about herself."
" Well I guess I don't have to worry because Enmei isn't like that. She wont put a man above herself ,not this time." I whispered the last few words of my sentence sadly as I remembered how I had betrayed her when the Sirens wrecked our College.
" You still need to help me with Lure. " The dark- haired man said urgently and I furrowed my brows at him.
" Your cousin might want Eros." I said flatly and he glared at me as if I was the devil.
"Fine. I'll help stop the system from selecting your cousin. I'll make sure the other girls seem way stronger." I said and he smiled.

The system made a sudden announcement and the mysterious man rolled his eyes.
" Let's go fuck this game up." he said and we both left the library and headed towards the central battlefield.
