I stood in a peerless white void. At first I couldn't see anything. But as I focused on the void I was standing on, I was finally met with the image of how I looked that day.
"Is this the afterlife?" I blurted out, as I watched a constant playback of me getting ready to go visit my little brother. Everything in my room was in order, for the first time in years I had managed to leave my room spotless before I left. I was never a messy person but I always managed to have a clean shirt or hoodie left on the ground whenever I headed out somewhere. It was my weird luck, I guess I should've known today would've been the day I died. Since it was the first time I had my room looking the way I wanted too.
[Technically you died yesterday viewer.]
A voice called out, it didn't seem like it came from a person though. If anything it felt like it was the room. This peerless white void was talking to me, in the voice of a cute girl, with a tone of … Divinity?

"Void Chan? Are you Japanese or a Weeb?"
Even though it didn't have a body and wasn't a person, I felt like the void was annoyed by my question about its cultural appropriation.

[A girl can't have jokes anymore] The void let out a giggle then sighed. [Well, I shouldn't waste any more of your time, even if my job is boring and this is the first time in 1000 years that I got the chance to interact with a viewer] It responded in a sad tone.
"What exactly is your job?"
[Well I'm glad you asked. Void Chan's job is to ferry off humans like you into another world!]
"You haven't done it in 1000 years?"
[Technically I oversee reincarnation as a whole so the spirits of anyone that dies in this world or the next interacts with my domain.]

[But also you are the first spirit I've ever had in the past 1000 years that is conscious]
I looked at my reflection in the void. "So this isn't a normal thing? Me being able to watch myself in my room in a loop like this"
[No it's not, you are special, matter of fact, only one other soul has ever had the ability to even communicate with Void Chan. Usually souls aren't conscious in this room. ]

[How can Void Chan explain this? A Viewer is someone who can see inside and interact with the Void.]

[But I can say that they get gifts moments before they go to the other world. With her gift, the last Viewer went on to become the demon king and ended up having to be slain by some instant death ability by the other world's god. Whose still serving time in Limbo because of him breaking the Divine Covenant to do so.]
So Viewers get gifts once they go into another world, and the last viewer apparently had to be killed by a god, whose in god prison now?

I guess that me wanting the void to not read my thoughts is because it feels like a lack of control.

I immediately thought of something grotesque.

We sat in silence for a bit, before I asked the next question.
"So… how are the gifts decided, and what was the Demon Lord's gift?" I had to admit, even though I didn't really believe the void. I was curious
[The Last Viewer's Gift was an I win button. No matter who she challenged to anything, no matter what conversation she had, or what interaction she had. She was immediately given the ability to mentally press the button, and she just would win]
"That's insane."
[Yeah the god thought so too. He was afraid that if she realized he existed. She would use the button against him and claim his rights over the world. So he blessed a hero with the ability to kill her and erase her from existence to the point that even if her soul regenerated, she would lose her status as Viewer and would have no past memories, and just reincarnate like a regular soul. It was sad for Void Chan to see her like that]
"Wow, I guess I understand why he would kill her though. What an insane power"
[Is it really that strong? Void Chan can think of about a million ways to defeat her]

[If you could mind control her, she wouldn't be able to think to use the button against you]
"Oh right, I guess so, it wasn't automatic"
[Exactly. Besides for her to even use the power she had to be interacted with. If you choose to ignore her, she can't use it against you, nor could she use it against anyone in a way that wasn't possible. She could only materialize a future where she won, if it was possible for her. All the god had to do was just ignore her really]
"Guess he wasn't so imaginative"
[Guess not, but to answer your other question. Void Chan decides the ability the viewer gets]
"You decided to give her that power??"
[She was Void Chan's first viewer! Void Chan couldn't think of anything else, and didn't realize she would use the gift. She was a loser in her past life, but I guess she learned how to debate, and was physically strong in this other world. So manifesting the future where she won an argument or fight wasn't hard for her.]
"Physically strong enough to beat a god?"
[I guess so]
"That's wow."
[Yeah it was something. Void Chan felt a bit bad though, so it's decided to never give another Hax Ability like that again]
"I see… so, what will my gift be"
I didn't really care. But I did want to know.
[If Void Chan tells you then your soul will head over to the other world. Void Chan is enjoying this convo, and once you leave, Void Chan will probably have to wait a million years to have another one with a Viewer, a thousand at least, and you won't remember what we talked about. You'll just know you are in another world]
"But uhm Void Chan is it? I'll have to head out eventually."
The Void sighed, and begrudgingly answered.

"It means that you have the ability of Ultimate Control Order. How your human self would've interpreted that gift is how the gift will turn out, and once you end up in another world. You will know how your ]
I see. So the void probably didn't give the demon lord the ability to instantly win, but a gift that the demon lord's past self interpreted that way.
"Why did you give me this gift? I can't imagine how you would come up with that.
[If Void Chan had to explain. It's because… you seem like someone who values the order of things immensely. Like a control freak]
"A Control Frea-" Before I could finish my sentence, I blinked and opened my eyes to see nothing but lush greenery before me.
What just happened? One moment I was on my way to visit my younger siblings, the next, I'm, in a fantasy world?
Even though I couldn't hear anything. A part of me felt like a teenage girl far away from me was saying something.

My words were interrupted by the sound of a monotone voice.
