I watched Edriel laugh as the girls all fell.
I didn't need to ask anyone what type of person Eddie had become, it was obvious My Sweet Edriel had become a total playboy.
I walked to the car, Only then did I discover he was standing against the door to the passenger seat.
" Sorry I'd like to get in" I said with my head down.
" Ellie? Is he your... "
Wow, I never thought anyone at the school knew my name.
" Boyfriend?" Another girl completed.
" My co..."
" Boyfriend " Edriel said and opened the car door leaving me dazed then he took my arm which felt weird and I got into the car and he got in after me.
" Drive" he said and the driver drove.
" Why did you...?"
" It's not a big deal and plus I needed saving from those girls"
" You looked like you needed no saving" I said looking at the window.
" And you looked like you were jealous"
I looked at him sharply.
" Hey I wasn't!"
" Careful there. Seriously, do you still have problems managing your anger?"
" Yeah so bear with it" I said angrily.
Who was he to comment on my anger?
Who was he to judge me?
" That's not a pretty trait in a lady"
"Thanks!" I said fiercely.
"It was not a compliment Ellie, can I explain the difference between a compliment and an insult?"
I glared at him and he laughed.
" You don't know how to joke do you? " He said then he sighed. " Wrong cousin "
I folded my hands.
We didn't talk all the way home. He only talked to the driver.
They talked about the places we passed, the best restaurants, the best lounges and stuff like that.
I sighed.
I was forced to pack immediately I got home.
I wanted to leave it till night, then finish it up at dawn but Aunt Beatrice forced me to do it.
I was in a sour mood until I remembered the reign girls.
" You'll finally be a part of the reign girls and once you join, it'll officially be called The Reign Triangle. Finally... I've got friends! Friends... Friends! " I said to myself and giggled.
" First, I'll need clothes of all colors since Mia and Sissy love pretty colors"
I packed lots of clothes and ate lots of junks as I decided which clothes to wear.
Finally, I slept and while sleeping Edriel telling the mums that he was going out with his friends floated into my dreams and shortly, I woke.
It was night already. As I stumbled to the mirror, I saw the mess on my head I called hair and I sighed.
I changed into pyjamas and took my brush and spread toothpaste on it then I went down the stairs brushing.
There was a washing hand basin at the back of the house and God knew it was cool breeze I needed at the moment.
I didn't even understand why I felt so slow and heavy.
I went and sat on the bench in front of the trimmed flowers and I brushed my teeth as slowly as possible.
I looked at myself in the small mirror I took with me.
I looked horrible.
My hair was tangled. Just imagine specks and brushes of gold in between black.
My hair always managed to do just that.
Sleep for a while and it'd become a tangled mess.
I always hand brushed it before brushing it with a brush.
*Ellie, you look disgusting* I thought.
My hair was one thing but the lather coming from my mouth due to brushing was worse.
I stood to make my way to the basin to rinse my mouth and my toothbrush.
" Uh, everywhere is so boring hasn't anyone arrived?
Then a phone's flashlight was flashed at my face and I put my hand to my face to block the light, then Christa came out and came to me.
" What are you doing here in the dark?" She asked looking around.
" Brushing and who's pointing the torchlight?"
" Probably Eddie " she said and I almost jumped remembering the horrible way I looked.
"Hang on, I'll turn on the lights" she said moving over to the left and then the lights came on and I saw Edriel with two handsome guys.
Wow.
He sure knew the kind of friends to move with.
These guys were nothing like the ones at school.
" That's her, Ellie " I heard Edriel say and Christa made a weird sound and I looked at her. She was trying not to laugh.
" You probably don't know how you look right?" She said with fake concern.
I walked to the basin and rinsed my mouth awkwardly and my brush and left in a hurry.
What an embarrassment!
Why did this have to be the first sight of me those guys would see.
And they were so handsome.
I bit my lip in a pout
First impression lasts.
What first impression did I make?
" Elle ... Our family members are arriving! It took them so long" she said smiling then immediately went back to her mature mode. " Took them long enough" she said.
" Who were those guys?" I asked even though I knew perfectly well they had to be his friends.
" Eddie's friends. Drake and Ash"
" Oh jeez how do I look?"
" As horrible as a lazy tortoise" she said casually.
As I turned the corner, I stopped.
People I hadn't seen in years were coming down from different cars, everyone looked happy as they greeted themselves.
My heart went bang in my chest.
"What would I say? Good day, no, this isn't day"
" My sister's a cat, cute but shy"
" They're my family members, how would I be shy? "
Christa walked towards them and they all greeted her warmly and asked questions, and I followed after her.
They looked at me scrutinising me from up to down, wondering how much I'd changed.
Then when I got closer, I saw more of them.
" Hey Ellie! looking beautiful " My uncle said
Surely an Irony.
The children were looking at me like they saw a ghost and one whispered loudly...
" My God, Why does she look so ugly? its creepy"
I snorted as I looked at him with daggers in my eyes and he hid behind his mom and then my mom and Aunt Beatrice laughed.
they were laughing at my look and I managed to greet them all and exchange hugs before escaping.
" Oh my... all my family, I'm shy, so shy"
My Grandparents had three daughters and two sons all of which had children either not up to my age or over 19.
Grand mum and grand pa weren't around yet, maybe they were to arrive the next day.
I though of operation getting that boy and my heart thumped.
Gosh, back to sleep Ell.
I slept off and when I woke up, I got a message.
"Colour code: white, blue jean and sneakers"
This was getting real.
I checked my cupboard for jeans and white frantically, this was going to be my first matching outfit with the reign girls.
I pulled out a white short-sleeved one-armed top and I wore high- waisted jeans.
I let my hair down and it was beautiful, sprayed perfume and wore chunky sneakers and then I went downstairs and almost everyone looked at me, like I was a goddess.
Too bad Eddie and his friends weren't there.
And then the door bell rang and my grandparents came in.
Almost all the children except me hugged them.
I stood there feeling shy amongst all the faces I hadn't seen in years, I loved my grand mum...
When we started to talk, we were like sisters.
I waited behind and immediately the last of the children left, I ran and hugged her
" Oh my Ellie!" She exclaimed as we hugged and then we retreated.
" You look beautiful and you're all grown" she said and kissed me all over my face.
" Have you seen your crush?" she whispered and I blushed and she smiled and left.
I had told Granny all about Edriel and my crush on him, she was the one I shared everything with.
A while later, I went to the garden and then I went out the gate and I saw the reign girls coming down from a car and then they came close... they were beautiful! Breathtaking...
Mia wore a spotless white designer shirt and tied it at the belly and she wore long high waist crazy jeans and fitted sneakers while Sissy wore a jean crop top and white high waist denim shorts with chunky boots. her tummy looked smooth and then she had a sunglass on and their hair was packed in a ponytail
they came to me and hugged me and our colours rhymed.
Immediately, Mia brought out an hairbond then she packed my hair into a pony tail.
"Ready?" Sissy asked
" Yeah" I and Mia said and I went inside first...
" The kids are in the music room " My mum told me.
"Meet Mia and Sissy everyone"
Everyone stopped.
" We'll do the introductions, get us chilled water first " Granny said and I went to the kitchen and by the time I returned they were already talking and laughing together and then with me at the front, I , Mia, and Sissy walked into the Music room like stars and everyone stared at us. When Edriel and his friends saw us, their jaws dropped.
we were simply breath taking.
