Faye's POV
"How do you know this cave so well?" The question slipped out before I could stop myself.
He ignored me completely. Instead, his fingers wrapped around mine without warning, and he tugged me toward the back of the cavern. At first, everything looked normal, just more rock and shadow. Then he stopped in front of what seemed like a random pile of stones. When he shifted a large boulder to the side, I saw it – a thin crack in the wall, barely visible in the dim light.
He stepped into the opening, his hand still gripping mine.
The space was so narrow he had to turn his body sideways just to squeeze through. Stone walls pressed against my shoulders, catching on my torn cloak as we moved deeper into the passage. The path angled downward, and with each step, the air grew colder around us.
His hold on my hand never weakened. Every time the tunnel got tighter, he guided me forward with steady pressure.
