Chapter 91 - Chapter 91 A Savage Kind Of Trust

Faye's POV

I couldn't tell which decision was more reckless: trusting the beast who had almost killed me to protect me, or channeling my power into healing him while hoping he would rescue me from something far deadlier.

Time seemed suspended as I watched him. Then another bone-chilling scream tore across the forest. Hardy's massive head whipped toward the noise, and without hesitation, he launched himself forward.

The winged creature attempted to take flight, spreading its leathery wings wide, but this time Hardy moved with lethal precision. My healing energy still coursed through his veins, mending shredded tissue and sealing every wound that had weakened him moments before. His razor-sharp claws sank deep into the bat's flank, yanking it earthward. Snow erupted in violent clouds as his fangs found purchase in its throat.

The monster shrieked in fury, thrashing wildly, its wings hammering against him with enough power to bend nearby trees.
