# Chapter 237: The Last Draw
Raging thunder mixed with an aura of darkness, converging on the field into a furious magnetic field.
The frenzied electric current coursed through Ryo Marufuji's body, twisting his face into a ferocious expression.
Within the magnetic field, three mechanical dragons were violently disintegrated and then re-condensed, as a colossal three-headed mechanical dragon soared into the air behind Ryo Marufuji.
Cyber End Dragon ATK: 4000
"Because of Power Bond's effect, Cyber End Dragon's attack points double!" Blood trickled from the corner of Ryo Marufuji's mouth; it was clear that summoning such a monster had not been easy.
Cyber End Dragon ATK: 4000 → 8000
"Trap Card, Cybernetic Overflow, activate! I banish 'Cyber Dragon' monsters with different Levels from my hand, Graveyard, and face-up on my field. Then, I destroy a number of cards on your field equal to the number of monsters I banished!"
"I activate the effect of ZW - Eagle Claw! Once per turn, I can negate the effect of a Trap Card activated on my opponent's field!"
Behind CNo.39 Utopia Ray V, a golden avian phantom let out a long cry before crashing into Ryo Marufuji's backrow, extinguishing the thunderstorm formed by that card.
"Now, battle! Cyber End Dragon, attack CNo.39 Utopia Ray V!"
"Continuous Trap, Emerging Hope, activate! I Special Summon one Number 39: Utopia from the Graveyard and equip it with this card! The 'Number 39: Utopia' Special Summoned by this effect can activate its effect once per turn without detaching an Xyz Material! (Manga Card)"
"Revive, Number 39: Utopia!"
Number 39: Utopia ATK: 2500
"Cyber End Dragon, continue your attack!" Ryo Marufuji roared.
"I activate the effect of Number 39: Utopia! When any player's monster declares an attack, I can detach one Xyz Material from this card to negate it! However, thanks to the effect of my Continuous Trap, Emerging Hope, I don't need to detach a material this time! Moon Barrier Shield!"
The revived Utopia raised its Moon Barrier Shield, standing before Utopia Ray V and absorbing all the laser beams spewed by Cyber End Dragon.
"Did you really think I wouldn't anticipate this level of defense?" Ryo Marufuji yelled furiously. "Activate Trap Card, Grave Robber!"
"I select one Spell Card from your Graveyard and add it to my hand until the End Phase. If I use that Spell Card, I take 2000 points of damage!"
"My Spell Card? You don't mean...?" Yūga Hōzumi was startled, looking at his Graveyard.
"That's right! The card you discarded as the cost for Onomatopaira—the Quick-Play Spell, Double or Nothing!"
The Set Card Ryo Marufuji flipped over flashed, becoming Double or Nothing!
"And now, I activate it!"
"When a monster's attack is negated, I can target that monster. It can attack one more time during this Battle Phase. During the Damage Step of that attack, its attack points are doubled."
Cyber End Dragon ATK: 8000 → 16000
"Go! Cyber End Dragon, attack CNo.39 Utopia Ray V!" Ryo Marufuji roared again, waving his hand, and Cyber End Dragon once more spewed furious laser beams from its mouths.
"Quick-Play Spell, Number Impact, activate! I target a 'Number' monster on my field that is battling an opponent's monster! If the opponent's monster has 1000 or more ATK than my monster, my monster's ATK increases by the ATK of that opponent's monster! (Anime Card)"
At this point, Yūga Hōzumi refused to back down, urging Utopia Ray V forward.
CNo.39 Utopia Ray V ATK: 4800 → 20800
"Quick-Play Spell, Duel Fusion, activate!" At this moment, Ryo Marufuji gritted his teeth and slammed the last card in his hand onto his Duel Disk.
"When a Fusion Monster on my field battles an opponent's monster, my monster's ATK increases by the ATK of the monster it's battling, until the end of the Damage Step."
Cyber End Dragon ATK: 16000 → 36800
The attack points of both monsters climbed successively. A furious energy field spread outward from the two of them, pushing back everyone nearby.
Everyone on the entire battlefield turned their gaze to this spot.
"Are we going to lose?" Looking at Cyber End Dragon with its 36,800 attack points, Serena's eyes were filled with rage. Gritting her teeth, she dispatched her current opponent and rushed toward the center of the battlefield.
Yuto, Shun, and Kaito did the same, sprinting towards the center of the battlefield, enduring the terrifying pressure and letting the flying debris cut across their bodies.
At this moment, everyone on the Resistance Army's side had only one belief: even if it cost them their lives, they had to save their hope.
At the center of the energy field, both Ryo Marufuji and Yūga Hōzumi were at the end of their ropes.
But Yūga Hōzumi roared, "Stay back! Leave this to me!"
Enduring the pain of the raging storm scraping against his body, Yūga Hōzumi gritted his teeth and flipped his last face-down card.
"Counter Trap, Hyper-Speed Activation, activate!"
"I draw one card. If it's a Normal Spell, I can immediately activate it as if it were a Quick-Play Spell! (Manga Card)"
The red half of Yūga Hōzumi's ZEXAL form armor began to crack under the furious energy storm. Trembling, Yūga Hōzumi stretched out his hand and placed it on the top card of his deck.
At this moment, he still had 27 cards in his deck, but only one could turn the tide!
A 1-in-27 chance?
Yūga Hōzumi smiled bitterly, abandoning his defense against the energy storm's impact and concentrating all the remaining energy of his Emperor's Key into his right hand.
Yūga Hōzumi looked up at Utopia Ray V and Cyber End Dragon, who were already locked in battle, then looked directly at Ryo Marufuji and spoke, word by word, "This draw will decide the match. And I believe I'm the one who will win."
Ryo Marufuji did not speak, but held his breath, gazing at Yūga Hōzumi's right hand.
"Shining Draw!"
As Yūga Hōzumi drew the card, the red half-armor on his body shattered in the rampant energy storm. Yūga Hōzumi's blond hair returned to black, and all the energy in his right hand flowed from the drawn card into the Extra Deck on his Duel Disk.
"The card I drew is... the Normal Spell, Rank-Up-Magic Zexal Force!"
"Thanks to my Counter Trap, Hyper-Speed Activation, this card is treated as a Quick-Play Spell, and I activate it now!"
"I target one Xyz Monster on my field! I use it to Xyz Summon a 'Utopia' or 'ZW' monster from my Extra Deck that is one Rank higher, treating this as an Xyz Summon! Then, I take one 'ZW' or 'ZS' monster from my deck and place it on top!"
"I overlay CNo.39 Utopia Ray V!"
Brilliant light bloomed from the card in Yūga Hōzumi's hand, enveloping Utopia Ray V as it struggled against Cyber End Dragon.
