Chapter 2: A Strange Taste
Then she became the horrible look she had now, looking like all her energy had been sucked away by ghosts. Fortunately, she had raised her physical fitness level; otherwise, she would have died suddenly from playing games again.
She felt her eyelids starting to twitch again.
I'm so sleepy. Really so sleepy.
She might as well go back to the classroom and take a nap. This class was physical training anyway, and the teacher only cared about the alpha students and didn't pay much attention to the beta students.
She stood up from the bench, turned, and left the training room, walking towards the teaching building.
It was class time, and there was no one in the corridor. She staggered to the classroom door, grabbed the door handle, and pulled it open.
With a creaky sound, the door slowly opened.
Shi Chu raised her foot and walked inside.
"Bang!"
She suddenly bumped into a hard, solid object and was snapped awake by the pain.
Hiss, it hurts, what is that?
Shi Chu took two steps back and looked up with some annoyance.
She saw a boy with short blond hair staring at her coldly, with warm sunlight shining on him through the window. The short golden hair sparkled in the sunlight, as if coated with a layer of dreamy color, and a pair of blue eyes as clear as lake water were looking at her.
No, who is the guy standing behind the door? Who does he want to assassinate?
Also, shouldn't everyone be in the training room right now? Why was there someone still in the classroom?
The young man stood there, scratching his hair with his hands in annoyance, making his already messy blond hair look even more unruly. His face seemed to have a hint of sleepiness, as if he had just woken up.
Shi Chu looked at the person in front of her and couldn't help but feel a little confused. Was this a student from their class?
She had been studying in this class for two years and had never seen this person. Could it be that he had transferred here today?
The blond boy stood there quietly, his expression indifferent, the corners of his mouth slightly turned down into a straight line. His cold gaze was directed directly at the culprit who had bumped into him.
He exuded an aura that kept people at a distance, and the air around him seemed to be frozen.
Shichu felt a little uncomfortable under his aggressive gaze. She frowned slightly, suppressed the discomfort in her heart, and apologized sincerely, "Sorry, I'm sorry for bumping into you."
What was he looking at? Even though she had accidentally bumped into someone, did that mean he was standing behind the door and it didn't matter at all? Sometimes you should reflect on yourself. She was just a good-tempered person who didn't argue with others.
The boy neither answered nor looked away. He just stared at her silently, his expression unclear.
He crossed his arms over his chest, leaned back slightly, and just stared at her straight. It took a long time before he spoke.
"What perfume are you wearing?"
Shi Chu was stunned. What was he talking about?
He seemed to sense her confusion and continued, "You smell very strange."
Shi Chu's body stiffened slightly for a moment.
She was lazy and hadn't washed her hair the night before after working on a mission. Was he talking about that?
No, she hadn't washed her hair for three days before, and there was no smell. What's more, she was playing games at home for those two days and didn't sweat, so there was no way there would be any odor.
So what this guy was talking about was other smells. This was the ABO world. Was he talking about pheromones or something?
Shi Chu calmly asked, "What's that smell?"
Luo Yanchuan looked at the beta girl in front of him, a hint of impatience flashing in his eyes.
She actually asked him what it was. Didn't she know it herself?
He slowly walked up to Shi Chu, with an innate arrogance on his body, his hands on his hips, looking down at her condescendingly.
With a mocking smile on his lips, he said in a tone full of sarcasm, "Why, don't you know what the perfume you put on smells like?"
Unlike the cloyingly sweet smell of the omega pheromone simulant, the scent on her body was lighter, probably perfume.
But did she think she could seduce him by using some perfume that smelled like omega pheromones? Just like those people who used to try to use him to get close to the Luo family, what a cheap trick.
But he had to admit that the smell did attract him.
As he walked in that morning, he noticed a strange smell in the classroom.
It was just too faint. Even a top alpha like him with an extremely sensitive sense of smell wouldn't be able to detect it unless he smelled carefully.
It was a fresh, elegant smell with a hint of coolness, like the smell of bamboo.
The scent was pure and simple, without the slightest hint of foreign flavors, as clear and sweet as a mountain spring. It smelled peaceful and tranquil, as if it could instantly calm one's mind.
He glanced around and found that the smell came from a girl who was sleeping on the table.
These days, he was about to enter his susceptible period. He had been in a very irritable mood, his destructive desire had increased, and he had difficulty controlling his emotions.
But this smell made him feel as if his body and mind were purified, and he calmed down instantly. Later, he felt so comfortable that he lay down on the table and fell asleep without realizing it.
When he woke up, there was no one in the classroom. He suddenly smelled a familiar scent behind the door. He just stood behind the door, but unexpectedly, he was bumped into by her.
Luo Yanchuan lowered his eyes. Since this smell could relieve his boredom and anxiety for many days, he didn't care about this ignorant beta trying to seduce and offend him.
Shi Chu couldn't help but frown. What a rude guy.
Icles College was a co-ed school of alphas and betas. This guy looked so ordinary, no, not ordinary either. She glanced at the boy standing not far away. His delicate and superior facial features and slender figure were the appearance that most people would like.
But seeing how bad his attitude was and how condescending he looked, he was most likely an alpha, and he seemed to be either rich or noble.
Graduation was about a month away, and it wouldn't be a good idea to cause trouble at this time.
Shi Chu retracted her gaze and replied indifferently, "I'm sorry, I never use perfume. I don't know what you're talking about."
It was a shame that she had just felt sorry for such a person.
Luo Yanchuan had never been treated with such an attitude before. All those betas were servile and fawning in front of him, but someone actually dared to give him the cold shoulder.
He spoke with a tone full of sarcasm, "You dare not take responsibility for what you did? I'm warning you, a beta, just read your books and don't even think about seducing an alpha."
When Shi Chu heard this, she couldn't help but clench her right hand tightly, and the joints of her fingers turned white from exerting too much force.
It's hard, my fist is hard. I was so busy playing games that I forgot to hit you, right?
No, she had to hold it in. She needed this to get her diploma, which she would need to register for the federal military academy entrance exam in two months.
She took a deep breath and forced a cold smile. "So, those noble alphas you're talking about are just like you? Speculating on others at will, like an ignorant and arrogant fool."
She gave up. Breathing the same air with such a person made her feel like she was suffocating.
No, she wanted to open a window to get some fresh air.
Shi Chu walked around the unreasonable alpha and went straight to the window.
With a muffled "bang", the window was opened by her.
The wind from outside the window blew in suddenly, lifting her long black hair and making it dance wildly in the wind. A few strands of hair were blown in front of her forehead, messy but beautiful.
Her face was faintly visible behind her hair, giving her a hazy beauty.
Shi Chu narrowed her eyes slightly, turned around, and prepared to return to her seat to sleep.
Playing games over the past two days had really tortured her, and now she needed enough sleep to relieve her fatigue.
