The other side of the World.
It's the shadows hidden where sunlight can't reach, the opposite of the World's obvious surface, things ordinary people can't truly comprehend.
The other side of this World naturally refers to things that transcend ordinary human cognition, are closely related to the extraordinary, and are even born from the extraordinary. Superheroes are one of the representative products, after all, the current World is a fusion of Marvel and DC.
Yet, Vincent, who has been reincarnated into this World for sixteen years, despite learning about the birth and legendary journey of humanity's first Superhero, Captain America, from history books in elementary school, and hearing people around him mention the Dark Knight of Gotham City, Batman, who has watched over crime for more than ten years.
Despite the fact that a year and a half ago, the billionaire playboy who inherited Stark Industries created the Iron Man Suit, becoming the technological king of New York.
And a year ago, the Kryptonian raised on Earth, Superman, powerfully repelled a Kryptonian warship from outer space, transforming into a "God on Earth."
Even with the overwhelming news reports about Superheroes, and the endless daily gossip about them.
Vincent always felt that these extraordinary things on the other side of the World were very far from him.
This distance was like, in his previous life, because he had always lived in a peaceful superpower, although he occasionally learned from the news that modern wars were constantly occurring in some small countries on the other side of the Earth, this perception was very vague, unreal, and difficult to truly empathize with.
The distance between ordinary humans and the other side of the World is far more cruel than the class difference between slaves and nobles in ancient times.
After all, even with the saying, "the rich rely on technology, the poor rely on mutation." But whether it's technology or mutation, wanting to cross the critical point of normal cognition to reach or possess the extraordinary is an extremely rare probability among humanity, one in ten thousand.
Vincent gave up on becoming extraordinary many years ago, accustomed to living the life of an ordinary person.
Until tonight.
Vincent first unexpectedly gained an indescribable extraordinary power from his aunt, then encountered Spider-Woman with spider abilities outside the city, and now he even saw a green monster fighting fiercely with an elite army.
He had never, like tonight, truly glimpsed, or already had one foot in, the other side of this World.
"So many extraordinary things are hidden in the city I've always lived in?" Vincent's mouth curved into a bitter smile, feeling his worldview completely overturned.
But then he thought that the biggest extraordinary thing among them was his aunt, who had lived with him for more than ten years, and these things didn't seem like a big deal—just kidding.
Vincent was startled, watching the fierce battle unfolding in the nearby urban area, reinforced concrete buildings collapsing and shattering one by one, artillery fire spreading to every inch of the street, frost and snow falling from the night sky evaporating before hitting the ground, bullet casings and gravel replacing white snow scattered everywhere on the streets.
However, it was the human army that was always at an absolute disadvantage!
At the center of the city's battle.
Gatling guns mounted on special military vehicles glowed red, spitting fire, dense bullets like a steel torrent, concentrated into the deepest part where flames and smoke lingered. There was a green, giant-like monster, over two meters tall, with muscles like iron lumps, terrifyingly hard pale bones protruding, completely naked except for a pair of large shorts.
As if it were the materialized embodiment of terror and extreme evil.
One glance was enough to make one tremble from the bottom of their heart, an endless chill rising from their tailbone!
It also had a very fitting name.
Abomination!!!
Facing a hail of bullets, Abomination bounced back and forth between the buildings and ruins of the street, with a agility and speed completely unsuited to its bulky body, and as it moved quickly, it also displayed a strength capable of shaking the ground and the surrounding urban area!
Crushing the ground, shattering walls!
Abomination ignored the bullets that hit it without even breaking its skin, and directly, with thunderous force, leaped onto a special military vehicle, flattening soldiers and vehicles into crumpled tin. It casually picked up an abandoned taxi on the road, raised it over its head like a sandbag, and threw it twenty or thirty meters away to hit another military vehicle full of soldiers.
Modern cars, at this moment, were like children's toys!
Boom!!
A Rocket launcher, trailing flames, shot towards Abomination. Abomination raised his arm to block in front of him, and the explosion of flames instantly engulfed his body. The shockwave of the explosion shattered all the window glass of the buildings on both sides of the street!
But, but!
The next scene made all the surviving soldiers on the field despair.
Only to see that above the ground where the Rocket launcher exploded, high-temperature flames swept back along the white bones and green muscles, revealing Abomination's ugly and terrifying sneering face, like a demon, and his undamaged body.
The ensuing battle, no! It should be a one-sided slaughter, still ongoing!
"Is that Hulk?"
Vincent, watching this scene from afar, frowned. Compared to others who had only heard of the hero's name, he had the highest level of knowledge about Hulk.
After all, in his previous life, when he was studying, he had passed by a cinema and glimpsed a movie poster of Hulk hanging on the wall by the entrance.
"How is it not quite like the one in the poster? I remember Hulk had hair, and he wasn't this ugly."
"Could it be like me now, also a fake?"
Vincent didn't know that his guess had almost touched the truth.
However, whether it was a fake Hulk or not, the presence of this green monster brought him an extreme sense of danger!
Even if he fell from a dozen stories now, he wouldn't be injured, but encountering this monster... he might die!
His extraordinary perception made Vincent's judgment very sharp; this monster was a dangerous entity that could kill him in his current state!
"It's already very late. I'll just pretend I didn't see anything and go home. Auntie will worry."
Vincent averted his gaze, unwilling to look at the army being brutally slaughtered one-sidedly in the distance.
He never had the idea of becoming a Superhero; he only unilaterally yearned for the abilities of Superheroes.
As for "With great power comes great responsibility"?
If there was no danger to his life, Vincent would be very willing to help, but now it was a situation where he would be gambling with his life!
Having died once in his previous life, Vincent cherished his life immensely. In this life, the only person he would sacrifice his life to defend and protect was his aunt.
Gwen, barely the second person.
Vincent had just made up his mind to leave when, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a figure pass through the gaps between the tall buildings opposite, swinging on spider silk, flying towards the urban area two kilometers away that had become a battlefield.
It was Spider-Woman, whom he had just met on the rooftop.
"That guy, don't go over there!" Vincent's heart skipped a beat. Through their brief skirmish just now, he knew very well that Spider-Woman was no match for Abomination!
Their strengths were too disparate!
The outcome of Spider-Woman going to fight would most likely be only one, and that was death!
But it was too late to stop her.
Vincent could only watch helplessly as Spider-Woman's graceful and petite figure delved into the urban area where the sounds of gunfire were constantly fading.
"I'm sorry. I only have one life, and it can only be used for those two people at most!"
Vincent gritted his teeth, simply stopped looking, turned around, and leaped away in the opposite direction of the city battlefield!
