# Chapter 21: The Power of the Obelisk Commander
"My turn! Draw!" Yūga Hōzumi drew a card.
"I activate the Spell Card, Dododo Draw! I send one 'Dododo' monster from my hand to the Graveyard to draw two cards!"
"Next, I summon Gagaga Sister in Attack Position! When Gagaga Sister is successfully summoned, I can add one 'Gagaga' Spell or Trap Card from my Deck to my hand."
"I'll add Gagaga Raigeki to my hand!"
"I activate the Spell Card, Gagaga Raigeki!"
"If I control a 'Gagaga' monster, I can target one card on the field and destroy it."
Gagaga Sister slowly swung her small staff, and a bolt of lightning struck down.
"Quick-Play Spell, Forbidden Dress, activate! I target one face-up monster on the field. Until the end of the turn, that monster loses 600 ATK, and it cannot be targeted or destroyed by other card effects."
Destiny HERO - Dystopia Guy ATK: 2800→2200
A golden curtain of light appeared on Dystopia Guy's surface. Protected by this light, Dystopia Guy withstood the lightning strike completely unharmed.
"Then, I set two cards and end my turn." Yūga Hōzumi thought, slapping two cards cleanly onto his Duel Disk and declaring the end of his turn.
"At this moment, I activate the effect of Destiny HERO - Dystopia Guy!"
"If this card's current ATK is different from its original ATK, I can target one card on the field! That card is destroyed, and this card's ATK returns to its original value. I destroy your left-most set card! Sublime Justice!"
Dystopia Guy crossed its arms, releasing a purple, cross-shaped bolt of electricity. Yūga Hōzumi's leftmost set card instantly exploded.
"You fell for it," Yūga Hōzumi said with a cryptic smile. "Because you activated a monster effect, we rewind the End Phase. I choose to continue my turn."
"What?!" Aster Phoenix was startled.
"So, both of those cards were just bait to get me to destroy them?" Aster Phoenix's expression flickered, having been outmaneuvered.
"From my hand, I activate the effect of Zubababa Banchou - Gagaga Coat!"
"If I control a 'Zubababa' or 'Gagaga' monster other than this card, I can Special Summon this card."
"I activate the effect of Zubababa Banchou - Gagaga Coat!"
"I target one 'Gogogo' or 'Dododo' monster in my Graveyard and Special Summon it."
"Appear! Dododo Dwarf - Gogogo Glove!"
"I overlay the two Level 4 monsters on the field!"
Yūga Hōzumi pointed a finger to the sky, summoning a brilliant galaxy.
"Xyz Summon! Descend, warrior of hope! Number 39: Utopia Double!"
Utopia, its form shimmering with iridescent light, slowly descended from the galaxy, its divine radiance illuminating the night sky.
"A Number monster? So this is what defeated the Tyler Sisters?" Aster Phoenix raised his hand to block the intense light from Utopia, gritting his teeth. "But it's useless! At this moment, I activate my Trap Card, D-Hypernova!"
"If I control a 'Destiny HERO' monster and my opponent Special Summons a monster, all monsters Special Summoned to my opponent's field this turn are destroyed (anime card effect)."
As the set card activated, a fiery red 'D' flashed on Dystopia Guy's helmet. A powerful explosion instantly blasted toward Utopia Double, which had just landed and hadn't even stabilized its footing.
The force of the explosion sent Yūga Hōzumi flying again, and he crashed heavily onto the ground behind him.
"Your little tricks are useless against me," Aster Phoenix said coldly.
Yūga Hōzumi struggled to his feet, wiping a cut on his face from the flying debris. "So you had that up your sleeve? Then, I equip Gagaga Sister with the Equip Spell, Wonder Wand!"
"This card can only be equipped to a Spellcaster-Type monster. The equipped monster gains 500 ATK!"
Gagaga Sister ATK: 200→700
"Next, I activate the effect of Wonder Wand! By sending the equipped monster and this card from my field to the Graveyard, I draw two cards."
"I set two cards and end my turn." Yūga Hōzumi panted heavily, wiping the blood trickling from the corner of his mouth as he ended his turn.
Yūga Hōzumi could feel his condition deteriorating rapidly. He hadn't rested properly after his battle with Sugihara Yo, and now he'd run into another powerful opponent. The successive impacts had caused the old injuries in this body to flare up.
"I really got ahead of myself this time," Yūga Hōzumi thought, gritting his teeth.
"Are you really ending your turn this time? In that case, your struggle ends here!" Aster Phoenix said. "My turn! Draw!"
"I summon Destiny HERO - Drilldark in Attack Position!"
"When Destiny HERO - Drilldark is summoned, I can Special Summon one 'Destiny HERO' monster from my hand with an ATK less than or equal to this card's!"
"Appear! A second Destiny HERO - Drilldark!"
"With zero cards in my hand, I activate the effect of Destiny HERO - Celestial from my Graveyard! By banishing this card and one other 'Destiny HERO' monster from my Graveyard, I draw two cards."
"I banish Destiny HERO - Celestial and Destiny HERO - Decider from my Graveyard! Draw two cards!"
"Quick-Play Spell, Forbidden Lance, activate!"
"I target one face-up monster on the field. Until the end of the turn, it loses 800 ATK and is unaffected by the effects of other Spell and Trap Cards."
Destiny HERO - Dystopia Guy ATK: 2800→2000
"I activate the effect of Destiny HERO - Dystopia Guy! If this card's ATK is different from its original ATK, I can target one card on the field. That card is destroyed, and this card's ATK returns to its original value."
"I'll destroy your right-most set card! Sublime Justice!"
Dystopia Guy crossed its hands in front of its chest, firing a purple, cross-shaped bolt of electricity that struck Yūga Hōzumi's right-most set card, shattering it with a boom.
"A Counter Trap, Negate Attack, which can forcibly end the Battle Phase? You're quite persistent, just like the cockroaches of this dimension. Then again, as one of their leaders, you're nothing but a slightly larger cockroach," Aster Phoenix sneered.
Hearing Aster Phoenix's words, anger welled up in Yūga Hōzumi, who had assimilated the memories of the body's original owner. "We fight to the death without retreating because we have important people to protect! How could you damn invaders possibly understand that?!"
"Tch, how tedious." Aster Phoenix scoffed. "Your so-called beliefs are so boring. First, there was that lunatic who wanted to bring a Smile to everyone, and now there's you. How could beings like you ever comprehend the greatness of the Academy's plan?"
"This so-called great plan… is it to merge the four dimensions back into one?" Yūga Hōzumi said coldly.
"How do you know that?" Aster Phoenix frowned. The details of this plan were a top secret known only to a select few, even within the Academy. Could there be a mole in the Academy?
"And for this so-called plan, you have to wage war on us? You really have the disgusting face of an invader."
"It seems you have quite a few secrets. After I take you down, I'll have to pry that mouth of yours open and find out just who the Academy's mole is," Aster Phoenix said with a wave of his hand. "The battle continues!"
"Destiny HERO - Dystopia Guy, direct attack!"
