"Koby, who is the most handsome man on this sea?"
Sandy walked into the room, saw Koby, and immediately imitated Alvida's tone.
"Haha…" Koby scratched his head shyly. "Mr. Sandy, please don't tease me like that…"
"Tease you?" Sandy picked his nose and turned to stare at Garp.
"Hey, old fossil, tearing down the house is fine, but making me fix it? Get lost already. Who uses people for free like this?"
Garp slowly turned his head. "You got a problem with that?"
Seeing Sandy ignore him and walk away whistling, Garp simply continued hammering the wall he himself had just destroyed, together with the Marines.
Sanji watched the scene speechlessly. "Luffy, isn't your Grandpa supposed to be a great man?"
Luffy shrugged. "How do I put it… I'm not really sure what exactly he does."
Sandy scoffed. "Which one of your eyes sees that he's great?"
Garp glanced over, and Sandy immediately looked up at the ceiling and whistled innocently.
"Oh right, Luffy," Garp continued, ignoring him. "Didn't you meet your old man?"
"My… old man?" Luffy blinked. "What old man? I have an father?"
"Deleng…"
A guitar chord rang out. Sandy sat in a corner strumming dramatically.
"What a pitiful child… growing up this big without even knowing his dad—deleng—just like a certain irresponsible old fart who tossed me into a mountain ravine and never looked back—deleng—"
Everyone twitched uncontrollably.
Garp picked his nose, completely pretending Sandy didn't exist. "What's with that reaction? Didn't that guy recognize you? He said he saw you off in Loguetown."
"Loguetown?" Zoro asked, confused.
"That non-mainstream charming guy," Sandy added.
"Non-mainstream? What's that?" Chopper tilted his head.
"You met him?" Sanji asked. "How come I don't remember anything?"
Sandy snapped his fingers. "Oh, right, I met him alone halfway. You guys weren't there. Hey, old man—"
He stepped closer curiously. "That tattoo on his face—did you smack him with a slipper?"
DUANG!!
Sandy was instantly punched straight out the door. Okay, maybe that joke went too far.
Back inside, Luffy asked, "So who's my father?"
"I'm curious too," Nami admitted.
Garp nonchalantly responded, "Your father's name is Monkey D. Dragon—the Revolutionary."
Luffy blinked. "Dragon?"
"EHH!?"
The Marines outside exploded in panic.
"Th-the Revolutionary Dragon has a son!?"
"Mr. Luffy is Dragon's son!?"
"So Dragon is Vice Admiral Garp's son!? What kind of family is this!?"
"This is the first time Dragon's full name has ever been revealed!"
Luffy stared at everyone blankly. "Why is everyone so shocked?"
Sanji grabbed his head in pain. "Idiot, you really don't know who Dragon is!?"
Nami explained, voice trembling, "Your dad is an insane big-shot!"
"Huh?" Luffy turned to Robin.
Robin sighed, organizing her thoughts. "Pirates themselves do not attack the Government or the Navy. Currently, the only force capable of overthrowing the World Government is the Revolutionary Army. The one leading them is Dragon.
His ideology has spread everywhere, causing rebellions in many nations. Several kingdoms have already fallen, and the World Government considers Dragon the world's greatest criminal. Nobody knows anything about his origins, and to think…"
Everyone stared at Garp in shock, wondering why he'd reveal something so critical.
Realizing what he had done, Garp flailed. "Ah—forget what I said! Hahaha! Just pretend I didn't say anything!"
"EHH!?"
Everyone turned to stone.
After the repairs were finished, Garp told Luffy, "You're my grandson, so I don't plan to arrest you on this island. I'll handle the explanation to the Navy. So just relax and stay put."
Sanji sighed. "That's blatant favoritism."
Sandy nodded seriously. "The old man's brain is actually useful for once. Perfect excuse. And if they complain? Just let them compare fists—crack some skulls! Works every time."
The Vice Admiral beside Garp stared at him. "That's not a reason at all… It's better to just say you let them escape."
Garp brushed him off. "This time I only brought two people to visit and have a nice chat. I'm leaving now."
A huge cartoon lightbulb popped above Sandy's head. "Really!?"
"Okay, bye," Luffy said casually.
DUANG!! DUANG!!
Garp punched both of them into the floor. "Is that how you say goodbye!? And you—Sandy—are you that happy I'm leaving!?"
Sandy rubbed his head, staying silent. If the old man wants emotional drama, let him have it. Arguing won't work.
Luffy sat up groaning. "What do you want me to do? You're just beating me!"
Garp roared, "Even so, I want my grandson to love me, you idiot!!"
The Straw Hat crew watched the scene nervously. No wonder the first reaction of Luffy, Sandy, and even Ace back in Alabasta was to cover their heads whenever Garp's name came up.
This old man was terrifying. And those punches—did they really hurt that much?
Later, Garp left with his Marines, leaving Koby and Bellamy to chat with the Straw Hats. Sandy passed out somewhere and fell asleep immediately.
Inside the room, Sanji brewed coffee and sighed. "Luffy's Grandpa's temper is like a thunderstorm."
Robin nodded. "The revelation about Dragon is astonishing. That bloodline is no ordinary heritage."
Chopper puffed his cheeks. "No wonder Sandy got beaten so badly. It's because of his bloodline!"
Zoro leaned back, eyeing the sleeping Sandy. "Is that really the reason? I think Sandy's bloodline is more headache-inducing than dangerous."
Sanji thought of Sandy's violent outbursts and shivered. Truly horrifying. But he still snorted, "Him? He looks like someone begging to be punched daily."
Chopper asked, "Where's Luffy?"
"Outside talking with Koby and the others," Zoro answered. "By the way, how can Sandy sleep so much? Didn't he sleep last night?"
Sanji groaned. "You seriously want to judge someone else? This guy Sandy has been eating nonstop for two whole days. I don't even know where all that food went. Oh right, aren't you going out? Aren't you friends?"
Zoro smirked. "It was Luffy who saved Koby."
"And Nami isn't here either," Chopper added. "She said she wanted to hear stories from the Marines."
"Mm… I can eat more… old man, that's mine, don't steal my food…" Sandy mumbled in his sleep.
Sanji's face darkened completely.
He, Sanji, had only slept for one night in two days—and Sandy still wanted to eat more!? Was he trying to kill the cook!?
