Ava blinked her eyes twice , the bright rays of the sun shone directly in her face making her shut them quickly.
she opened them again but this time slowly making sure her eyes adjusted to the bright lights.
She felt a throbbing pain in her head, she instinctively reached out her hands to touch her head giving it a gentle rub.
she slowly sat up, she looked around and saw that everywhere was bright.
The windows were rolled up flooding her whole room with sunlight.
She tried to remember what had happened the previous night but she couldn't instead her head ached more.
She looked down and was startled to see that she was naked. She immediately used the bed covers to cover up herself.
She looked around the bed looking for Aurora but she wasn't there.
Ava reached for her phone which she put under her pillow the previous night to check the time.
It was 9:20 already, Ava panicked and rushed to the wardrobe room to put on some clothes.
"why the hell did I wake up late?" she muttered to herself remembering that she had to take care of Aurora and also prepare her for school.
She got dressed, packed her hair into a rough bun and rushed out of the room.
while she was going out of her room, she noticed her night wear on the floor torn to shreds.
The only thing that was in her mind at that moment was where Aurora was.
While going to the living room she called "Aurora!" She got no response. She called again still the same thing.
A surge of fear waved at her and she panicked, she ran to the sitting room and found it empty.
She looked around, nobody was in the living room. She sniffed the air and unexpectedly it smelt like waffles and jelly.
She had a puzzled look on her face, who could have entered her kitchen in the early hours of the morning just to make waffles.
It couldn't be Aurora, her hands couldn't reach the grill talk more of the waffle maker.
She started getting scared the more, her mind flashed back to the events of the previous day.
Her heart clenched in fear. She was fervently hoping it wasn't what she was thinking.
Ava paced back and forth around the house trying to convince herself that Aurora was just somewhere around the house.
Ava called Aurora's name again, she wasn't still responding.
Ava couldn't take it anymore she ran upstairs to grab her keys and hurried downstairs, only to find her best friend Charlotte smith seated on the couch munching happily on a waffle.
"Charlotte!, Charlotte oh thank goodness you're here, I think something has happened to Aurora, I can't find her anywhere in the house, we slept together with her beside me, I woke up this morning not seeing her. I..I…. I'm so scared honestly you have to help me….. please I....." Ava rushed to Charlotte and started rambling.
Charlotte looked at Ava with surprise, she was sweating profusely, her hair a mess, she was looking agitated.
"Calm down Ava, Aurora's not in any danger". Charlotte said trying to calm Ava down.
"And how do you know that, I mean I can't find her!, I can't f*cking find my daughter and you sit here and tell me to calm down?!! Hell No!". Ava screamed completely losing her mind.
"Trust me bitch! Aurora's fine, she's in school, I took her to school this morning" Charlotte explained taking another bite.
"Wait what?, you mean you took Aurora to school this morning?" Ava asked surprised at what she was hearing.
"Yeah!" Charlotte replied chewing on the waffle not even glancing up at Ava.
"Why didn't you want wake me up?" Ava requested. "Oh shit! I think something's wrong with me!" Ava exclaimed again burying her head into her hands.
"Well you had an episode again last nigh, so I had to help Aurora with her preparation for school" Charlotte said taking another bite from her waffles.
"Was it full moon yesterday?" Ava asked surprised.
"You forgot again?" Charlotte asked knowingly and rolled her eyes.
Ava always lost track of time, she always doesn't remember full moon days.
Ava looked at the waffles in Charlotte's hands and suddenly she had a very strong urge to eat.
Without thinking she snatched the waffles away from Charlotte and munched into it.
"Heyy!, That's mine bitch". Charlotte pouted clearly annoyed.
"Urgh! You made enough, quit whining and go get yourself another and also get me more cause I'm starving!!".
Ava said munching greedily into the waffles and shoving the remaining ones into her mouth. Immediately she got back from work the previous day she didn't have time to eat.
"I'll definitely get back at you" Charlotte muttered and stood up for the kitchen.
She came back with a bowl of freshly made waffles and jam.
While preparing Aurora for school that morning she made quite a lot.
She went back again to make tea for herself and Ava.
Sitting down she handed one tea mug over to Ava.
"Ava! last night episode was much more worse than before, this is the 3rd full moon this year and Emily's completely out of control."
"You disrupted a pack's meeting yesternight. You were in a trance and out of control. Charlotte said to Ava clearly displeased.
"Oh my gosh char, I had no idea. you know sometimes I don't have a hold of myself. I crossed paths with a tyrant yesterday, but trust me when I say I was fine when I went to bed". Ava said staring at nothing in particular
"You were fine! Emily wasn't, Well there's bad news and good news" Charlotte said turning her face sideways trying to avoid eye contact with Ava.
"Charlotte look at me and tell what's going on" Ava demanded from Charlotte.
"Bad news is You've been discovered" Charlotte said to her leaning back on the couch.
Ava stopped what she was doing immediately she heard what Charlotte said. She had expected it.
She knew it couldn't be hidden for ever but she didn't want it to be let out now, she was trying to balance a lot things.
"How many people saw me?" Ava asked trying to reassure herself that everything was alright.
"A whole pack" Charlotte replied in a dejected voice.
"Any damages?" Ava asked again hoping it'll turn out good this time.
"Yes a lot" Charlotte replied.
Ava heard what Charlotte said loud and clear but for some reasons unknown to her she was surprisingly calm.
Her actions surprised her the most because this was something she had been trying to hide since she was 18.
She's finally hearing that it got out and she's unusually calm.
"Good news is you've found your mate" Charlotte said to her grinning from ear to ear.
Ava reached for another slice of waffle and munched on it slowly.
Charlotte was also surprised at Ava's reaction.
Obviously she had expected Ava to squeal out in excitement but to her surprise she wasn't doing any of that.
"You're not saying anything?" Charlotte asked gently trying to get Ava to talk.
Charlotte wanted to know what was going on in Ava's mind.
"What do you want me to say?" Ava asked staring deep into Charlotte's eyes.
Charlotte had been Ava's friend for ages and when it came to any other person that understood Ava really well, it was sure going to be Charlotte.
"Talking about Emily!, you said you crossed paths with a tyrant yesterday, what happened?". Charlotte said turning to Ava suddenly curious.
Ava had her tea mug in her mouth, she turned her face to Charlotte still with the mug in her mouth and said nothing but sipping the tea so loudly disgusting Charlotte.
"Fine don't talk!, stop doing that" Charlotte said turning back to balance on the couch.
If there was one thing Charlotte hated, it was munching loudly when eating or sipping a drink loudly.
Ava suddenly remembered something and put the mug on the table before asking Charlotte.
"Charlotte, Aurora's hair was glowing yesterday night".
Charlotte hands that were reaching for the Tv remote on the coffee table freezed in mid air.
"What did you just say?" Charlotte asked with a perplexed face trying to be sure of what she heard.
"Aurora's hair was really glowing yesterday night". Ava repeated what she said looking at Charlotte with uncertain fearful eyes.
"Oh my God!" Charlotte whimpered and put her hands on her mouth.
Ava was agitated and worried, Charlotte reactions were far too serious to be simple.
"Charlotte calm down and tell me what's wrong with my daughter". Ava demanded slowly from Charlotte with a calm expression.
"Ava we need to get Aurora from school right now!!". Charlotte said with a very serious and determined face.
