His eyes were glued to the screen of his laptop on which he was typing at a very fast and furious pace.
In the darkness, there was a slight sound of clinking glasses.
Dylan tightened his fist in rage, his face was void of any kind of expression, making it hard to guess what he was thinking at that moment.
He picked up his glass of half filled scotch from the table beside him and walked slowly towards Billy.
"Get the jet ready. We're flying to Philan city in an hour"
He said and then took a sip from his glass before walking away.
Shivers of fear ran down Billy's spine as he tried to comfort himself so as not to make mistakes.
He contacted Dylan's personal pilot to get the jet ready, that they were going to Philan city in the next one hour.
Immediately it was done he texted Dylan "All done boss!".
Meanwhile Dylan was on his balcony, sipping his drink slowly and enjoying the beautiful scene and cool atmosphere of the night.
He had a good view of the whole of Gold city from up there.
Then there was a ding in his pocket, followed by a short time flashing of light, he had received a message on WeChat.
He knew it was from Billy, He looked up at the sky making a mental note to get ready in 40 minutes time.
His mind wandered off to what Billy had reported to him minutes ago.
A familiar ache stabbed close to his heart, he made an effort to ignore it as he didn't want to start thinking of the past all over again.
He drowned the whole content in the glass cup in one go and angrily threw the glass cup down from the balcony.
The cup fell making a sharp shattering sound in the dead of the night.
Dylan closed his eyes and tried to force out the past painful scenes that were conjuring up in his mind, the feeling was just overwhelming.
He wanted to forget those past pains that made him feel worthless.
Dylan stepped back till he bumped into the wall behind him.
He pressed himself into the wall, wanting to merge his body into the wall hoping he could disappear from the reality of things and also hoping he'll find peace there.
Dylan didn't realize that he was crouching down on the floor till he felt the coldness of the floor beneath him.
He ran his hands through his hair as he realized that the pain was getting the better part of him, making him a mess of himself.
It's really been tough for him. After sitting in that position for what felt like ages, he stood up reaching for the rail to support himself.
Dylan took a deep breath and left the balcony.
He went straight to the master bedroom to take a quick shower.
Immediately after he finished, he phoned his personal maid to get his luggage ready and also phoned Billy telling him to book a suite in the same hotel Damien and Ava was in.
These tasks took about 30 minutes. After everything was ready, Billy sent some heelers in to escort Dylan out to the rooftop helipad where the helicopter was.
The loud sound of the swirling helicopter blades were everywhere, Dylan followed closely by 4 of his heelers walked briskly to the helicopter.
Dylan, Billy and two heelers got into the helicopter.
With an approving nod from Billy, the helicopter was sent flying into the air by the pilot.
The journey took about 45 minutes, all the while inside the helicopter Dylan was so anxious that he didn't noticed that his palms were sweating.
Billy couldn't help but feel a pang of worry as he noticed that his high and mighty aloof boss was actually fidgeting.
Dylan was so not himself, different thoughts ran through his head at that moment, he was thinking about so many things.
Immediately the helicopter touched down, Dylan was the first to jump out of the helicopter not even waiting for his heelers to open the door for him.
He got out of the helicopter and walked fastly to the waiting Mercedes-Maybach s-class, other cars were packed behind the car.
Billy rushed after him so as not to be left behind. The car was put into gear and it sped off.
10 minutes later Dylan groaned irritably and said "move this car faster".
"Yes sir," came the swift reply from the driver. The driver accelerated his speed thereby defying all traffic orders.
"We'll be there soon sir" Billy said to Dylan trying to reassure him and to calm his frayed nerves.
Dylan turned to face Billy with a deadly stare and said "I don't want to be there soon, I want to be there now!!".
Billy shook in fear, the driver also gulped and focused on his high speed limit trying his best not to piss Dylan.
Billynoticed that Dylan's fierceness had doubled.
He turned his face and kept his head forward, not daring to look sideways or even breathe.
The atmosphere inside the car was tense. In less than 15 minutes, they arrived at Hillcrest gardens and suites.
While still inside the car Dylan told Billy to find out the number of the room where Ava and Damien were checked in, with that he got out of the car.
Billy spoke into his earpiece and instructed their tech guy at gold city to hack into the Hotel's registration system to check it out.
40 seconds later Billy got the information he wanted.
He got out of the car, walked round and went to meet Dylan where he stood and whispered the room number into his ears.
Dylan nodded and with that he walked into the building and went straight to the receptionist.
On getting there she smiled at him and said "you're welcome Master Dylan, this is your key card" and reached out her hands to give Dylan the key card.
Dylan took the card from her and went straight to the elevator. He pushed the button to the last floor which was the 30th floor.
His patience was wearing thin, he wanted to shoot up through the elevator and burst straight into the room where Ava and Damien were.
Billy and the other heelers waited for him downstairs, they didn't dare move an inch.
They were well aware that it was a personal matter and weren't supposed to interfere not even Billy.
With a ding the elevator opened, he got out immediately and started walking down the hallway all the while looking at each door for room 3006.
He passed room 3003, 3004, 3005.....then he quickened his pace and ran to room 3006, it was at the end of the hallway.
On getting there, his hand trembled. This was what he had been waiting to do all day but getting there his head was a mess, what was he gonna tell her when she finally opened the door.
He looked out through the window that was at the end of the hallway and stared at the starry sky lost in deep thoughts
He heaved a sigh and decided to turn back and leave.
Just as he was about to turn back, the room door opened, making him turn back sharply.
The person at the door was none other than Ava.
She was dressed in a sleek black dress, her heels were in her hands, her hair disheveled.
Her makeup smeared all over her face, she was really a mess at that moment. She looked really frail and weak.
Immediately she locked eyes with Dylan she screamed and lost consciousness.
