Chapter 113 - Chapter 112: Being Targeted

When Bellamy finished speaking, Sandy stood up with a calm expression.

"You know about the Knock Up Stream? Then tell me this — what if the current was powerful enough to send an island straight into the sky? Gravity would do the rest, keeping that island in orbit like a moon circling the Earth."

The room went silent for a moment.

"Huh? Did anyone understand what he just said?"

"No idea, but it sounds like he actually believes in Skypiea."

Laughter filled the tavern.

"Hahaha! Where did these idiots come from?"

Bellamy sneered.

"So, you saw a ship fall from the sky and decided Skypiea exists? Let me enlighten you. Those ships were caught by the rising current, carried high into the air, and then came crashing down into the sea.

"Those old navigators, who didn't know any better, saw ships falling from above and invented fairytales about a world in the sky!

Every strange phenomenon has a rational cause. The dreams you cling to are nothing but outdated delusions!"

Bellamy dropped into a chair, his grin widening.

"You people are hopeless. I was going to test your strength — maybe even invite you to join the new era. But you're just dream-chasing fools.

"The age of pirates chasing treasure is over! Gold Country, Emerald City, even the One Piece — all lies told to idiots too blind to see the profits right in front of them!

"Even those who once ruled the seas died chasing fantasies that never existed. People talk about them like it's noble — 'He lived in his dream, how happy!' Hahaha! What a joke!

"Whenever I see idiots chasing dreams, I get sick to my stomach!"

Before anyone could react, Bellamy suddenly lunged!

His fist shot toward Luffy's face—

—but Sandy caught it effortlessly.

Someone in the crowd gasped. "T-that's Storm D. Sandy ! Three hundred million bounty!"

Those who recognized the name immediately fell silent in fear, while Bellamy, oblivious, pressed forward.

He had only been told that a man with a straw hat worth 30 million had landed here — and assumed Luffy was his target.

Luffy frowned. "Sandy, this fight, we—"

Sandy already knew what he meant. Luffy didn't want to fight. To him, Bellamy was just a pitiful man trapped in his own small world — not worth punching.

But Sandy wasn't Luffy.

He didn't care whether Bellamy believed in Skypiea or not — but mocking and attacking people for having dreams? That, he couldn't stomach.

He hadn't come to sea to be someone's punching bag. He wasn't going to act like some saint, forgiving every fool who threw a punch.

"Get lost," Sandy muttered, grabbing Bellamy by the head and slamming it into the bar counter.

BANG!

"So noisy," Sandy said, dusting his hands. He turned to the crew. "Tolerate him if you want, but he swung first. That was scary…"

Zoro's eye twitched. "This bastard…"

Luffy's tone turned serious. "Sandy, if we fight like this… we lose."

Sandy blinked. "Lose what? If he came at you with a knife, you wouldn't fight back either? Forget it. This guy's just a punk. Hold on, I'll go kick him again—"

Nami yanked him away. "Enough! Let's get out of here before you start a war!"

Outside the tavern, the four regrouped.

Sandy was the first to speak. "Luffy, you guys go back to the ship. I'm being watched."

"Being watched?" Luffy tilted his head. "You need help?"

Nami frowned. "Is it one of Bellamy's friends?"

Sandy shook his head. "No."

Luffy simply nodded. "Alright. Be careful."

"Yeah." Sandy smiled faintly. He wasn't about to tell them who was following him — not when the ones watching were the Blackbeard Pirates, the same group Ace was hunting.

Right now, Luffy's crew wouldn't stand a chance against them.

Sandy slipped away, leading his stalkers toward a deserted area.

Through his Observation Haki, he could sense Van Augur already perched in position, rifle aimed and ready.

Moments later, two massive figures appeared — Jesus Burgess and Blackbeard himself, followed by a sickly-looking man on horseback, Doc Q.

Despite his frail appearance, Doc Q was in his twenties — his body ruined by the effects of the Sick-Sick Fruit.

"Wihahaha…" Burgess laughed. "Captain, leave him to me! I'm the Fighting Champion, wiha!"

"Zehahaha!" Blackbeard grinned. "Calm down, Burgess. The man's got a 300 million bounty — he deserves a little respect. Still… let's hope he doesn't crumble too fast."

Doc Q sighed between hiccups. "Ah… what a cruel twist of fate. Poor man. The moment the Blackbeard Pirates set their sights on him, his journey ends here… hiccup…"

Sandy crossed his arms, unimpressed. These clowns are seriously trying to make this dramatic?

He looked at them flatly. "You three done posing yet? You want my autograph or something?"

Blackbeard chuckled. "Storm D. Sandy, do you know why we came for you?"

Sandy smirked. "You're not here to treat me to that awful cherry pie, are you?"

Burgess laughed. "Captain, I like this guy! How about inviting him to join the Blackbeard Pirates?"

Doc Q wheezed, "If he joins us, what happens to the captain's plan? Fate's already spoken… hiccup…"

Sandy rolled his eyes. "You sound like a man halfway in the grave. You want to talk about fate? I can help speed yours up."

BANG!

Before he could finish, a gunshot rang out — Van Augur had fired.

Blackbeard barked up toward the rooftop.

"Augur! I said alive! If we hand the Marines a corpse, they won't pay us a damn thing! Don't screw this up!"
