Chapter 4 - Please, stop!

_

Xavier's POV

As soon as I entered the house, I saw Clara run down the stairs, with Ken the housekeeper, cautioning her to be careful and not fall.

But she refused to listen and ran towards me with her arms open, ready to be wrapped around me.

I immediately frown at her, letting her know I'm displeased and she paused just in front of me, her hands hanging in the air.

"I told you not to leave your bed, your body is still weak," I scold her, but she simply smile, used to my fierce tone of concern and went ahead to hug me.

"You're back. I missed you so much," she said, her hands barely reaching my back.

"I was gone for two days," I muttered, pulling away from her, and walked further inside the house.

Clara was my master's daughter. Until the moment he died, he didn't stop trying to help me break this death curse but didn't succeed until the end.

His daughter was also poisoned and there was no cure.

The fact that she could die anytime from now, because of me made me pamper her with everything.

"Where is Doctor Luke?" I questioned, loosening my tie.

"He said he had to visit his wife since it's being so long and left shortly after you did." Ken reported.

I furrowed, annoyed by his excuse.

"How long has it been since he was hired?" I asked thoughtfully.

"Three years now," Stephen answered.

I raised my brow, surprised it's been that long already and he has remained useless.

"Inform him not to bother coming back, and find someone else who is more competent." I ordered.

"Yes, Alpha." Stephen replied.

"No, Xavier, I don't want to have another doctor," Clara protested, placing her hand in mine.

I pulled back gently, but she continued to protest.

"I'm fine with spending my last days with you," she said then coughed lightly.

I immediately rub her shoulder worried.

"I promise I won't let you die," I said firmly.

"I'm already satisfied to have you care so much about me. I want nothing more than that." Clara grinned, and placed her head on my shoulder.

"It's what I should do," I muttered, letting her.

This time, I must find someone competence.

As the thoughts escaped my mind, I felt a sudden eerie and my wolf surged, awakened forcefully.

Clara also felt the change in me and pulled away surprised.

"What is it?" she asked but even I, am confused.

I rose slowly, my heart thudding fast, and I placed a hand on my chest to stop the strange, gnawing sensation inside me.

I closed my eyes briefly, feeling irritation and anger ripple through me and I heard that same voice again.

This time, it was desperate.

'She is in danger' Black growled.

I turned sharply to Stephen, the noise in my head growing louder.

"Where did you place her?" I roared, losing control.

Stephen stood, shocked to see my eyes completely turned and answered quickly.

"I told the guards to place her in a single cell," he replied.

Clara stood up, and tried to touch me but I slapped her hand away blindly.

"I meant for her to be locked up in a room, not with prisoners." I snapped dangerously and Stephen stared back perplexed but Black became impatient and my head snapped upward.

A cry sliced through my mind, sharp and terrified, clawing at my insides.

My wolf lunged forward violently without warning like he can't wait to get to her.

My body trembled as my teeth elongated and my skin tore as bone and sinew shifted.

My wolf broke free in a violent ripple and black fur burst across my body, expanding until my Lycan stood on all fours, massive, and furious.

I never unleashed my wolf in the house, because of how fierce he is and Clara fell back in fear.

In a blur, Black bolted out the door. The stones cracked beneath my claws as its growl thundered across the courtyard.

I followed the faint sound to a detached part of the dungeon and I found her scent easily.

Raina's POV

I walked for a while in silence until we reached a quiet space. Then without warning, both guards turned on me.

I retraced my steps, immediately looking for a way of exit but realized that they bought me here because there was none.

The both of them loomed over me, their shadows blotting out the weak light in the room, and I thought to shift but my wolf's strength would never be able to fight off two guards.

Instead, I resort to the most ridiculous option, screaming.

My outburst seemed to rile them off, and one of them hurried to my side, and delivered a punch to my face.

I fell back from the force, and groan in pain, the chains on my hands straining me.

They immediately pinned me down, and forced my back against the wall, one of them digging his claws into my thin arm.

I tried to fight, but my strength was nothing compared to both of them. I continued to push I protest to them to stop but that earned me another kick in my stomach.

The place bruised instantly and I felt a sound ring in my ear, telling me my end might have come sooner than expected and the coat on me was stripped off, revealing the laced underwear once more.

"Stop! Please!" I whimpered, my wrist numb from their tightened grip and my body hit the cold floor.

The guards only smirked, enjoying my struggled and cries.

"The breeder wolf wants to play," they mocked, reaching for the hook of my bra but before they could succeed with that, a loud sound of the door falling exploded and they paused.

Almost immediately, a large, fierce Lycan filled the doorway like a massive shadow wrapped in rage.

He growled, shaking the walls and everyone of us inside it.

The guards froze, their bodies rigid with fear as they seemed to recognize who it is.

"K…King Xavier," they stammered, letting go of me.

In a blur, the Lycan ran to us, and his jaws clamped down on the neck of the guard that touched my clothes, ripping a scream from him as blood gushed and he fell to his death.

I gasped as his blood splattered on me and moved back, horrified.
