Chapter 47 - 47

Hee hee hee hee hee ~!" A strange laugh came from inside the glass cover, and the researchers who had just breathed a sigh of relief immediately got goosebumps.

The laughter was so eerie and terrifying that it sent shivers down their spines. The surrounding researchers instantly tensed up again, their hearts, which had just relaxed, now pounding. They stared intently at the glass cover, waiting for the green smoke inside to dissipate.

The eerie laughter only lasted for a moment before disappearing again, after which the entire laboratory fell silent, with only the sound of instruments working.

The green smoke inside the glass cover grew thinner and thinner, and Norman's figure gradually reappeared. He was completely different from when he had entered.

When he went in, he was gaunt and on the verge of death. Now, as he emerged from the green mist, he looked as robust as he had been before his illness. This change astonished the researchers outside.

Norman inside the glass cover opened his eyes. They were no longer filled with fatigue and despair, but had regained their vigor, with a deep green hue hidden in their depths.

Seeing Norman awake and seemingly normal, the researchers outside operated the device and opened the glass cover.

This time, Norman jumped off the experimental table without anyone's help, looking incredibly healthy.

After standing on the ground, Norman took a deep breath, then smiled and said, "I think we succeeded. I feel incredibly healthy now, even stronger than before."

"Of course, all of this is also thanks to everyone's strong support."

The researchers were also very excited to hear Norman's words; the experiment had actually succeeded. They all sent their blessings to Norman, and Norman warmly replied to them.

While everyone was congratulating Norman, a bespectacled researcher in his forties, named Ibe, subtly frowned. He was the head of this laboratory and a good friend of Norman Osborn. He had also been the leader earlier.

Ibe looked at Norman's healthy appearance, feeling a faint sense of worry. He always had a bad premonition, from the strange laughter to the now healthy Norman; he felt that everything hinted at unease.

Looking at Norman in front of him, Ibe couldn't feel happy. Although this Norman's robustness far exceeded his past, and he was incredibly healthy, Ibe always felt that Norman had changed.

Ibe couldn't pinpoint what the change was, but he could feel that Norman had become completely different before and after the experiment.

Norman also saw the frowning Ibe. He smiled and walked towards Ibe, saying, "Ibe, my good brother, why aren't you happy? Look, my illness is cured."

Ibe hesitated for a while, but seeing Norman, he still softly said, "I think this experiment needs to continue."

Norman frowned and asked, "Why? Can't my body prove anything?"

Ibe shook his head: "I know your body is well, but that doesn't mean this reagent has no problems. I think we still need to perfect it, after all, Harry..."

"Enough!" Norman suddenly said sharply, "I've already said, this matter doesn't need to be discussed anymore!"

Then Norman turned and commanded, "Seal this laboratory. Everyone, move to another location. This experiment is over."

Ibe wanted to speak but hesitated, but looking at Norman's somewhat unfamiliar back, he swallowed his words, sighed, and shook his head.

Subsequently, all the researchers moved out in an orderly fashion. This laboratory was now sealed, becoming a thing of the past.

Ibe carried his belongings, looked back at the laboratory door, shook his head, and left.

Norman returned to his top-floor office. He comfortably leaned back in his chair, looking at the view outside the floor-to-ceiling window.

Ever since Norman's condition began to worsen, he hadn't been back here for a long time. He could only live in a specially designed medical room, remotely controlling Osborn Corporation.

Just then, the office door was pushed open. Norman's secretary, clicking her high heels, walked gracefully to Norman's desk and softly said to him, "Mr. Osborn, the meeting starts in fifteen minutes. You can leave now."

Norman heard this, turned his chair around, and looked at the secretary's alluring figure, wrapped in a business suit. He smiled and said, "I know, but I think I might be a little late. What do you think?"

The secretary also showed a charming smile, her beautiful big eyes radiating infinite allure. Then she twisted her soft waist, leaned onto Norman, and slowly rubbed her body against his robust physique.

Night fell, and Osborn Group was already empty.

In front of the sealed laboratory, Ibe quietly approached the laboratory door, carefully peeled off the seal, then entered the password, opened the door, and slipped inside.

After entering the laboratory, Ibe breathed a sigh of relief. He turned on the lights of the laboratory and began to arrange the instruments. He decided to secretly continue researching the reagent himself.

This was not just for Norman, but also for Harry. Harry was still young, and he couldn't risk him with this half-baked reagent. Moreover, he still hadn't figured out what was going on with Norman's current abnormality.

Ibe fiddled with test tubes while pondering. Suddenly, a voice sounded from behind him.

"Ibe, Ibe, you really are as disobedient as I thought."

Ibe was startled by the sudden voice and quickly turned to look.

Not far away, in the dim light, Norman Osborn was staring intently at him.

When Ibe saw Norman appear there, he steeled himself and spoke directly, "Norman, why don't you trust me? We are good friends, and I watched Harry grow up. How could I harm you both?"

"This reagent really needs to be perfected. Just give me some more time, okay?"

Ibe's voice became a helpless plea by the end.

Norman still looked at Ibe expressionlessly, slowly approaching him.

Ibe watched the terrifyingly unfamiliar Norman gradually close in and suddenly panicked a little, unconsciously backing away until he was stopped by a table.

Norman closed in on Ibe, his tone icy as he said, "I've already said, this reagent is perfect. No more experiments are needed."

"But..." Ibe tried to say something else, but Norman suddenly extended his large hand and gripped his neck.

Ibe's neck was constricted, making it difficult to breathe, but he still managed to stammer, "Nor-Norman, we're brothers... Harry..."

Hearing Ibe's fragmented words, Norman's icy expression suddenly softened slightly. A hint of struggle appeared in his eyes, his face became somewhat distorted, and the strength in his hand loosened a little.

But very quickly, a green glow reappeared in his eyes, solidifying his recently softened expression back into an icy one.

As Norman's expression reverted to coldness, his large hand tightened its grip. Ibe struggled weakly, but it was futile in Norman's hand.

"Crack!" With a crisp sound, as Norman's hand continued to exert force, Ibe's neck finally gave way and was snapped. His head slumped limply.

Norman saw Ibe with his neck broken, and his expression softened again. He suddenly recoiled his hand as if electrocuted, stepping back a few paces.

Looking at Ibe, whose neck was twisted and who lay limply on the ground, Norman seemed to remember something. His expression was no longer cold; instead, it became one of fear and unease.

"What have I done? What have I done? I... I killed Ibe?" Norman clutched his head in horror, muttering to himself.

Suddenly, another cold, eerie voice spoke: "Hee hee hee hee hee, just getting rid of an annoying fellow makes you like this. You truly are incompetent."

"We have gained new life, new life!"

Norman listened to the eerie voice, looking around in terror and shouting, "Who? Who's speaking? Who are you?"

The eerie voice continued: "I am you, and you are me. We are one."

"Walk forward, yes, keep walking, and look at me. We have been reborn."

Norman muttered to himself, following the guidance of the strange voice, and walked forward.

Suddenly, Norman stopped. A large pane of glass appeared before him, reflecting his own face.

"Hee hee hee hee hee, that's right, do you see? New life! New life!!!! Hahahahaha!"

The face of Norman reflected in the glass twisted and laughed loudly. Norman, looking at the glass, slowly curled his lips, joining the loud, eerie laughter of his reflection. The green light in his eyes grew even brighter.
