"BITCH! BITCH! BITCH! BITCH! BITCH!"

He was screaming. Not at the top of his lungs; he didn't have lungs, after all.

"Chi-using bastard, how did an American end up becoming the Iron Fist?" the demon asked, floating around the hideout.

It was a rundown apartment complex. A place for the lost and those who didn't want to be found. Evil men and women who engaged in the art of modern-day slavery. At that moment, some poor, drugged-up girls saw the ghostly apparition of the demon and were dismissed due to the drugs they'd been given. The ghostly figure shuddered as a man in a red trench coat approached him. He had white streaks in his red hair and was holding a rolled-up newspaper. Although the drugged victims feared the ghost, they were terrified of the man. They saw a silhouette around them: that of a red-skinned demon in a cloak.

"Now, now, demon, let's not get carried away by stereotypes. You don't have to be Asian to be a good fighter, and I'm sure Lei Kung isn't picky about students. You destroyed the building; that's a lot of hidden evidence, especially if the police and the agency don't know what to look for. As for the boy, well, my daughter has been wanting to make friends," said the man in the red coat.

As he spoke, a red-haired girl appeared behind him, showing disdain for the treatment of women.

"Can I keep your soul?" he asked.

"Honey, you can do whatever you want to him," the man in the red coat smiled as he snapped his fingers and both demonic entities disappeared.

"Peter, Peter, wake up Peter," his vision began to clear.

And the first thing he saw was George Stacy's disapproving look. Peter groaned as he got up from the floor, seeing the mask in George's hand.

"Teleporter, it felt like my body was scrambled like eggs," Peter muttered.

"That would be Wraith , a member of Force X, the MRD's personal capture squad for mutants they can't stop," George said.

"Oh no, the boy is him..."

" Tolansky escaped, but someone shot his mother, and the Angel was captured. Last time I checked, they were heading south; you could catch them if you hurry," George explained.

"I don't know what to say, thank you," said Peter.

"If you want to thank me, call her, she misses you Peter," George said.

His voice wasn't that of the captain, nor that of the senior professor he had been moments before. To Peter, he sounded like what he was to him: the father of the woman he loved. Peter nodded, took the mask, and put it on.

—Oh, one more thing, hit me, George ordered.

"That will do wonders for my reputation!"

"Better your reputation than my work."

Peter sighed before punching George in the face. Soft enough to not hurt him, but hard enough to make it feel like he'd knocked him out. As George shouted his way out, Peter began swinging with his web as fast as possible. He ran and jumped over rooftops, then swung between them. He could hear sirens behind him; one of them, obviously, was George. They were chasing him with revenge. But they could also act as additional distractions for the MRD.

"It seems like years since we've talked," Peter thought about him, and that inevitably led him to think about her.

A beautiful, intelligent, and passionate blonde girl, undoubtedly George Stacy's daughter. The affectionate kisses they used to share, and then that goodbye kiss.

—Gwen, I hope you find happiness in London. —He landed on a rooftop, expanding his vision to the roads.

He could see them, "feel" them in a way with his spider-sense. In addition to acting as an instant alert sense, Peter could use it to some extent to track people. Peter zeroed in on the MRD truck, one large enough to accommodate someone with a wingspan like Angel's. Applying webbing to his armpits, Peter formed a sort of makeshift wingsuit. He then dived, propelled by the wind on a trajectory that would flank the MRD transport. People looked to the sky in awe at the "flying" Spider-Man.

"Someone played Far Cry ," a pedestrian muttered.

Spider-Man focused his optics, aiming at the van. With his extensive knowledge of current technology, Peter identified the vehicle. It was designed to be resilient, but not unstoppable.

"You have to hit the right spot, time it right," he stood up, spreading his wings and coiling in the air.

Using webs that he shot at the buildings on either side, Spider-Man launched himself like a slingshot toward the SUV. He slammed his feet into the SUV, so hard it flipped onto its side. Still strapped to the side, Peter steered the vehicle as it slid down the street to the sidewalk. There were still people on the streets, but the road was clear. He ripped open the door, his Spider-sense on edge, as gunfire erupted. The MRD agents had opted to use their weapons first, so Peter jumped back onto the side of the vehicle. He waited, web -shooters ready, as the MRD agents began to file out.

"Thanks for lining up so conveniently, pop, pop, pop!" said Spider-Man as he fired a web at each of the men as they exited. "Pop, RELOAD!" he clicked as he replaced a web cartridge, rolled to the back of the vehicle, and snatched the gun from another guard. "Just kidding, I never liked those games, give it back," he swung the rope, hitting the man with the gun.

"I always preferred platformers," he jumped back into the truck, kicking the driver as he tried to get out with his rifle.

"Hey, angel, I'm here to rescue you. In the few minutes we met, our chemistry was so great we could be the next Poe and Finn," Peter jumped into the back of the vehicle and looked inside.

Not finding any angel there.

"Okay, this is embarrassing," he muttered.
