Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Magic Crystal

As soon as Jerry spoke, he stunned Gobulo, who almost couldn't hold back a laugh.

"I didn't eat anything gross to grow this big. Let's focus on the task. Are you full?"

"Not really," Jerry admitted, still curious about Gobulo's sudden growth spurt.

But Gobulo didn't give him a chance to ponder further.

"If you're not full, follow me and do exactly as I say."

"Alright," Jerry agreed, a bit intimidated by Gobulo's newfound strength and size.

"Don't talk, just follow me." With that, Gobulo turned and led the way.

Jerry followed quietly, suppressing his urge to ask questions. Now that Gobulo had grown so much, he knew it was wiser to listen and obey.

Not long after, Gobulo found a few sturdy branches along the path and handed one to Jerry. He planned to hunt alone but realized he couldn't finish an entire monster before it spoiled, so he decided to train Jerry. After all, Jerry had been considerate enough to call him for meals.

The two of them arrived at their usual hunting grounds.

"We're hunting together this time. Don't tell any other Goblins or Trolls about this, understand?"

"I understand," Jerry replied, not entirely sure why Gobulo was taking him hunting or why it had to be a secret, but he knew better than to defy him.

Soon, Gobulo spotted a wild boar in the distance. He instructed Jerry, "Stay here and wait. I'll drive the boar over. As soon as it's within reach, hit it hard with your stick, got it?"

"Okay, got it," Jerry nodded eagerly.

With that, Jerry obediently hid behind a large tree, just as Gobulo had instructed.

Meanwhile, Gobulo quietly circled behind the wild boar.

Sensing something amiss, the wild boar, which had been grazing, lifted its head and looked around. Despite not spotting anything unusual, it began to move cautiously.

Seeing the boar ready to flee, Gobulo suddenly burst from the bushes with a loud cry. His larger size and sudden appearance startled the young wild boar, prompting it to run in the opposite direction.

Gobulo chased after it. His speed was clearly greater than that of the small wild boar, and he was closing in fast.

"Bang!"

As the wild boar passed a large tree, a thick branch swung out from behind it. Although it didn't hit the boar's head, it struck its body hard.

The surprise attack caused the wild boar to cry out and slow down. The impact from Jerry's strike was enough to dislodge the stick from his hands, preventing a follow-up attack.

By the time the boar regained its speed, Gobulo was upon it. He picked up the stick and landed a powerful Lv.5 critical hit on the boar's body.

"Thwack!"

This time, the sound was different. While Jerry's attack merely pained the boar, Gobulo's strike caused flesh to splatter. The stick broke in two, and the wild boar let out a pained cry.

It only cried once. Gobulo drove the broken stick into its throat, silencing it immediately.

"Thud."

The wild boar collapsed, motionless.

Jerry stared at the boar's lifeless body, astonished by the ease of their success. Usually, hunting a wild boar required a long chase, yet the two of them managed it quickly. Jerry felt like he was in a dream.

Staring at the boar, Gobulo hesitated but decided against roasting it. The smell of cooked meat might attract the Trolls.

Jerry, mouth watering, instinctively moved to drag the boar back.

"What are you doing?" Gobulo asked.

"I'm going to drag the boar back."

"Drag it? Didn't I tell you not to let any Goblin or Troll know we hunted? This is ours; we'll eat it here!" Gobulo declared, tearing a leg off the boar and handing it to Jerry.

Hesitant for just a moment, Jerry snatched the leg from Gobulo and started eating ravenously.

'Well, Gobulo told me to eat it, so it should be fine,' Jerry thought.

Seeing Jerry's greedy grab, Gobulo frowned and took the leg back. Surprised, Jerry glared at him.

"Slap."

Gobulo's slap snapped Jerry back to reality.

Jerry looked at Gobulo in confusion, not understanding why he had taken back the food he had offered.

"Take it from my hand slowly; no grabbing," Gobulo instructed. Since he decided to mentor Jerry, he needed to teach him properly to avoid trouble. Although he disliked using such a harsh method, it was all he could do for now.

Jerry hesitated, then slowly took the leg from Gobulo's hand, glancing at him nervously.

"Eat," Gobulo said.

Jerry resumed his feast. Gobulo ignored Jerry's eating habits; they were irrelevant at the moment.

Gobulo then searched through the boar's remains and found a black crystal— a magic crystal.

**Item Name: First-Order Magic Crystal**

**Effect: Usable for equipping weapons, formations... Consuming ten first-order magic crystals allows for the next simulation.**

'Only ten magic crystals for one simulation? That's manageable. At this rate, I can gather ten first-order magic crystals soon enough.'

Satisfied with his find, Gobulo began devouring the boar. Due to his larger size, his appetite was much greater than a typical Goblin's, yet he couldn't finish the entire boar in one sitting. Once full, he noticed Jerry still eyeing the remaining meat hungrily.
