Chapter 26 - Unspoken Concern

The girl also notices someone looking at her.

She looks his way and instantly knows who that is.

"Ohh, he's Si-Hun…" She mutters under her breath.

She waves at him.

"I-it's Su-Yeon…:

He smiles back and walks towards her.

He almost forgets about the big red stain on his shirt, which was just hidden by a loose button of his black leather jacket.

"Hi! You can sit here." She moves aside and pats the bench for him to sit.

"Thanks."

Het sits beside her, with a respectful gap.

"What brings you here at this hour?" Su-Yeon says.

"I was thirsty, so I thought, Why not get a drink from the convenience store?"

"Hmm. I come here often. This part of the park is…peaceful and away from all the noise." She says, looking at the sky while occasionally glancing his way.

Si-Hun looks at her, who is lost in words and seemingly innocent.

He studies her carefully while giving her short replies.

While talking, Si-Hun doesn't even notice his jacket's button opening up, as it was loosely buttoned.

"S-Si-Hun, your chest. You're hurt…" She says as all the peace from her face goes away and turns into worry.

"Shit." He mutters under his breath.

"Let's go to the hospital? This will get worse if you don't get it treated."

"I-I'm good, Su-Yeon. It's not that deep."

"No, you're clearly not. I don't have ointment at my home. Do you?

Si-Hun presses his lips together and nods.

"Then let's go to your house. If you don't get it treated right now, it will catch an infection."

"O-okay."

They got up and left the park.

Su-Yeon was extra careful for him, watching his every step as if he would fall if any step was missed.

She holds his sleeve loosely and doesn't let go.

Si-Hun, on the other hand, looks at the way she's so careful and how she was kind enough to help him.

"I-if you don't mind me asking…How did you get hurt?" She asks without looking his way.

"I…"

"I-it's fine. You don't need to tell me. What's important is that you need to be treated right away."

When she says this, Si-Hun's heart actually hurts, because all his life, no one has ever cared enough to ask if he was hurt or to check on him.

He was quietly watching her holding his sleeve, and how her hair fell over her shoulder, long and silky.

He stayed quiet until they reached his apartment.

Kuro, on the other hand, sees the door opening and stands near it.

He didn't expect Su-Yeon to come with him.

"Su-Yeon? Master, what is she doing here?"

Si-Hun looks at Kuro and signals him to go away.

"Okay, master. I'll leave," He said, a worry in his tone as he saw his chest.

"The ointment is in that drawer. Let me take it."

"No! You stay here, no need to move so much."

"I-I'm fi-

"Just do as I say. You're hurt badly."

Si-Hun doesn't say anything else and tells her where the ointment is.

Su-Yeon gets it from the drawer and sits near him.

"Don't move too much. I know how to treat wounds like this. My major is nursing, so trust me."

"Are you sure you're not uncomfortable?"

She looks at him with her doe eyes.

"No. Now stay still." She was touched by how he asked if she was comfortable with him.

Si-Hun was also taken aback by her answer, but he was glad he wasn't making her feel uncomfortable.

Something was going on in both of their minds.

"Umm…could you take your shirt off…?"

She asks reluctantly.

"W-what?"

"Umm, the fabric will get into the wound if not removed. It will make it worse."

"O-okay…"

With that, he takes off his jacket and then removes his shirt.

Si-Hun presses his lips in a thin line, his ears betraying his expression.

Su-Yeon was watching him take his shirt off, and she felt flustered.

His chest was toned and his abs were well-defined.

She was feeling shy all of a sudden.

Si-Hun noticed her behaviour change a bit.

His ears also turned crimson.

It wasn't anything bad, but it was making them both flustered.

After he was done taking his shirt off, Su-Yeon picked up the ointment bottle and poured it onto the cotton in her hand.

She leaned closer and carefully applied it to his wound.

Si-Hun hissed with the burn.

"D-does it hurt too much?"

"No."

She nodded and continued.

Si-Hun was feeling very shy while she was doing her work carefully.

He saw how her hair fell over her shoulder, a few strands brushing his skin, making him feel more flustered.

It made her question if someone like her would fit into his dark world.

After she was done applying the ointment, she took a cloth and soaked it with water.

She rubbed it lightly over his wound, careful enough not to put much pressure. She then takes a dry towel and pats it over his wound to remove any moisture.

She was doing her work professionally, and she was good at it.

"Here. I'm done. You're all good, but be careful and don't move much until it is somewhat healed."

"I'll be careful. It's my time to thank you now."

She smiled and said

"I'll have a tube at my home, which will help your wound heal faster. I'll bring it to you."

"You've already done so much, I'll buy it from the medical store. Thanks…"

"It will be more expensive at the store. I don't make use of it that often; it will expire if not used. You need it right now."

"Thank you, Su-Yeon."

"You're welcome. I'm glad I got the chance to pay you back as well!"

Si-Hun looked down and smiled faintly.

"I'll leave now, but I'll check on you for a few days. And also, I'm bringing you the tube."

"Okay."

She got up from there and left.

She came back again with that tube and handed it to Si-Hun.

"Here. Take it and don't forget to use it every day. I'll check on you tomorrow."

"You don't need to check up on me every day. It's not even that serious."

"It is. I know my field! Don't deny and take care!"

Si-Hun gave up and nodded.

"Bye!" With that, she left.

Si-Hun called for Kuro.

"Kuro!"

He came out of the room.

"You called me master?"

"Yes. Su-Yeon gave me this tube and instructed me to use it regularly. Keep it in the medicine drawer."

"But, how did you get hurt?"

"It's…another one of those disguises."
