Chapter 166 - Chapter 138: Joker Returns

In the midst of flashing blades and swords, sparks flew between the two.

The Laughing Bat breathed heavily, not only from the battle with Su Ming, but also because of the news Su Ming had revealed which made his heart restless.

He didn't want to admit what Su Ming said, but all the actions of this Deathstroke could only make sense if he came from outside the comic world.

But if the outside, which he considered the 'real' world, is also being manipulated, then this cycle is unbreakable. No matter how many walls he breaks through, into whatever world he enters, he is always controlled by unseen fate.

He just wanted to free everyone from the shackles, from being manipulated by fate, but if the outside is the same, what should he do?

Whatever the case, he must find a way out and then decide, there will always be a way...Now he must first deal with this Deathstroke to talk about the future.

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind, and the Laughing Bat calmed down. He decided to use the weaknesses of Deathstroke he had discovered before.

This Deathstroke seems to have a good impression of the Justice League members, so why not start with them?

Having thought it through, he instantly pulled a few Bat Darts from his belt and threw them towards the unconscious Barry, the black darts seemingly blending into the surrounding darkness, nearly invisible to the naked eye as they flew toward their target.

Su Ming couldn't let him kill Barry right in front of his eyes. He immediately shot at those Bat Darts, aiming at the balance points to change their flight paths.

Diana herself is invulnerable, and the Joker is obviously unrelated to Deathstroke, so the Laughing Bat's target on The Flash was a stroke of luck.

After tossing the Bat Darts, the Laughing Bat didn't even look, directly slashing at Su Ming with a Great Sword. Su Ming was busy shooting at the Bat Darts, and although he saw the attack, he could not evade significantly due to the Laughing Bat's tricky dart throwing, where the darts shielded many shooting angles.

He was limited in the angles he could shoot precisely, but Su Ming made his own choices.

"Bang bang bang..."

"Screech screech screech..."

All the Bat Darts had their directions altered, embedding deeply into the stone pillars around Barry, none hitting but extremely close and very dangerous.

"Swish!"

Su Ming's abdomen got a cut, despite his Promethium Metal Armor being broken through. Originally, N Metal is not as hard as Promethium, but combined with the Fire God's forging technique and Divine Power, it's different.

The wound wasn't big, not enough to spill intestines, but it was a wound nonetheless.

Su Ming touched his belly, finding it full of blood. Such an injury would take about a minute to self-heal, but can he really get a minute now that the Laughing Bat has discovered his weakness?

Sure enough, the Laughing Bat started laughing, he pulled out a few more Bat Darts from his belt, these adorned with flickering red lights.

They were Bat Dart Bombs.

He threw them towards Barry and the others with interest, curious to see how Deathstroke would handle it.

As long as he stands still and shoots at the Bat Darts, the Laughing Bat would immediately give him another wound. If Deathstroke distanced and shot, the Laughing Bat would sneak into the darkness to escape.

He had plenty of bombs.

He was still Batman, his stealth skills excellent, and withdrawing now could earn him more chances in the future, Deathstroke would not catch him.

The Laughing Bat hoped that Deathstroke would back off, allowing him to retreat entirely.

Unexpectedly, Deathstroke didn't move at all and instead proactively attacked with his sword.

"What's going on?" The Laughing Bat hurriedly blocked, but was pushed back several steps by Su Ming's strength: "Do you not care about their lives?"

Su Ming didn't reply, and almost in the next moment, the two were surrounded by explosions, the Bat Darts previously thrown out intercepted in mid-air, enveloping them both in smoke.

The Laughing Bat had Dark Energy protection, and Su Ming had Armor; this explosion, at most, shook them a bit.

But unexpected things kept happening, and the Laughing Bat turned his head to look behind him, at where the three should have been blown away.

Through the smoke, a figure appeared to be laughing wildly as if having a fit, holding a gun, supporting his forehead with his wrist, laughing heartily.

"Hahaha ha ha ha!!!! Oh gosh, how exhausting! Hahaha!!!"

Even before seeing the person, just by the sound, you knew who it was.

As the smoke cleared, they could see the Joker leisurely tidying his hair, sniffing and tilting his head a bit.

Somehow, he had escaped from consciousness, using the Bat Darts embedded around Barry to cut the ropes, and then pulled out a gun to blow up all the bombs.

The Joker's marksmanship wasn't particularly accurate, but what did that matter? Shooting more often would always compensate.

And if he couldn't hit the flying bombs at all?

He never thought about it; if there were a guaranteed win in every game, wouldn't that be boring?

"Joker."

The Laughing Bat coldly said this name, this madman indeed brought him surprises as usual.

"Hmm? Seems like someone's calling Uncle Jack?" The Joker smiled gleefully, covering his eyes: "But I can't see, you want candy? Mistaken identity! Hahaha..."

"How did you wake up?" The Laughing Bat warily sidled over, keeping an eye on both Deathstroke and the Joker, the situation turning unfavorable, and he was being pincered front and back.

The Joker put away his gun, which fired not bullets, but small flags with a Joker face painted on them, like the kind stuck into a giant hamburger.

He clasped his hands together, resting his pale cheek on the back of his hands, leaning his head to make a sleeping gesture, eyes straight on the Laughing Bat, wearing the Joker's signature huge grin.

He and the Laughing Bat looked like brothers.

"Isn't it true that Bats still doesn't have humor? Haha, friends, isn't it common sense that beside a truly sleeping person, there's always one pretending to sleep? Hahahahahahaha!"

Hidden in the Bat Cave, his mad mind never lacked whimsical ideas. Until then, the Laughing Bat had never seen him standing; he, after leading the Watcher to the Bat Cave, only saw the unconscious Joker.

Indeed, the Joker had used anesthetics on himself, making him faint, wanting to play games with Batman.

This game's name was 'Coming Home Every Day to Find Joker Playing Dead.'

In the Main World, Bruce always locked the Joker in Arkham, but breaking out was as easy for him as drinking water, so later, Bruce locked him in the lowest dungeon of his Bat Cave.

Only during the Metal Event, Bruce wandered the world looking for metal, persuaded by the Dream God. The Justice League couldn't find him, so they sent Hal to investigate.

Bruce had left Blue Beetle to guard the place, so while one wanted in, the other wouldn't let him, leading Hal and Blue Beetle into a fight.

Their ruckus was too big, unintentionally letting the Joker escape from the bottom floor.

At first, it seemed Joker fell into the dark river beneath the Bat Cave to escape, but he somehow returned after circling around.

He wanted to keep playing with Batman, being locked in the Bat Cave was nice, seeing Batman every day. Harley broke up with him, and he had nowhere else to go, others weren't interesting.

The Bat Cave was great, everyone there was talented, they spoke nicely, and he loved being there.

So, the Laughing Bat could be said to have stumbled upon the unconscious Joker, unaware that he had long since awakened, merely feigning unconsciousness.

After all, he carried the Dionysus Factor, full of frantic and hyperactive thoughts, anesthesia had little effect on him.

The Joker originally planned to jump up to give Batman a 'surprise' when Batman helped him, but this Batman wasn't the one he wanted.

But he wouldn't miss out on such fun. He just kept pretending to be unconscious, after all, his complexion was always pale, playing dead was a basic skill for the Joker.

Unfortunately, he found that the Laughing Bat was not only unlike Batman, but more like himself.

This displeased him greatly.
