Tonia's POV
Deep down, I knew this moment would come.
That nagging voice in the back of my mind had been whispering warnings all day. Even though we'd managed to stop Bradley's previous schemes and he'd been unusually quiet recently, I couldn't shake the feeling he was planning something devastating for tonight.
Now I knew what it was.
My body went cold as ice while the nanny stood before me, tears streaming down her face. Her words hit me like physical blows. She'd been waiting at the school pickup as usual, but had to step away briefly for an emergency. When she returned, both the children and our driver had vanished without a trace. She'd hoped they might have somehow made it home, but they were nowhere to be found.
The betrayal cut deep. Our driver had sold us out, delivering the kids straight into Bradley's hands. But that pain paled compared to the terror of imagining what that monster might do to them.
