The next day.
I opened my eyes slowly and yawned, the sun was already high in the sky. I sat up and groaned, my whole body felt weak. I looked around but Thomas wasn't in the room. I dragged myself to the bathroom, washed up and took a bath.
When I came out, I saw Allison sitting on the floor, crying, while Mom sat behind her on the couch, consoling her.
"What happened?" I asked, standing in front of her.
Mom sighed. "She misses Ethan. She's been like this since the whole night."
"The mate bond hasn't even started fully and you're like this?" Thomas scoffed. "Once it passes a year… that's when you'll know real hell. The longest separation for a bond is one year."
I rolled my eyes and looked at Allison in annoyance. "What are the tears for? Aren't you the one who made leaving him possible?" I honestly don't get why she's sad after getting what she wanted.
She glared at me. "Just keep quiet if you don't have anything reasonable to say."
"But I'm trying to…."
