Chapter 48 - THE MARCH OF JUSTICE

David stood behind the one-way glass, watching Grant sitting motionless in the interrogation room. His former mentor's face still radiated arrogance, even though his hands were now handcuffed.

"Everything is ready, Sir," Robert reported. "The evidence of corporate fund embezzlement, money laundering, and even the kidnapping plan has been handed over to the prosecutors."

David nodded slowly. "I want Grant to fully face the consequences of all his actions."

He entered the interrogation room with calm steps. Grant stared at him with a piercing gaze.

"Satisfied?" Grant sneered. "Destroying the person who once considered you like his own son?"

David sat across from him. "You chose this path, Grant. Not me."

Grant laughed bitterly. "You think with all your connections, you can make me rot in prison forever?"

"No," David answered coldly. "But I can ensure you spend the rest of your life in a first-class prison, where you'll meet the people you destroyed in the past."

Their conversation continued tensely. David produced documents that made Grant grow increasingly pale.

"How did you get all this?" Grant asked with a trembling voice.

"Clara testified for us," David stated. "She provided all the evidence you had stored."

Grant's eyes widened. "She... betrayed me?"

"Not betrayal. But finally choosing the right path," David said. "She didn't want Bimo to grow up watching his mother become your tool for crime."

David then revealed his trump card. "And do you remember the Northgate project that started our feud? I just found evidence that you bribed officials to win that tender."

Grant fell silent, all his arrogance crumbling in an instant.

"You think you won because you were smarter?" David stood up, looking down at Grant. "Wrong. You lost because you were too busy hating, while I focused on building a life."

Before leaving, David stopped at the door. "One last thing, Grant. The chocolate ice cream that Elara couldn't afford back then? We now own the entire factory. That's the difference between us - you were busy destroying, while I was building."

Grant bowed his head in defeat, realizing that all his efforts had completely failed. David walked out with mixed feelings - not happiness over victory, but satisfaction that justice had finally been served.

Outside, Elara waited with a tense expression. "How did it go?"

"Everything is settled," David answered while holding his wife's shoulder. "Now, let's go home."

They walked out of the courthouse, leaving the dark past behind and stepping toward a new chapter of their lives. The blue sky seemed to welcome the decision they had fought so hard to achieve.
