Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 New Sequence D-Three-Strong

Ludy was the captain of the 13th Squad of the Mutant Species Precision Investigation and Armed Crusade Corps, a subordinate department of the East Ring District Wasteland Security Bureau.

Because the department's name was too long, most of the time, people called them Wasteland Hunters. They were mainly responsible for clearing out mutated species and dealing with various dangerous situations, serving as frontline combat personnel ensuring wasteland security.

However, Ludy was a bit flustered now because something big had happened in his jurisdiction!

The animals in the Biological Exhibition Hall had mutated and gone berserk, even giving rise to a large number of mutated species. This was something many people couldn't even imagine.

His first reaction, like many others, was: How could mutated species appear inside the wall?

"It's over, it's over, my year-end bonus is gone!"

As a Hunter captain who had long been in contact with mutated species, he had long grown accustomed to death.

The loss of too many friends and loved ones had caused his heart to close off, leading him to alcoholism, decadence, and indulgence.

Therefore, compared to the deaths of unrelated humans, he cared more about his income, which determined the quality of wine he drank during the day and the class of club he visited at night.

Over the years, Ludy's 13th Squad had seen members die or leave, and the once elite 13th Squad had now become a team of slackers.

The team was now filled with various connections and idlers from above. These people served almost no purpose other than to eat and wait to die.

Aside from him, the slacker captain, the other team members were either rich second-generation heirs sent in by wealthy merchants to avoid inheriting family businesses, or illegitimate children entrusted to Ludy by high-ranking officials.

Ludy couldn't command these people, so usually, he was a lone commander, having to do everything himself.

Ludy was also too lazy to recruit new members; he didn't want to see his subordinates die again. He had had enough of that feeling.

"404 Biological Exhibition Hall? This must be the place. What a strange name."

"Bang!" Ludy kicked open the zoo's main gate and habitually said:

"Hunters on official business! I'm Ludy, the Demon Hunter Captain of the 13th Squad. Nobody move! Men, hands on your heads and lie on the ground. Women, face the wall."

Unfortunately, there was no one left on the first floor, only sticky, ink-black hair.

"Is this a Ghost Species?"

Ludy's sudden appearance immediately attracted the attention of the Sleeping Witch! Countless strands of hair, like steel needles and sharp swords, shot towards Ludy.

Facing such an attack, unbearable for those with trypophobia, Ludy showed no sign of panic.

He took out his psionic lighter, lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, almost finishing the entire cigarette. Then he turned the cigarette butt upside down and blew hard.

Smoke and sparks, like the evening glow, instantly filled the first floor of the exhibition hall. The intense dust explosion and flames incinerated the hair.

"Boom."

Ludy walked slowly through the explosion. With just one move, he cleared the entire first floor of the exhibition hall, demonstrating his formidable strength.

As the dust settled, a slender figure slowly emerged from the viscous hair. She didn't show her face, and her eyes, hidden in her hair, seemed to be staring at Ludy.

Ludy looked at the woman's figure and immediately smiled.

"So it's a humanoid species, very unique. It's really strange that you can appear in this place!"

He quickly drew an absurdly large-caliber revolver, its bore almost wider than a child's arm, and its cylinder also exaggeratedly large. When the muzzle spewed flames, this thing could no longer be considered just a gun.

"BOOM!"

"Ah!" The black, inky hair was shattered by a single shot. Black liquid and blood splattered together, and the Sleeping Witch was severely wounded by Ludy's shot, falling heavily to the ground.

Feeling Ludy's power, the Sleeping Witch immediately scrambled up, blocking Ludy's path with a mass of black silk, then quickly twisted her body through the hair, fleeing upstairs.

"Running pretty fast, aren't you? Go ahead and run. If you don't stall for a bit, I wouldn't know how to slack off."

In Ludy's opinion, since a Tier 3 humanoid species had already appeared here, especially a hair monster with such a massive range of abilities, there shouldn't be any living people left.

This was a good opportunity for him to linger here for a while, to demonstrate the tension and difficulty of the situation. That way, if the bureau tried to blame him, he would have a reason to deflect it.

The mutated species were powerful, and he was caught in a bitter struggle. Was it not natural for some people to die? What did it have to do with him?

"I've tried so hard, how could they possibly blame me?"

Ludy unceremoniously flicked his cigarette butt aside, picked his nose, and slowly ambled upstairs... Lu Luo dragged the deformed species' corpse to the corner of the floor. Closing the door, he removed its hand bone from the corpse. This hand bone was one of the materials for synthesizing the Blade of Resentment.

He was still unsure about the specific attributes and effects of the Blade of Resentment, but if he had the chance to acquire more powerful equipment, he was still willing to put in the effort.

After obtaining the deformed species' hand bone, the energy aspect could be planned for the long term. Now, the only things he couldn't obtain were the Sleeping Witch's hair and Shadow Stone.

The 20 minutes were almost up, and the Observer's dormant state should be nearing its end.

Lu Luo could have actually performed the devouring earlier. He had been waiting for the Observer precisely because he was afraid of potential unexpected situations during the devouring process.

When facing unexpected events, the Observer's role was extremely significant, so he had been waiting.

[Hello! My host, it's time for our favorite loot-licking moment! Let's see what we've harvested this time.]

Lu Luo quite liked the Observer's cheerful personality; at least it was much better than those cold systems that forced you to do missions. .

"Hmm, it's almost time to start."

Extending the Devourer's tendrils into the deformed species' corpse, the surging dark energy of the Tier 2 mutated species transformed into pure energy and flowed into his body.

However, this devouring gave Lu Luo some different prompts.

[You are devouring the life energy of a Tier 2 deformed species. You have obtained partial information about Sequence D03 - Robust.]

"D03 - Robust? What's that?"

This prompt only appeared once. After Lu Luo finished devouring the deformed species' corpse, his personal information, in addition to increased energy values, also showed two new pieces of information under the talent section.

Sequence D-03 - Robust

Effect: 1/10 (Not activated)

"Is this a new talent sequence? Mutated species actually possess talent sequences? The Devourer can even devour talent sequences?"

[Don't be so surprised. The noble S-rank sequences are powerful beyond your imagination. Although the Devourer is a bit inferior to me, it is still S-rank after all.

Currently, the efficiency of the Devourer, this trash sequence, is still very low. If you want to strengthen it, you'll need a lot of resources, but I still recommend you prioritize upgrading the noble Observer sequence.]

"What is sequence value?"

[The sequence power obtained by devouring creatures with talent sequences. When you're lucky, you can directly activate the talent sequence. When you're unlucky, you only get sequence value.]

"Like the Sequence D03 - Robust just now? Is it a rare drop?"

[You ask too many questions, you're too stupid, and you're too weak. Just add points first.]
