"Number one Hagane Kotetsu versus number two Kamizuki Izumo." Mokgetsu read out the names of the students for the first battle.
Upon hearing that they would face each other in the first round, Kamizuki Izumo and Hagane Kotetsu sighed inwardly, lamenting how fate was pitting the two brothers against each other from the start.
"Kotetsu, I thought today would be the day for us to make our names known, but fate seems to have its jealous ways." Kamizuki Izumo sighed and said.
He didn't expect that he and Kotetsu would have such bad luck, meeting in the first round.
"Indeed." Hagane Kotetsu nodded with a face full of sorrow.
If they hadn't met in the first round, with their well-practiced Deception Jutsu, they might have met in a fateful match later on.
"Izumo, the perfected Deception Jutsu is quite powerful; since we are brothers, how about we refrain from using it in our battle?" Hagane Kotetsu suggested.
Kamizuki Izumo thought for a moment, then smiled and nodded, "That sounds good."
"You two, stop talking like ancient people and get into the arena to prepare for your battle. Don't waste time." Anko said with exasperation.
Ignoring Anko, who didn't understand the sense of ritual, the two of them headed to the battlefield, preparing to fight.
"Begin the fight!" Mokgetsu shouted as soon as the two were ready.
Upon hearing Mokgetsu, the two instantly charged at each other, engaging in close combat.
Their skills were evenly matched, having trained together under the same teacher, resulting in a stalemate.
Kotetsu threw a right punch, Izumo responded with a right punch; Kotetsu used an elbow strike, Izumo did the same. The two battled fiercely for two minutes without any outcome.
"It's about time." Kotetsu thought to himself.
"Although we are brothers, the ninja world is harsh. I will carry on your will, Izumo, and continue to win." Filled with guilt, Kotetsu prepared to use the Deception Jutsu.
"Kotetsu, I'm sorry, but I am a ninja." Kamizuki Izumo smiled and quickly formed hand seals; he was going to use Deception Jutsu!
Joking aside, how could he not use the jutsu he had painstakingly cultivated; agreeing with Kotetsu was just to lower his guard.
"Konoha swears!" Kotetsu instantly withdrew his guilt; Izumo was even more dishonest!
As Izumo completed his hand seals, the arena suddenly had four scantily clad elder sisters with Izumo's aura.
Even though Kotetsu had cast this ninjutsu many times himself, he instinctively slowed down his hand seals, and his gaze wandered to the majestic mountains.
Not only Kotetsu, but many observing students were also captivated by the grand scenery, looking towards the majestic mountains.
Mokgetsu paused for a second, thinking about how this wasn't Naruto's Seduction Jutsu, wondering why it appeared earlier and how the butterfly effect was a bit unusual.
Kamizuki Izumo seized the moment when Kotetsu was distracted and delivered a flying kick that knocked him down.
The attacked Kotetsu quickly regained his senses, internally acknowledging the terrifying power of the jutsu, as even someone with his strong will was caught off guard.
Regaining his composure, Kotetsu quickly distanced himself, forming hand seals while running and casting a jutsu.
With Kotetsu's jutsu cast, soon four equally enticing elder sister clones appeared on the field.
Seeing the sudden appearance of the new clones, Izumo's pursuit slowed down, and Kotetsu took the opportunity to counterattack.
"These two idiots, how could such clones be useful, they look so weak." Anko felt that Kotetsu and Izumo were senselessly improvising.
The intense fighting on the battleground captivated the audience as well, with Kamizuki Izumo ultimately winning the first battle narrowly.
"Izumo, that's not your power; it's Brother Ebisu's power!" Kotetsu felt he lost not because of skill but because of his sense of guilt, which prevented him from taking the initiative!
"If this jutsu could be perfected, it's indeed thanks to Brother Ebisu, but a win is a win. I'll carry on your will, Kotetsu, and keep winning." Kamizuki Izumo said with a proud smile.
The students began discussing after hearing their conversation.
"Ebisu, isn't that the senior who advanced last week? I can't believe he led the development of such a jutsu." A student expressed disbelief.
During the last skills test, Ebisu was the only one to advance to Class A, thus gaining considerable recognition in Group C.
"That's him. I know him; he's in the same class as me, Class 4, Year 6." A classmate of Ebisu nodded to confirm.
"Honestly, this jutsu might be practical. Could he be a genius?" someone analyzed seriously.
Regardless, Ebisu's fame spread within Group C.
Unfortunately, Kamizuki Izumo's enjoyment was short-lived, as his second-round opponent was Uzuki Yugao.
Uzuki Yugao didn't even glance at Izumo's clones; she relentlessly pursued him, and Izumo wasn't a match and soon lost.
"Damn, I almost forgot about female students!" Kamizuki Izumo realized that Deception Jutsu had its flaws.
"Izumo, that's what you get for betraying your brother!" Kotetsu shouted mockingly.
...
Group A was also undergoing battle tests.
"Number one Uchiha Shisui versus number two Yuhi Kurenai."
"The first battle is against him..." Yuhi Kurenai was momentarily taken aback upon hearing her name.
She had only known Shisui for a few days, but he had already left a deep impression, easily defeating predecessors in their team, and securing the top spot in the skills test as a first-year student.
"Kurenai, do your best," Asuma voiced his support.
"Be cautious of his speed; he's very fast," Namiashi Raido warned.
His loss was due to underestimating Shisui's speed.
Yuhi Kurenai nodded, calming her emotions as she stepped into the arena, her gaze determined.
"Begin the battle!"
Once fighting Shisui, Yuhi Kurenai understood why Namiashi Raido's loss was justified.
In every aspect, be it Taijutsu or Ninjutsu, she was completely suppressed, almost powerless, giving her best just to respond to the attacks.
Eventually, unable to withstand Shisui's assault, Yuhi Kurenai quickly lost the match.
"Uchiha Shisui is the winner," Mokgetsu announced the result.
He had used an appraisal to evaluate Kurenai's potential, which turned out to be quite good, an A.
However, Kurenai's talent lay in Genjutsu, an area that Hokage found somewhat awkward, as without Mangekyo abilities, there wasn't much that could compete.
"It's okay, Raido lost to him too. This guy is just too talented," Asuma offered timely consolation.
Raido, who was dragged into this, shot Asuma an annoyed glare, feeling like he was being comforted with a stab to the heart.
"Number seventeen Uchiha Obito versus number eighteen Might Guy."
