Kael
The entire hall was still caught in the heat of Seraphina's uncle's revelation.
Seraphina looked at me—her face still full of surprise and the after taste of betrayal.
She kept staring at me, waiting for me to say something.
Waiting for me to deny it even. But I couldn't move. I couldn't open my mouth. I had planned to tell her the truth myself, but not like this and not in front of the whole kingdom. But now everything was thrown in the open in the worst way possible.
"Guards!" he shouted. "Take Kael Riven into custody at once!"
Several guards moved through the crowd, stepping toward me. Seraphina flinched at the aggressiveness of their steps.
I finally straightened my back and let my voice cut through the chaos.I had kept quiet for only one reason, and that was because of Seraphina but now that the truth was out in the open, I might as well deal with the situation then handle the consequences later.
