Chapter 138 - Chapter 48: Making Up for Weaknesses

Monday morning, the Ninja Academy began the first exam of the second semester this year.

Unlike the last exam, Mokgetsu got a promotion this time and didn't need to draw lots to decide which class to invigilate. Mokgetsu could choose to patrol the first-year classes or quietly sit in the office drinking tea.

However, since idle time is still idle time, Mokgetsu let a Shadow Clone wander around a few times and then returned to the office, while the main body went for cultivation.

Mokgetsu didn't use the Ninjutsu Proficiency Scroll for Contract Seal and directly cultivated to proficiency level on his own.

Since there was no urgent need for Fuinjutsu now, Mokgetsu felt that with his talent in Fuinjutsu, he could conduct his research and save the Skill Scrolls for later.

As for physique, Mokgetsu had already obtained Master Level in Breath of Rock for over two and a half months. With twenty-four-hour training in a Constant State, he tested his physique once a week and saw improvements each time.

After two months, the progress began to gradually decline, but it was still better than regular training.

Mokgetsu didn't spend much effort on the five basic Ninjutsu, because from his observations of other ninjas, his current Ninjutsu level was quite sufficient. So he only studied various combinations of his Ninjutsu to see how to release Combined Ninjutsu in combat.

Mokgetsu felt that what he really lacked was Chakra and combat experience.

He had a high level of Nature Transformation and mastered many Ninjutsu. The power of his Ninjutsu was so great that Mokgetsu didn't dare to unleash it fully for fear of attracting the Anbu.

If he released Ninjutsu at full power, Mokgetsu felt that the power of his Ninjutsu was definitely at Kage Level. But if he recklessly bombarded like that, he would quickly run out of Chakra.

To use a vivid metaphor, Mokgetsu's outlet was large, but his own water reserve wasn't much. Although it wasn't as bad as a certain mage who couldn't handle Blast Magic with one shot, his Chakra was genuinely limited compared to his output capability.

As for combat experience, that was a matter of circumstance. Mokgetsu had no opportunity to fight with full force and test his level, unless he wanted to be suspected as a spy and then invited by the Anbu or Root to have tea.

So now, except for some Root-related training experience carried over from the original owner, Mokgetsu had no other practical combat experience to speak of.

Mokgetsu was making efforts to fill in these two gaps.

Mokgetsu was already working hard to gain Chakra rewards; during the first month of the new semester, he mainly focused on gaining Chakra in class, earning about one thousand one hundred and eighty points of Chakra in total.

Regarding combat experience, Mokgetsu's current idea was to split into Shadow Clones, letting the clones fight each other, and then have the memory flow back to the main body to gain experience. Whether it worked well or not was another matter, but it was better than doing nothing.

Aside from the Shadow Clone training method, Mokgetsu did have another idea, one that could not only increase his actual combat experience but also train his disciples.

However, this idea had not yet reached the optimal time to propose; he needed to wait for better achievements and the war to progress for a while before it was a good time to bring it up.

The next day, Mokgetsu went to the actual combat exam site of Class 1 to check the overall combat performance of the students.

He planned to visit Might Guy and Obito's side on the third day during the grade-level combat exams.

With the rewards from summer special training ahead, Mokgetsu also placed great importance on the progress of the Class 1 students' strength.

"Director Habu." The two invigilating teachers greeted Mokgetsu with a smile.

The invigilating teachers this time weren't very familiar with Mokgetsu, and their relationship could be described as colleagues who knew each other's names.

"Teacher Kikuda, Teacher Murashima." Mokgetsu responded with a smile.

Initially, Murashima Shinki felt a bit pressured seeing Mokgetsu coming over, thinking he had to be more cautious when grading. But after a brief chat with Mokgetsu, Murashima Shinki relaxed.

Mokgetsu himself was as gentle and friendly as his reputation at the Ninja Academy suggested, even though his position and Ninja Level were higher than those of regular teachers, he didn't show any condescension.

Honestly, Murashima Shinki was surprised when Mokgetsu called out his name because he remembered only talking to Mokgetsu once before, yet Mokgetsu remembered him.

"Ah, the opponents are just a bunch of first-year students; it feels a bit hard to muster any excitement." Hagane Kotetsu said with his hands crossed, looking regretful.

"Yeah, it feels like in the upcoming battles we'll definitely be like bullies to them." Kamizuki Izumo nodded in agreement.

"Aren't you first-year students too? People might think you're really strong from the special training, but you didn't even get past the third round in the practical test." Anko couldn't help but retort.

Being a top competitor in Group C herself, she wasn't complaining, yet the two of them were acting all high and mighty.

"Not getting to the third round was just bad luck; Anko, you don't understand. Our path as ninjas is smooth sailing now that we've been noticed by the Hokage." Hagane Kotetsu refuted.

"Your technique wouldn't work at all! If you faced me, I'm sure I'd beat you until you look for your teeth all over the ground." Anko swung her fists, issuing a Taijutsu warning.

For a moment, neither Hagane Kotetsu nor Kamizuki Izumo dared to boast anymore. They admitted that Anko was quite strong now in terms of brute strength.

"Contestant 1, Uchiha Shisui. Contestant 2, Mitarashi Anko. Prepare for the exam." The invigilating teacher's voice reached the three of them.

"Hahaha, seems like Anko, you won't even get a chance to encounter us." Kamizuki Izumo rejoiced. Although Anko couldn't beat just one person in first-year, she happened to face the only unbeatable opponent in the first match.

"Someone won't even get past the second round, I'm not saying who." Hagane Kotetsu's momentum surged instantly.

"Damn it, you two better not leave after the test!" Anko looked sullen, not expecting Shisui to be number one.

It was the first time this school year that Murashima Shinki and the others were invigilating the first-year exams. After watching the battle between Anko and Shisui, they were utterly amazed.

"Judging by first-year standards, I can't deduct their points." Murashima Shinki said outright.

Their battle was not the level a first-year student should exhibit; it was more like a fourth-year class competition or grade-level combat practice.

Although Anko lost, Murashima Shinki still gave her full marks. It wasn't that Anko wasn't strong; her opponent was just stronger.

After the first round of battles in Class 1 ended, Murashima Shinki looked at the score sheet in his hands, questioning reality. He felt that handing this in would get him called in for questioning; the average score was just too high.

Murashima Shinki glanced at the score sheet in another teacher's hand, seeing it was similar to his, he sighed in relief. It wasn't that he scored too high; it's that Class 1 really performed well.

"Another half a month to a month should see improvement rewards." Mokgetsu thought as he observed Class 1's performance.

After watching the first round and seeing all the student battles, Mokgetsu left.

On the third day, Mokgetsu went to the location of the fourth-year grade-level combat practice.
