Chapter 1 - Unnamed

Chapter 1 – A New Beginning

I had just quit my job and was heading home to lie down when suddenly someone bumped into me. I stumbled, and before I could react, a sharp pain tore through my stomach. I looked down in horror. A knife. He had stabbed me.

Everything flashed before my eyes—my lonely life, my failures, all the chances I never had. I wasn't married. I had no girlfriend. Even back in school, luck had never been on my side. People always rejected me.

I had worked tirelessly after finishing school, reaching thirty without ever finding a girl I truly loved. My family had passed away when I was young. I had lived with my grandfather and grandmother, but they too had died. I was completely alone.

I didn't want to die.

Where am I? What is this place?

A voice echoed in my head, calm yet commanding:

"You are in the space between worlds. I am the deity of this realm. I have heard you, and I am giving you another chance. You can live a good life."

"Do you accept it?" the voice asked. "Can you accept this opportunity?"

I hesitated, my heart pounding. What should I say…? "Ehh… fine. I accept."

"Very well. I hope you will live a good life. Farewell."

And then… silence.

When I opened my eyes, I realized something shocking: I had become the father of four children. But these weren't ordinary children—they were half-vampires.

Two boys, two girls. Sleeping under a tree, waiting for me. My heart sank.

Whose children are these? Why are they here?

A sudden headache struck me. Memories that weren't mine surged through my mind. Battles, pain, love… and a vampire woman.

The body I now inhabited had loved her. Their children were half-human, half-vampire. Five years ago, humans and demons had clashed, and they had been enemies. They had fallen off a mountain, but he had healed her. They fought again and again, and somewhere along the way, they had fallen in love.

Now, she was gone. The man had drowned himself in alcohol, neglecting even the children, and now… I was here.

I stared at them, heart hammering. Could I do this? Could I raise them?

And at that moment, I realized: my life had just begun…
