Chapter 8 - Friend or foe

Tiny bits of sunlight rays flooded in through the window not properly covered with thick curtains.

Dylan was laying down on the bed completely exhausted, he was carried back to his villa by his beta.

The pack meeting didn't hold because of the state he was in the previous night.

The whole household was worried and waited patiently for him to wake up.

Dylan's mother, Giana, who was an Omega, rushed to the villa and immediately heard the news of what happened.

She was told by the beta events of the past night.

Giana was also told about the Red wolf and she was so shocked.

She was deeply troubled and surprised.

She was well aware of the fact that the Red wolves were legendary and it was really rare to get to see one.

The last Red wolf that existed was killed in an ambush and since then there hadn't been any records of spotting a Red wolf.

Gianna knew that only when Red wolves are mated to lycan wolves will they become more powerful and be able to use their power fully

She left Dylan's house and went straight to their pack witch.

She needed answers.

"Annabelle, what's wrong with my son? Gaina asked the witch impatiently.

"There's absolutely nothing wrong with him, your highness," Anabelle replied to Giana respectfully.

"Annabelle don't play the dumb game with me and tell me what's wrong" Giana requested politely this time.

"Well my queen as it appears, Dylan has come in contact with his fated mate. The Red Wolf is his mate and he was so weak because of the power she possessed, he'll be just fine".

"Who is this wolf?, we absolutely know nothing about her as she fled almost as soon as she came." Giana asked.

"She is the Luna of the second oder, she's one of the strongest Wolves alive. Immediately after the lycan she's next." The witch explained patiently.

Giana was really surprised at the explanation, she pondered on it for a while then thanked the witch and left.

A Red wolf?!, well things were getting more interesting.

Back at the villa, Dylan's eyelids twitched slightly indicating that he was showing signs of waking up.

His eyelids rolled open slowly, his eyes were not really opened bright but they were opened enough for him to see where he was.

He was still very weak, so he closed his eyes and opened them again.

His memory was blank, he was struggling to remember the past day's events when his beta arrived.

Billy entered into the room where Dylan was only to find him fully awake and removing all the I.V drips that were connected to his hands.

Deep down Billy had expected Dylan to do what he was doing when he was awake.

Billy also knew that Dylan needed those things that were connected to him to be stronger and less weaker.

"What happened to me?" Dylan asked, sitting upright on the bed running his hand through his hair.

"You passed out yesterday boss" Billy reported to Dylan, his head slightly bowed.

He secretly prayed that Dylan wouldn't ask more questions as he didn't know how he would tell him that he passed out after coming in touch with his mate.

Everybody knew that they were mates but what they didn't know was why Dylan passed out immediately after accepting the mate bond.

The most interesting part was that she was a Red Wolf. Everything sounded so mysterious.

Red wolves were originally supposed to be mates to lycans, but since no Red Wolves were in existence anymore they were mated to available Omega's and others she-wolves.

"I passed out yesterday?" Dylan muttered to himself

Then slowly, memories of the previous nights events started coming back to him. He remembered feeling weak and falling down.

He remembered being in a dark place, with no way for him to come out, he also remembered a faint minty vanilla scent that put him at ease in the dark place he was.

Then a tiny but firm voice calling out to him not to be afraid.

He head was aching as he was remembering all of what happened the previous day.

"That's our mate" Raven said to Dylan.

Dylan held his head and tried to get himself together as the pain in his head was increasing.

Billy put his hands in his pocket and brought out his phone to dial a number.

"Hello doctor?, he has woken up, your attention is urgently needed."

"I'm somewhere in the garden, I'll be right there" The doctor said hurriedly.

Billy didn't dare to get close to Dylan, he just stood by and watched him groan in pain.

That was the law that Dylan set, no matter what he was feeling or the pain he was in, nobody was allowed to inquire about how he was feeling or where he was hurting.

After some minutes, the doctor walked into the Yates villa infirmary which was where Dylan was.

Immediately the doctor saw the state Dylan was in, he rushed immediately to give him shots of sedative.

He was in so much pain, the doctor took a quick glance at Billy and saw that he was indifferent.

He didn't show any sign of concern for his boss at all.

How could his so called boss be in so much pain while he stood there and did absolutely nothing.

The doctor got to work, he touched Dylan's pulse and saw that his pulse was weak, this was very strange because he knew Dylan to be very strong and plus he was a lycan wolf.

Lycans don't really go down like that except they're been shot by silver and in this case, it wasn't showing that he was shot by silver.

He looked at Dylan's hands and immediately knew why his pulse was weak.

The doctor turned to Billy and asked "who removed his IV fluids?"

"He did it himself," Billy replied, not blinking a bit.

"And you couldn't stop him?" The doctor finally asked.

"Do what you were called to do" Billy replied this time staring coldly at the doctor.

The doctor now feeling a chilly sensation behind his back, gulped and faced what he was assigned to do.

There was something dangerous about Billy's gaze just now.

He fixed back the IV fluids and touched Dylan's pulse again, it was getting better slowly.

He picked up his briefcase and stood in front of Billy.

"I've given him two shots of sedative, he should wake up tomorrow, that way it'll make the IV fluids work even more, please keep him under observation,if there's any problem do not hesitate to call me" He said to Billy.

"Understood, you may leave now". Billy said gesturing towards the exit door of the infirmary.

The doctor gave Dylan a last look before walking out of the infirmary.

After making sure that the doctor was out, Billy reached for his phone and dialed a number.

"A Red wolf have been spotted sir". with that he disconnected the call and smirked.
