She blocked Quinn's fist but she didn't feel he used full strength. Another fist came and this one caused a shock. "My system says you did 5 points of damage. Which is really good actually against me for something like a simple spark like the description says. Did I hurt you in any way?"
She nodded at the comments on the spark then shook her head when he asked about pain. "Nothing different than regular sparring. Can I show you my other boots and see if you can tell me how much those could hurt?"
"Of course."
As she was pulling out her boots, Logan had gotten the compartment open that provides rewards. There were more pills and a syringe with the green liquid inside but no key. There were five compartments. One was empty, Quinn having used the syringe and taken the pills. There were 13 red pills in total and four syringes. The pills were a mixture of strength, agility and stamina. The syringes gave 10% boost to stats for one hour. Logan took everything and placed them in sample boxes he had brought with him. Quinn cautioned that the information the system gave him revolved around what it would do to him, not the others.
Quinn then was presented with a nice-looking pair of blue sparkling boots. He looked at them for a moment. "They don't do as much damage as my gauntlets which are advanced tier but those would take one of those down and allow you to chop off its head. That's how you kill those."
Lana nodded and put them in the top of her bag and closed it quickly. Caser was hearing something. She wanted to be ready to move.
Vorden started banging on the door with his sword. "Just." "Open." "This." "Door."
Then everyone heard the sounds Caser was hearing. Screams from above that sounded like creatures. Dirt also fell from a few spots of the ceiling. Caser crept closer to Lana's neck and held on tighter.
With that, Quinn decided to go in the next room and look around in there. He and Vorden went back and forth a bit as they discussed the merits of such an action but Quinn's logic won in the end. There really were no other options.
As Logan grazed the button for room number two, he could tell the room would not treat him nicely. The system chose to communicate its anger to him through his ability. Logan informed the group what his ability was relaying to him. It didn't seem wise to enter the room.
Quinn went back to the first door and thought. He shared that the wendigos were up there so they were coming from somewhere.
Layla told him going up there to them was death.
Quinn shook his head. He told them not where the wendigos were but the severed arms were. Food had to be stored separately, right?
Quinn went to the first door. Vorden stood by the robot. Logan hovered his finger over the button. Quinn and Logan both nodded and Logan hit the button. Quinn then held the door open. He said it was easier than he thought. He'd be good for a bit. Vorden and the girls then entered the room. Vorden then cut the ceiling where the panel was to drop the arm. Blood dripped down on his cheek. They waited for the blood to finish dripping.
While Layla and Quinn were discussing the merits of how he knew the ceiling wasn't made of glathrium, Lana activated her light crystal, jumped up, grabbed on and pulled herself half up when she heard "just what do you think you're doing?" then she climbed the rest of the way up. She looked around then called down. "If you don't like it, come up." She lowered a vine and the girls helped him come up.
He didn't sound happy about it. She heard a "fine" and a "here we go." The girls complained about his weight as they pushed. Vorden didn't grab the vine. She could imagine what Sil was saying inside his head right now. She looked away and smirked until she got her composure back. She had one thought, It's gross and I now need a bath from all this blood.
She looked down and Vorden was testing the strength of the panel area. She was looking all around to see if there was anything moving before taking in the rotting sights.
He finally pulled himself up. "Hey, there are small lights up here!"
Lana chuckled. "so, there is a conveyor belt running the length with a robot pushing off the arms at the designated times." She looked around, "the place could use a cleaning…"
Vorden looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Are we underground?" He was remembering the last time they were underground. Lana wasn't with them and there were no plants so she could just get the small tidbits Sil cared to pay attention to. Vorden pulled his swords back out.
Layla called up asking what they could see. He told her it was a cave of some sort and there was a path. He told her they would follow it and see where it went. Near the conveyor belt was an exit of some sort. It led into a warehouse factory type of setting. The option was to turn and maybe go around the warehouse or go through it. It looked like they went to the same place.
Raten told Vorden to stop being a wimp. There may be something useful in the warehouse. Outside the doors to the warehouse, they both smelled the stench. Vorden said it was the same as what he fought. Counting down on her fingers, they went in together.
There were terminals, glass containers and around 100 bodies piled up. They heard a mechanical sound as they stared at the bodies. A mechanical claw picked up a body and dropped it somewhere they couldn't see.
In the room, an arm dropped followed by three wendigos from the other side of the room.
