"Pietro, don't be rude to Mr. Xu Dan. We should at least show basic respect."
Pietro scratched his head awkwardly.
"I—I'm just too excited! I'll go run a lap first. You talk to Mr. Xu Dan!"
In truth, neither of them was particularly skilled at communication.
Their parents had died in war when they were very young.
Children who experience such trauma often grow up with emotional barriers. It showed subtly in how they interacted with others.
But compared to many others who lost their parents and grew up twisted by resentment, Wanda and Pietro had matured surprisingly well.
That alone was rare.
"Hello," Xu Dan said gently. "What's your name?"
Though he knew perfectly well, he couldn't simply reveal it.
"Wanda," she answered softly. "You can call me Wanda."
She seemed nervous.
Seeing Xu Dan up close was overwhelming.
Before, she had only seen him through low-quality videos or forum photos. He never posed seriously for pictures. He spent all his time creating for humanity—he had no interest in self-promotion.
Seeing him face-to-face felt surreal.
"So this is Xu Dan… this is really you…"
She murmured, her eyes shining with pure admiration.
She wanted to scream like a fangirl.
But she restrained herself.
She had to remain reserved.
Screaming wildly would only appear foolish—and she would feel embarrassed afterward.
Xu Dan let the divine power surrounding him dissipate, returning to an ordinary state.
"In truth, I'm just a normal person," he said lightly. "You can pretend you didn't see those abilities just now."
As the golden divine glow faded, his appearance returned fully to human.
And Wanda's pupils shifted slightly.
A faint blush rose on her cheeks.
Divine radiance repelled mortal emotions.
But once it vanished, what remained was simply a man.
A man with warmth. With presence.
"Mr. Xu Dan… you're very handsome."
"You don't have to say that," Xu Dan replied with a faint smile, touching the tip of his nose. Were girls this direct nowadays?
"Actually," he continued, "I came here to ask you something. Would you be willing to come with me? I'll take you somewhere. Of course, you'll still have your freedom."
If he wanted to bring Scarlet Witch to the underwater city, he had to invite her first.
No one would follow someone blindly into an underwater city without seeing it.
Wanda hesitated briefly.
Then she nodded.
"I think… I can go with you."
Her voice carried a strange mix of nervousness and excitement.
She had heard rumors that powerful men had unusual tastes.
Was it her turn now?
Strangely thrilling.
