Normally, a protagonist would be backed by five or six companions, all working together to fight the big bad.
But she had already taken down three Stand users on her own—and now she was facing another seven, each with their own unique abilities.
So this was basically her, singlehandedly, 1v10.
In Stardust Crusaders, the final battle had been Jotaro vs. DIO, one-on-one.
In Diamond is Unbreakable, the finale had been Josuke and the others—six of them—vs. Kira.
In Golden Wind, Giorno's group had fought Diavolo four-on-one.
In Stone Ocean, Jolyne, Jotaro, and the others had gone five-on-one against the priest.
So how had it become her fighting ten people alone?
Am I the final boss or what?
"That one must be the boss," someone said.
"Wait, Ghiaccio. It's possible that woman helped take the boss down," another man argued.
"Ghiaccio's right. Whether she's an enemy or not, if we want to take his place, we have to eliminate her. We don't know her motives."
The white-haired man in front—Risotto Nero—spoke calmly.
"Miss Yu, they…" Exusiai tightened her grip on her submachine gun. She just started to raise it when Yu Yachen pulled her into an embrace.
"Don't stray too far from me, Exusiai."
Just like when she'd protected Alina, Yu said this softly.
She remembered all seven of their abilities.
The white-haired man, Risotto Nero—Metallica, control over iron, including the iron inside the human body.
The blue-haired man, Ghiaccio—a worn Stand that could drop the surrounding temperature to below zero.
The purple-haired man, Melone—Baby Face, a Stand that could dismantle and recombine a target.
The blond man, Prosciutto—The Grateful Dead, which aged all life within its range. This one was the most dangerous; Yu planned to take him out first.
The green-haired man, Pesci—Beach Boy, a fishing rod that could extend over great distances and hit with lethal force.
The black-haired man, Illuso—Man in the Mirror, which could drag people into a world inside a mirror.
And Formaggio—Little Feet, which could shrink objects and then restore them at will.
Flashy hair aside, their abilities were all deadly in their own ways. Each had a unique specialty, their endurance and fighting spirit were outstanding, and their hidden tricks were as dangerous as they were surprising.
If they fought together in earnest, even Diavolo would have no choice but to run.
On the other hand—if she could subdue them and use their power for herself, that would be very interesting.

Yu smiled.

"Lao Li," Yu called.
"Yeah?" he answered.
"You just need to fall back."
Twenty meters. Fifteen meters. Eight meters. They were close.
"The Grateful Dead!"

"Metallica!"
The three closest to them were the first to act. At the same time, Yu Yachen felt her skin beginning to wrinkle; a hook on the end of a fishing line shot toward her, and a foreign object scraped at her throat.
"Star Platinum—The World!"
The clock's frantic ticking filled the air. Yu stopped time.
Five seconds was long. Five seconds was enough for her to do a lot.
She could now sympathize, if only a little, with that blonde vampire who thought he could conquer the world with just nine seconds. If she had nine, she'd settle every enemy in an instant.
Star Platinum gave Lao Li's face a shove and flung him backward down the street. Yu didn't have the attention to spare to protect two people at once.

Yu ignored the system. She released Exusiai and stepped forward.
The muscular purple Star Platinum manifested as Yu appeared right in front of the blond man, Prosciutto.
"ORA ORA ORA ORA!"
Time resumed.
"Dragon Gate profanity!"
Lao Li's swearing came first from somewhere behind her. Then—

In the assassins' eyes, Yu Yachen vanished—and Prosciutto abruptly went flying. His chin took a direct hit; he rolled across the ground several times before lying still, unconscious.
The aging wore off. Yu looked at her own smooth, pale hands. She'd prioritized the ability that made people old because she had zero interest in becoming ugly.
"Prosciutto?!"
Ghiaccio's roar echoed through the street. A moment ago, the assassination squad had been ready to tear someone apart. Now they stood frozen in place.

Illuso's Man in the Mirror reflexively moved in front of him as cold sweat poured down his back.
"Time stop. I can stop this world's time for five seconds."
Yu turned to look at the scattered enemies. Star Platinum vanished, replaced by Killer Queen, who raised a finger to its lips in a shushing gesture.
"Time stop?! That's bullshit!" Ghiaccio shouted. "There can't be a second time-type ability! I've only ever heard of the boss—"
"Spread out! Don't get close to her!"
Risotto's hoarse voice cut across the street. The others immediately understood and began to retreat outward.

At the same time, Yu felt a sharp foreign sensation in her throat. She touched her neck and felt the outline of scissors bulging beneath the skin of her pale neck.

In less than ten seconds, the squad of seven was down to four.
"Anyone else want to try?"
