Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Andora Everblack

The three servants looked at each other before they nodded. One of them spoke and said, "Then, Young Master Kyrell, please help us convince the Young Miss."

Kyrell nodded his head in affirmation, and the three servants gave the two of them some space. As for the girl, she ignored everything around her, and she just continued to cry.

Such a pathetic display displeases Kyrell. Weakness itself is a sin, but if you let yourself be weak without doing anything, that is worse than sin.

"Do you plan to cry until you die?" Kyrell asked coldly, and the girl looked at him angrily.

"W-what d-did you s-say?!"

Kyrell sneered, and he crouched down so that the two of them were facing each other. Gone was the friendly and harmless face he gave to the servants.

His eyes, as red as blood, gave off a menacing and dangerous light, and the girl momentarily stopped crying, fear slowly sprouting in her heart.

"I said, are you just going to cry until you die?" Kyrell repeated, his tone even colder than before.

"W-what do you want?! M-my t-twin brother just d-died! H-how can I-I not c-cry?!"

"So, since your brother died, you will cry until you die. Is that what you want?"

"Y-you... f-fine! If I d-die so w-what? I-it might even b-be a good thing. I-If I die I-I will be w-with my b-brother again!"

The look of defiance in the girl's teary eyes satisfied Kyrell, and he gave a playful smile.

"Since you want to die, why don't I help you?"

"H-huh?"

The girl was confused by Kyrell's words, but soon, her eyes widened in shock. She felt an invisible substance wrapping around her neck and choking her.

"Did you know, I saw you and your brother before we entered the Bloodline Pool. You were so afraid and anxious that your brother had no choice but to swallow his own fear to comfort you." Kyrell said while the girl tried to remove the invisible force, choking her neck.

It might not be hard to remove Kyrell's force, considering that he just became an Ascendant today, but with the failing and weak mentality of this girl, she cannot muster much power. Her resistance was not enough to save her.

"S-stop! W-what are y-you doing?!" The girl forced out, veins popping on her neck.

"How can you be so selfish? You only care about your own emotions. Your brother must have wanted to be comforted as well, but in this clan, who can do that? Your mother? Your father, who does not care if his children die?"

"Or is it his sister who is even more afraid than him? How sad it is for him to die without anyone comforting him. He must have lived his whole life caring for someone as weak-willed as you are."

"Your brother has no choice but to be strong even when he wasn't. How much suffering did he endure inside without letting it show? It might even be the reason why he failed and died today."

"After all, isn't it easier to just die than take care of such a weak sister? Instead of living his whole life while taking care of a useless sister, why not just die?"

"The strong brother died due to the stress his sister brought, while the sister survived and even became a darling of the clan. Tsk, tsk, tsk, how sad is that?"

Every single word that came out of Kyrell's mouth was like daggers stabbing directly into the girl's heart. As long as the girl is not a complete fool, she would have some ideas that her brother was only trying to be strong for her.

Of course, Kyrell does not know the full story. He just thinks that the display of the brother trying to be strong in front of his sister while hiding his own fear does not seem to be new.

Anyone with a little bit of imagination can guess the lives that these two lived, and it seems like Kyrell was right.

The girl's face paled not because of the lack of air but because of the realization. She definitely knows that her brother is also under pressure, she just chose to ignore is so that the weaker "her" would be the one to receive comfort.

Most people would choose to be comforted rather than the one giving comfort. That is simply human nature.

"You can't even do something for your brother. How pathetic" Kyrell sneered, and the girl's eyes became even more teary.

She lowered her hand that she was using to try and break the force on her neck. Her eyes were dimming as if she were just waiting for death.

"D-do it... kill m-me" she said weakly, and Kyrell smirked internally. He did it, he completely broke her and made her drown in even more despair.

He removed the force wrapped around the girl's neck before he could accidentally kill her.

"Are you that weak-willed? You really want to die just like that? Don't you want to take revenge?"

"R-revenge?"

"Hahaha! Don't tell me you haven't thought of it? Do you think your brother died by accident? Tsk, if he wasn't forced to enter the Bloodline Pool, would he even die?"

"Y-you... d-do you want me to take r-revenge on the clan?"

The girl looked at Kyrell in astonishment. Revenge on the clan... she indeed never thought of that, but she can't be blamed much.

All Everblack kids are indoctrinated and taught to sacrifice everything for the clan's glory. It was quite effective, and many clansmen are willing to die for the clan.

Of course, there are also smart or selfish people. The smart people knew the clan only wanted cannon fodder, while the selfish one would rather massacre their clan rather than die.

"Think of it... is the clan really innocent of your brother's death?" Kyrell whispered like the devil in the girl's ears. Planting a dark seed inside her.

"Y-you..."

The girl's body trembled. Deep inside her, she naturally blames her father and the clan. Why do people like her and her brother have to enter the Bloodline Pool even though there is a 50% mortality rate? Is this really what a family should do?

"I-I c-can't... my b-brother... he l-loves the clan... I-I cannot do it..."

After hearing that, Kyrell knitted his brows. He miscalculated, or more likely, it was because he was lacking information.

He thought that he could turn this girl into his lackey, but he didn't know that her brother actually loves the clan. What a foolish guy.

With a sigh, Kyrell decided that this was a failure, and he stood up. If he can't turn this girl into a useful ally, then so be it.

"Fine, it's your choice. I just hope you won't regret it"

Kyrell turned his back and was about to continue heading to the clan's library as he originally planned when the girl spoke again.

"My brother loves the clan, and I cannot destroy it. But I... I cannot live without my brother... I need my brother so that I can live... but since he is dead now... why... why don't you become my brother?"

Those words caused Kyrell to halt, and he turned his head back to the girl who was looking at him with desperation while biting her lower lip.

It took Kyrell a moment to absorb and analyze things before he broke into a fit of loud laughter.

"Hahaha! I see! I see!" Kyrell said while laughing loudly.

This girl's personality is that of a brocon. She and her brother were twins and grew up depending on each other. They are each other's life and hope. Without each other, only despair remains.

For two people to grow up with only each other to rely on, how can dependency not grow between them?

Now that the girl's brother died, she has no will to live unless she changes the target of her dependency, and coincidentally, Kyrell came today to break her and make her hate the clan.

It was a great coincidence indeed.

"Hahaha! Fine, fine. I will become your brother. From now on, I am your most important person."

Everblack Clan... With such a rotten environment, how can people be normal?

Kyrell is not shy about using people, and this girl has a brother obsession. Both of them are twisted people, and surely, they are not the only twisted people in the clan.

"My sister, tell me your name" Kyrell said with a smile while lowering his hand for the girl to pick up.

"Andora... my name is Andora... brother..."
