"Ah!!" Sandy clutched his head, sucking in a sharp breath. Same punch, same pain. What kind of monster was this old man Garp? His fists were still as brutal as ever.
"Grandpa? Grandpa!?" Luffy woke up, shouting in surprise.
"Grandpa!?"
Everyone yelled in unison.
Nami's eyes widened. "Could he be the legendary Navy Hero—Garp?"
"Pfft." Sandy wiped his nose, stood up, and muttered, "Hero my ass. This stinky old man has a rotten temper. Not only is he improper, he's shameless—always punching people for no reason."
BOOM!!
Garp slammed his fist into Sandy again. "Got a problem with that?"
Everyone turned their heads mechanically, eyebrows twitching.
"No way… Sandy got punched clear across the room?" Sanji blinked in disbelief.
"Grandpa!!" Luffy sat on the ground holding his head, staring at Garp in fear.
"Luffy," Garp glared, "You've really stirred up a storm, haven't you? Shouldn't you apologize to your old man?"
Marines nearby immediately whispered:
"Vice Admiral Garp's grandson!?"
"This is the first time I've heard that!"
Robin asked softly, "Luffy, is he really your grandfather?"
"That's right," Luffy said. "Don't ever fight him. I've almost been killed by him countless times."
Everyone felt a chill run down their spines.
"Hey, hey," Garp complained, "If you say it like that, people will misunderstand.
This old man threw you into a thousand-fathom abyss, exiled you to a hellish rainforest, tied you to a balloon and sent you flying into the sky—all to forge you into a strong man!"
Sanji deadpanned, fish-eyed. "Now I understand why Luffy's vitality is freakish."
"And in the end," Garp continued, "I asked a friend to let you train with Ace—though Ace secretly ran off to be a pirate.
Thinking you'd be lonely, I brought Sandy with you! And look at you two now. I planned to train you into powerful Marines!"
Luffy jumped up. "Didn't I always say I wanted to be a Pirate!?"
"You were led astray by Red-Haired Shanks! Bastard!" Garp snapped.
"Shanks is my savior! Stop talking nonsense!"
Garp grabbed Luffy by the collar. "You dare tell your Grandpa to stop talking nonsense?"
"Sorry!!" Luffy immediately bowed.
"Oh no, what do we do!?" Usopp panicked.
"This is bad! Luffy's been captured by the Navy. Sandy! Sandy, stop running—save Luffy!!" Chopper shouted.
Sandy was already tiptoeing toward the window like a thief. But Chopper calling his name froze him mid-step.
He slowly turned his head, cold sweat pouring down his face.
"Where are you going?" Garp asked calmly.
Sandy blurted, "Didn't you just arrive? I'm going to go buy groceries. Gonna treat you well—HEY!! LET GO OF ME, YOU STINKY OLD FOSSIL!!"
"Ohhh nooo!" Chopper panicked.
Sanji sighed. "What the hell is going on? They both completely lose the ability to resist in front of that old man."
Garp held one in each hand, then—
Zzzzz…
All three immediately fell asleep—Garp, Luffy, and Sandy.
"NANI!? THEY FELL ASLEEP!?"
A huge bubble popped from Garp's nose. Pop!
"Oh no! I actually fell asleep!"
Garp jolted awake, seeing the two sleeping soundly in front of him.
"You two! Wake up! How dare you sleep while being lectured!?"
"Ah—!"
"Old man, try hitting me again! Don't think I can't beat you—I'm just considering your age—Ahhh!!"
"Old man, are you reaching menopause!? Touch me again if you—OW OW OW!!"
Moments later, Luffy sat clutching his head, while Sandy lounged casually, picking his nose like nothing happened.
Seeing that, Garp's eyebrow twitched furiously.
Sandy realized, quickly removing his hand. "M-Mr. Garp… what brings you here?"
Garp sighed. "What did you tell me back then, huh? Didn't you swear you wouldn't become a pirate? Yet you ran off to sea with Luffy! And I hear you beat Vice Admiral 'Ghost Spider' nearly to death."
Sandy rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I beat him. You got something to say? Don't hit me—I'll go make you tea…"
Sandy didn't dare look Garp in the eye. After all, Garp once saved his life.
Running off to sea as a pirate with Luffy was disrespectful. But seeing Garp's attitude now, Sandy secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Don't be fooled—Garp hitting Luffy looked abusive, but it was absolutely full of care.
Only Garp and Luffy remained, talking quietly.
"Do you know how dangerous Red-Haired really is?" Garp asked.
"Shanks?" Luffy's eyes lit up. "Are Shanks and the others doing well? Where are they?"
Garp sighed. "Doing well? Among pirates countless as the stars, he is one of the four Emperors, ruling the New World like kings. The world calls them the Four Emperors.
And those who can oppose them are only the Navy Headquarters and the Seven Warlords of the Sea. If that balance breaks, the world collapses."
"Ah?" Luffy scratched his head. "You're making me dizzy. As long as they're okay. I'll never forget them."
Robin asked, "Does he know Red-Haired?"
Nami nodded. "His straw hat was given by Shanks. So he's really that famous."
Sandy rolled his eyes. "Old man's analyzing the world situation for Luffy so he doesn't die like an idiot. Right, you rotten fossil?"
Luffy sparkled. "Your brain is really useful!"
Suddenly, fighting sounds erupted outside.
It was Zoro—carried in by two Marines. Seeing the Marines surrounding the house, his blood instantly boiled.
"Oh?" Garp glanced back.
"That's Pirate Hunter Zoro," his deputy reported.
"A spirited one," Garp smiled. "You two, stop him."
Sandy quietly opened his [Pheromone System].
[Garp — SSS]
Sandy nearly fainted. Blinding pressure.
Garp noticed. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Drink your tea," Sandy said. "This tea isn't something just anyone can drink. Let's drink and watch…"
Outside, the ones facing Zoro and Luffy were Helmeppo and Koby.
It was unbelievable—months ago, Koby barely reached Luffy's waist, weak as a kitten. But now he could even use Shave, one of the Six Styles!
Naturally, they weren't opponents. Zoro and Luffy defeated them within seconds.
"Hahaha!" Garp walked out with his teacup. "No match at all."
Koby stood up, bowing. "Mr. Luffy, Mr. Zoro! Long time no see—do you still remember me?"
Luffy stared blankly. "Who are you?"
Koby smiled. "It's me—Koby. The crying weakling."
"EHHH!? You're Koby!?" Luffy gasped. "Even if it's puberty, this is too much! Growing that fast is terrifying!"
Sandy looked him up and down. "Old man, what did you feed him? He grew faster than a pig on fertilizer…"
When Koby saw Sandy, he brightened. "Mr. Sandy! Long time no see!"
CLANG—!!
Sandy instantly dropped the teacup and began walking stiffly, legs turned outward.
"Heheheh… You Marines are energetic, aren't you? Bullying poor innocent Pirates—such noble people…"
DUANG!!
Garp smacked him.
"I was imitating the guy next to Koby! Seriously!!"
"Wait—Sandy, you know him?" Luffy and Zoro asked.
"Hey, hey!" Helmeppo said proudly. "It's me!"
Luffy stared. "Who are you?"
Helmeppo removed his goggles dramatically. "Helmeppo! Captain 'Monka's' son! The man who sent you to the execution platform and nearly to the next world, Roronoa Zoro!"
Zoro's expression darkened instantly.
"Hehehe! Remember me now?" Helmeppo laughed arrogantly.
"Oh, so it was you," Luffy and Zoro answered flatly.
Helmeppo burst into tears. "They still haven't forgiven me, Koby!"
Koby sighed. "You have to accept your past."
He pulled Luffy aside to chat—but Garp grabbed Sandy before he could escape.
Sandy's face turned black. "Let go of me! Don't think I won't punch you!"
DUANG!!
Garp gave orders to the Marines. "Fix this wall."
The Marines complained, "How can you just order us!?"
"And if we need to fix it, why break it first!?"
Sandy snorted. "Is this your first day knowing him? This old man is willful as hell."
Then he glared at Garp. "Speaking of which—why didn't you come through the main door? Afraid of being seen? You shameful fossil."
DUANG!!
"It's cooler to enter this way," Garp explained proudly.
"…"
"Please don't break things because it's cool," a Marine said. "If we're fixing it, you help too."
"Huh?" Garp sighed. "Fine."
He picked Sandy up by the back of his collar.
"You're helping too."
"…"
Sandy wanted to cry.
