The building was about 15 meters tall - my father told me that the factory had been abandoned about 10 years ago and that no one has ever set foot on the land since.
As a child, I had always dreamed of becoming a base for a Sentai series, so I often played house with Shiori. There was no water or electricity, so it was pitch black even during the day, but I loved the historical atmosphere, like the remains of soldiers' dreams, and I would go there again and again.
Today, I wasn't just visiting this building full of memories. I was told to meet up with Shiori at this location, so I replied by email that I would be there right away, and then I came all the way here, relying on my memories of the past.
The time was past eleven o'clock.
The abandoned factory was imposing in size compared to the surrounding buildings. Depending on how you look at it, it could almost look like the base of an evil secret society.
When I went inside, it was surprisingly well organized.
There's no light though.
"Shiori! Are you there!?"
I shouted loudly.
It echoed hollowly off the drab walls around them.
I heard the sound of loafers. Feeling nervous, I turned towards the sound.
I found the person I was waiting for.
"We finally meet, Shiori."
"Brother"
Shiori happily opened his mouth.
"So you came after all."
"Yeah, that's true."
"We are destined to be together after all."
"...it is"
"Why are you hesitating?"
"I... I've tried to think about it with my limited brainpower, but in the end it always ends up going around in circles. That's only natural. Wanting to be happy so that no one gets hurt is pretty much wishful thinking."
"That's not true."
Shiori smiled sweetly, almost seductively.
I slowly back away. There were no houses nearby. No one around. No one around. No matter what they did, it wouldn't be a problem as long as they weren't found.
"What's wrong, brother...?"
I have a bad feeling. Whenever Shiori makes this expression, something bad is bound to happen. Should I call Lighting on my cell phone and ask for reinforcements?
"!?"
At that moment, a cell phone ringtone rang throughout the factory.
I quickly took it out and tried to press the answer button.
"I won't let you do that♪"
It all happened in the blink of an eye.
Shiori's chop hit me in the neck.
There is no consciousness whatsoever after that.
But as I fell, I thought I heard these words:
"Brother, I won't let you go again... now it's just the two of us."
