Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Mokgetsu: That's Right, You Two Hit the Jackpot

Watching Mokgetsu's swift and clean Tornado Kick, Might Guy's eyes lit up instantly, feeling like he'd encountered the dream technique that fulfilled all his fantasies about Taijutsu.

Simple, fast, powerful, and also very cool.

"I like it, please make sure to teach this!" Might Guy expressed his satisfaction with the Leaf Whirlwind enthusiastically.

"I'm glad you like it." Mokgetsu nodded with a smile.

Might Guy's reaction was within his expectations. After all, this Taijutsu was developed by Might Guy himself later on, and he even developed an entire series like Great Whirlwind and Steel Whirlwind. It would be strange if he didn't like it.

With Mokgetsu's promise, Obito and Might Guy were both very happy, even finding the troublesome test papers more agreeable.

"Watch me go all out, this time I'll definitely get more than four right!" Obito rubbed his hands together with excitement, as if he was about to start a fight.

"I must get more than three right, or I'll run five hundred laps around Konoha tonight!" Might Guy was determined, using self-discipline to master his dream technique.

He planned to challenge Kakashi to see how much his strength had improved after learning this Taijutsu.

However, his sudden enthusiasm faded quickly. After doing a few problems, Obito understood a truth.

If pushed to the limit, he might unleash a larger Great Fireball or hit the bullseye with five shurikens in one breath, but when it came to problems, getting anxious was of no help.

He supported his head with one hand while playing with a pen with the other in various poses. Amidst his frustration, even the swaying green leaves seemed to mock his inability to solve the problems.

Obito couldn't help but glance at Might Guy next to him.

Although Might Guy had been a classmate for over three years, along with Kakashi as a mutual friend, they had never really played together. Their relationship was quite ordinary.

Not strangers, but not exactly friends either—just classmates and friends of friends.

Thinking of Might Guy, his first reaction was "dead last."

While he was also called "dead last," Obito thought he was just specialized in some areas. His ninjutsu and shuriken throwing were decent, just really weak in theory.

It's just that the other Uchiha were excellent at everything, making him, an imperfect Uchiha, appear as the "dead last."

But Might Guy was different; he was bad in theory and ninjutsu, performing near the bottom in most courses, a recognized "dead last."

But at this moment, Might Guy showed more patience than him. Even though he was scratching his head in difficulty, Might Guy continued to tackle the tough questions seriously.

Obito remembered Might Guy's ambitious words when ridiculed once.

"I believe that by keeping up this effort, I will become the strongest Taijutsu ninja in the future!"

Though Obito wasn't among those who mocked him, when he heard these words, he was skeptical, not believing Might Guy could become the so-called strongest Taijutsu.

But now his thoughts changed a bit; whether he could become the strongest Taijutsu ninja was uncertain, but he should certainly become stronger than those who ridiculed him.

"Maybe becoming friends with him might be quite nice," Obito muttered, thinking they could team up against the annoying Kakashi.

Watching Might Guy working on the problems nonstop, Obito also picked up his pen and started writing, racking his brain.

Mokgetsu, observing this scene, showed a thoughtful expression.

He hadn't anticipated that the two of them together could create such a chemical reaction, influencing even the originally impatient Obito to settle down and work on problems.

In the future, he could use similar methods to stimulate Obito's cultivation.

After the two finished, Mokgetsu helped them with corrections.

Obito got three right, while Might Guy got two right.

"Sigh, still didn't get four. I tried my best." Obito slumped over the desk, looking burnt out.

"Add five hundred laps of running tonight." Might Guy incorporated the punishment for failure into his training plan.

Seeing this, Mokgetsu comforted them, "You are actually only five questions away from passing the test, and in just one hour you improved by one question. Doesn't this sound much better?"

Obito and Might Guy, upon thinking, found it reasonable—the passing and the ninjutsu were within reach.

Comforting accomplished, Mokgetsu cheerfully took out two more test papers.

Seeing the brand-new test papers on the desk and thinking about the three weekends left before the exam, Obito felt faint.

But he could only pick up his pen and brace himself to continue, for if he gave up now, all the previous test papers would have been done in vain.

Meanwhile, Shisui, having restored his chakra, started another round of Fire Release practice, his fire dragons constantly flying in the sky, capturing Obito's attention.

"Teacher Habu, after we learn your ninjutsu, would that mean we're your disciples like Shisui?" Obito pondered and asked.

"If you wish, then you are," Mokgetsu replied ambiguously.

"Hehe, since we're eventually going to be your disciples, why don't you teach us now?" Obito straightforwardly stated his objective.

Mokgetsu gave him a skeptical look. Although this was the result of his deliberate setup, the brevity of this Yan Kingdom map was remarkable.

Obito patted his chest, assuring, "Teacher Mokgetsu, I'm not trying to avoid studying. I just think these two can be done simultaneously."

After saying this, Obito tugged on Might Guy beside him:

"Guy, don't you think so?"

"Teacher, I think Obito is right." Might Guy also wanted to learn the Leaf Whirlwind quickly to challenge Kakashi.

"What if you don't pass by then?" Mokgetsu didn't rush to agree and asked instead.

"Then we'll do whatever teacher tells us to. I'll listen to you." Obito was confident in passing.

"Same here." Might Guy nodded in agreement.

"Well..." Mokgetsu showed a conflicted expression, seemingly still hesitating.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, please trust me. I will definitely study earnestly with you and not let you down," Obito quickly continued upon seeing hope.

"Me too." Might Guy clenched his fist in promise.

"Alright then, I believe you can deliver on your words. Once you finish this test paper, I'll teach you the Mighty Dragon Fire Jutsu and Leaf Whirlwind," Mokgetsu seemed to be persuaded.

"Great! I knew you were the best, Teacher Mokgetsu. I definitely won't let your trust in me be in vain," Obito exclaimed with excitement.

He felt that today was his lucky day—not only improving his theoretical scores but also gaining a formidable teacher, a complete win.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, I will definitely work hard to cultivate your Taijutsu!" Might Guy said seriously.

He also felt lucky today, meeting someone willing to become his teacher and teach him Taijutsu.

Seeing the two pop-up prompts, Mokgetsu flashed a satisfied smile. Yes, you've hit the jackpot.
