Tonia's POV
The monster had given me coordinates and made it crystal clear that silence was my only option. Not that I planned on involving anyone else. The absolute last thing I wanted was to pull Kermit away from tonight's crucial preparations.
I wiped away every trace of tears with concealer and powder, preparing to slip out unnoticed. That's when Kermit walked back into the room, this time fully dressed in his formal attire.
"Ready to go?" His voice carried none of its usual warmth.
The playful man I'd grown to love had vanished, replaced by the stone-cold Alpha who meant business.
"Actually..." My gaze fell to the carpet. "Could I meet you there instead?"
His eyebrows shot up. "What's wrong?"
"I'm dealing with some really bad cramps right now. I need to take something strong and lie down for a bit."
Displeasure carved harsh lines across his features.
"Can't you rest on the plane?"
