Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Troll Goes Mad

Noticing this, Gobulo was a bit taken aback. Wasn't Jerry only level one? How could he eat so much? After thinking for a moment, he tore off another large chunk of meat from the wild boar's carcass, nearly the size of a boar's leg. To Gobulo's amazement, Jerry devoured it all.

Gobulo watched in disbelief. Jerry's appetite was nearly as big as his own.

"Are you full?"

"I'm full, I'm full!" Jerry nodded swiftly. In truth, he wasn't entirely full, but he feared Gobulo might hit him again if he admitted it.

"Are you really full?"

"Rea..." Jerry glanced at the remaining wild boar meat in Gobulo's hand and gulped.

Seeing that, Gobulo understood. This guy wasn't full yet. He handed over the last leg. "Keep eating! Finish it if you can."

Hearing Gobulo's words, Jerry almost snatched it but then remembered the slap and slowly took the meat from Gobulo's hand, eating it in large bites.

Watching this, Gobulo was pleased. Jerry could be taught, after all.

Before long, Jerry had polished off the remaining meat, his belly noticeably rounder.

"Burp~"

"Are you full this time?"

"I'm full, truly full," Jerry replied quickly. This time he wasn't lying; he was genuinely full.

After confirming Jerry wasn't fibbing, Gobulo was secretly impressed. Despite being much smaller, Jerry's appetite was just slightly less than his own. Could Jerry have some special bloodline?

Even without any special lineage, Jerry's ability to eat more than an average Goblin made him exceptional. After all, with the Devour skill, the more monster meat he consumed, the faster his strength would grow.

"How does it feel to be full?" Gobulo asked.

"Very good, very comfortable. I've never felt this good before."

"It's good that you're comfortable. Stick with me, and don't tell anyone what we do. I'll make sure you eat your fill every day."

Hearing Gobulo's promise, Jerry eagerly nodded, acknowledging Gobulo as his leader. Though Gobulo might hit him, he also filled his belly, and Jerry loved that sensation. As long as he could stay full, he would do whatever Gobulo asked.

Even though he was full now, Gobulo had no intention of pausing his hunts. His current strength was too weak, and he needed to simulate as much as possible to grow stronger.

But before that, he needed to recruit some allies. Monster carcasses couldn't go to waste.

With this in mind, he said to Jerry, "Let's go, we're heading back."

"Okay."

Before long, they returned to the camp and to their original cave. Gobulo found that ninety percent of the Goblins were sleeping, and the remaining ten percent were in a daze, with none of them exercising. It was easy to understand; these Goblins had only recently been born. While they naturally understood the Monster Language, they had no one to teach them anything else and acted purely on instinct.

Seeing their lethargy, Gobulo felt grateful for being a modern person and understanding the principle of 'no pain, no gain.'

As they entered the cave, a few dazed Goblins glanced at them before looking away.

Gobulo, meanwhile, was carefully selecting his future subordinates. The cave was quite dark, but Gobulo's Goblin vision was unhindered, allowing him to see clearly.

His selection criteria were simple: anyone who looked foolish enough to be easily swayed. But at a glance, every face seemed equally foolish, making any choice seem about the same.

Just as he was about to randomly pick a couple, he heard a noise behind him. He turned to see movement coming from the direction of the Troll's cave. Realizing the Troll was getting up, he quickly led Jerry to hide.

Fortunately, the Troll rose slowly. By the time it was fully up, Gobulo and Jerry were well hidden. As expected, the Troll headed toward the Goblins' cave.

Curious about the Troll's intentions, Gobulo watched from the shadows. The Troll roared into the Goblin cave, startling all the Goblins awake. Several of the largest Goblins rushed out, followed by the rest.

The fear on the Goblins' faces brought a twisted smile to the Troll's lips. It seemed satisfied with their terror.

Then, it swung at the smallest and weakest Goblins, flattening them with a single punch. The gruesome sight of flying flesh terrified the remaining Goblins.

Hidden in the shadows, Gobulo was shocked by the Troll's strength. It could flatten a Goblin with one punch. Though he didn't know its exact power, it must be at least level ten.

Troll: "You useless creatures! How do you hunt? The food supply has been dwindling. If you bring back so little again, this will be your fate!" It warned, pointing at the crushed Goblins.

Fear filled the Goblins at the Troll's words. The pressure from the Troll was immense. Satisfied with its display, the Troll left, seeing the Goblins too scared to raise their heads.

Witnessing this, Gobulo's desire to kill the Troll and take its place intensified. He didn't want to live in constant danger.

However, he altered his plan. The meat could go to waste; he wouldn't recruit new Goblins for now. He would secretly build his strength first. As long as he was careful, he shouldn't be discovered.

"Jerry, let's go. We're going hunting again."

"Okay."

Though Jerry was full, he dared not disobey Gobulo.

They returned to their usual hunting ground. Gobulo, having been in the area for some time, understood why no humans had discovered this place in seven years of simulation.

The Goblin territory was nestled in a vast valley. The entrance was cleverly concealed by a thick patch of vines. These vines grew so naturally that anyone not looking closely would miss the valley entrance entirely.
