Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Misty's Pokemon Levels, Ash Seizes Pidgeotto's Fate by the Scruff

In the group, Ash is a pinnacle existence in various fields, and everyone is an impressive figure in their own world.

But this also means they are already set in their ways, standing at the top of a certain field, and can only remain at that peak.

If they want to shift roles or learn other knowledge and skills, unless there's commonality, like Tactical Ash and Champion Ash, they won't study other fields. Even if they do, they can't stand at the top of that field like other Ashes.

However, the new Ash is different. He belongs to the stage of knowing nothing yet being able to learn everything.

The Ash in the group represents the possibilities of developing in other directions for Ash in each parallel world, which means, theoretically, Newbie Ash holds the potential of every Ash in parallel worlds.

He has the potential to become a Breeder, Tactical Master, top Trainer, top Fisherman, Mechanician, Chef, and so on.

Therefore, all the Ashs in the group discussed and unanimously agreed on one thing: to cultivate the new Ash into an unprecedented all-round Ash!

If this could really be achieved, the impact on the world of the new Ash would be extremely overwhelming, perhaps... he could accomplish what no Ash has ever been able to do: to defeat the Creator God of the Pokemon world—Arceus!

But these are just imaginations, whether it can be done depends on how much potential Newbie Ash can unleash and whether he is willing to learn from the people in the group.

Fortunately, even though there's a lot to learn in the group, Newbie Ash never thought of giving up. To become a Pokemon Master, he is indeed willing to give it all.

The group members also did not tell Newbie Ash their expectations, or the goals they want him to achieve. Doing so would put too much pressure on Newbie Ash.

Now, Newbie Ash is progressing steadily, and everything is heading in a good direction.

...

After Ash prepared food for Metapod and Pikachu, he also asked Misty to release her Pokemon.

Among the Pokemon Misty carries, except for one Goldeen, the other two can survive on land, but they can't live on land for too long, or they would lack water. But it's fine to let them out for a meal.

"Come out, my sweeties~~" Misty called out sweetly as she released her two Pokemon, Staryu with a brown body and a small gemstone in the middle, and Starmie with a sea blue body and a dazzling red gem in the middle.

Starmie is the evolution of Staryu, a piece of knowledge Ash newly learned from the group, which made him wonder why Misty captured two of the same kind of Pokemon?

However, these are insignificant matters. This was the first time in three days that Misty released her Pokemon. Pokemon in a Pokeball maintain a minimal energy consumption, so it's fine even if they don't eat for a week.

It was also Ash's first time seeing Misty's Pokemon's levels — Elite Level!

Starmie, Elite Peak.

Staryu, Elite Advanced Level.

One is just a step away from Professional Level, and the other is also at Elite Advanced, which explains why Misty would say such things back then.

If Pikachu were to battle Misty's two Pokemon at that time, the winning chance would be almost zero.

As for now... who knows?

Misty had specialized Pokemon food for Starmie and the others, but she didn't carry much, and Ash didn't recognize the brand.

"Misty, where did you buy this? The symbol on this food... why is it like a water droplet?" Ash curiously asked, looking at the water droplet symbol on the packaging of the Starmie-specific food.

Like the Pokemon food in malls and supermarkets, they all have manufacturer marks, which Ash is familiar with, but Misty's one is new to him.

"Uh... haha, this is produced by a small Water Type Pokemon food supplier, not very famous, so it's normal you don't know it."

"Is that so? Misty, are you hiding something from me?"

"What could I be hiding from you, you're just too sensitive, aren't you?"

"Really?" Ash's face gradually approached Misty, causing cold sweat to form on her as he was about five centimeters away from her face, then suddenly backed off.

"Never mind, after all, we've only been together for a few days, it's understandable not to say too much, but I believe as we spend more time together, you'll surely trust me." Ash said with hands on hips and a face full of smiles.

"Being... together? You mean traveling together!!"

"Hmm? Isn't it the same?"

"No, it's not the same!!"

...

After a minor episode, the two and all the Pokemon had a delightful lunch.

After eating and drinking their fill, they tidied up, prepared for a rest, and were ready to set off again when a flash of light shot towards Metapod beside Ash.

With quick reflexes, Ash caught the figure attempting to attack Metapod, grasping the fate of its nape.

"What the heck? A Pidgeotto?" After catching it, Ash finally saw its appearance, realizing it was a Pidgeotto, the evolution of Kanto's home bird Pidgey.

In the Kanto Region, Pidgey is a common Flying Type Pokemon, known as the home bird like Spearow, but Pidgey is docile and more suitable for Newbie Trainers.

However, once Pidgey evolves into Pidgeotto, its temperament is no less fierce, making it difficult for newbies to handle.

But no matter how fierce it is, when being grabbed by the nape during a dive by a human, unable to resist, even the fiercest temperament becomes docile.

Is this even humanly possible?

"Hey, what were you trying to do to my Metapod?" Ash pulled Pidgeotto to his eyes, revealing a mischievous look in his eyes.

This creature seemed like it wanted to eat his Metapod!

"Pid... Pidgey..." Pidgeotto was dripping a bit of sweat from its forehead, protesting that it didn't do anything, it just found Metapod familiar, so it came to say hello.

"Is that so?"

"Pidgeotto!!"

"Then I'll believe you. Let's have a battle, if you win, I'll let you go, if you lose, then you'll become my Pokemon."

"Pidge?"

"What?" Not only Pidgeotto, even Misty was bewildered, why the sudden capture battle?

In these past few days, Ash has encountered many Pokemon, but besides Caterpie, he hasn't taken action. He even encountered Spearow and Pidgey but didn't capture them.

How come after encountering this Pidgeotto, Ash wants to capture it? Does he not want to train from Pidgey?

Of course, the answer is not as Misty guessed.

The reason Ash wants to capture this Pidgeotto is due to... suggestions from the group members and the strong qualifications of this Pidgeotto.
