Live performances are built on songs and dances.
And since they're done in front of everyone, practice is non-negotiable.
Special training was arranged for those who struggled the most.
"But I don't think I need to practice!!!"
Naturally, I was the only one targeted.
This was the first Grand Live, and participation was open to anyone who wanted to join. No auditions, no selection process—just pure enthusiasm.
But let's be honest: horse girls who voluntarily sign up for live performances tend to be good at singing and dancing. Most just needed to learn the choreography and rehearse. Some even brought their own original songs.
Apparently, it's not unusual in the horse girl world to have songs custom-written and composed. It's a hobby for the wealthy, but surprisingly affordable—at least by "young lady" standards.
And then there was me.
The only one who couldn't sing nor dance.
I didn't even remember signing up! I'm a student, yes—but I'm a trainer, not a performer!
Rice-chan's response to my protest?
"Okay, now start practicing to sing and dance!!"
No persuasion. No sympathy. Just a command.
So I practiced. Reluctantly. And poorly.
Everyone else had been performing since they were little. I was a latecomer, fumbling through choreography like an amateur thrown into the spotlight.
"Hah this is impossible~" I whined.
"'Impossible' is a liar's word," Rice-chan snapped.
"Woah!!"
She pushed me to my limits. Too strict. Too merciless.
Eventually, work obligations kept me from attending all rehearsals. I memorized the center choreography and appeared just once. But everyone forgave me... their kindness was really overwhelming.
Rice-chan and Nishino-san had their own songs and danced flawlessly. Mihono-san was precise and expressive, her face part of the choreography. Lovely-san was naturally gifted, and Thank You-san excelled at everything.
Everyone I knew was good.
I wasn't terrible anymore—but going from a 10 to an 80 will take time.
So while they drilled lyrics and dance steps into their heads, I had to practice slowly, steadily, preparing for the Grand Live.
