Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

*First time writing and I've only written one chapter, sry ;) More coming tho! *

Ling woke up, rolled off his old sofa bed and sat up. He looked up at the person sleeping so soundly next to him and sighed while pushing himself off the ground to wake them.

He gently shook the man's shoulder, trying quietly to get his attention but ended up just walking out the door. He didn't have time to humour a one night stand because if he was even a minute late to work, his boss might actually explode. In fact, he should probably try to be early.

Once he arrived and sat down at his desk his boss began his angry march towards him. Ling immediately began to bite his tongue, just that man's faced pissed him off. He couldn't wait for a promotion, to actually earn money and never see that stupid face again.

Ling's boss, San was an angry person, especially towards ling. Maybe he was jealous of his indesputable good looks but it didn't really matter because he was greeted with a hard slap to the face, which actually pushed him back a little. It caught him off guard, getting hit at 9 in the morning. He looked up at his aggressor and glared, before asking "Is there a problem boss?"

"In my office now."

Ugh god, now he had to get up.

He pushed himself up from his desk and hurriedly shuffled behind San towards the office. Everyone was looking, murmuring, and he'd never felt more self conscious. He usually flew under the radar at work but today he was the center of attention.

Ling's workplace was actually a branch for some shady organisation that even he barely knew about, all he did was count numbers which he had no context for. He knew whatever he was doing was illegal but it didn't really matter to him because he got paid a little better than most.

But now he was thinking, perhaps his shitty boss was not worth it at all. Normal office workers don't get beaten up every other week.

When they got to the office, San kicked Ling's shin, forcing him onto the floor. And of course, added another slap for good measure. LIng thought that even if he said anything he would get in trouble, so he kept quiet and looked down. But he could feel san's glare burning down his back.

After the lingering silence began eat away at Ling, he looked up and apologised, getting slapped again might actually leave a mark.

"What have I done wrong?" He blinked, trying his very best to look remorseful. Clearly, San wasn't convinced but he did get down on one knee, bringing himself to eye level.

"Actually, you're getting a promotion." San smiled "A couple men quit on us, so you're stepping in. I nominated you, you're welcome" Ling could tell he wasn't actually being nice. There must've been a catch to whatever kind of deal this was but he still singed some papers.

The only thing he read was the raise and bonus amount.

Ling walked home that day, he didn't live far but it was a long enough walk to get him home in time for bed, which was exactly where he went when he got through the door. He rolled over, scrolling on his phone, as he reached for the beer on his bedside table.

He was surprised how well work had gone that day, it started off a little rough, sure, but he came out the other side with a promotion and an extra bonus.

He finished the half empty can and called Er (his good friend) to meet for some drinks at his house.

By the time Er arrived Ling was still in the shower but the beer was on the table, collecting condensation on its surface. Er opened a can and sat on the sofa. It felt even less sturdy than before, sagging under him as he put his weight on it. God, Ling needed a raise, he thought, he's been at the same company for years and worked ever time so often.

And he needed a new sofa.

Ling finished up in the shower and got out with just a towel around his waist. He sat down next to Er.

"Why'd you call me?" Er took another drink of the beer in his hand but Ling couldn't help but notice the empty cans on the table.

They talked about Ling's good news from work and his boss and all the over time and just their monotonous lives, but also that fact that Ling didn't even know what his new job was yet.

"You didn't read anything or check!?" Er was absolutely flabbergasted. He knew the nature of Ling's company, and even though he was only an accountant, he was never far from some kind of trouble.

Ling thought for a minute and brushed his black hair back with his fingers, Er watched as he took another sip of beer. Why was his hair so silky? So smooth yet enough volume to hold it's shape? His eyes wondered down, Ling wasn't a big guy but he worked out and and had a good figure. The water was still dripping out his hair, each droplet rolled over his chest and abs perfectly sculpting everything over his pale skin.

"I doubt it's gonna be particularly fun, San hates me." He opened another can of beer, "I hope it's not too difficult though. I don't want to get in trouble more often than I already do... " Ling took a sip and leant back.

His shoulder was a little too close now.

"Why don't you go get changed, I'll order food." Er stood up abruptly and walked to the kitchen. His heart was in his ears and each breathe felt like he was suffocating. Ling got up too, he felt the tension from Er, so he went to change. He hadn't realised his lack of clothes was bothering Er.

After eating pizza and chatting Ling went to bed and Er left. While in bed, he scrolled through his contacts to Si from the night before and called him.

When he arrived they were already kissing as the door shut behind them. It was feverish as they fumbled with their clothes slamming against the walls as they made their way to the living room, even knocking over the empty cans of beer.

"Where'd you go yesterday?" Si huffed, getting the words out between breaths.

"Mmmm, work" Murmured Ling as he pulled their heads closer, wrapping his arms around the man's slender waist, pushing him onto the bed as he took off his shirt.

Ling climbed up his legs from the end of the sofa bed, feeling, touching his thighs, hips, bum, waist, chest all the way up to his small face trailing kisses and peppering him with red marks. Licking his nipples while Si squirmed under him, craning his neck back, trembling slightly.

He pushed his hand through Si's brown hair, a similar shade to Er and brought himself to eye level by leaning on one arm above his shoulder.

Ling suddenly sat up, and steched, recalling last night. He was tired but felt refreshed, and turned to see Si's face on the bed. Er hadn't even asked to sleep on the bed last night.

"Hey, wake up... I need to go to work, I got a promotion. "

"Oh really? That's nice..." Si trailed off, closing his eyes again. Ling walked over to the kitchen and started the kettle before changing into his suit.

It was old but stylish, with ever so slightly worn cuffs and elbows, but nothing worth more paying money over. He shouted bye into the apartment and shut the door behind him.

Once arriving at the office he was immediately siphoned off by San to the top floor. He'd never actually been that high, it was restricted access. As they walked along the corridor, Ling noticed the red carpet covering the floor and the loud echo of their footsteps in the maze of doors they were walking past. He was nervous, but still, stood taller with confidence hoping that his posture could convince himself.

They entered a small meeting room that had glass walls with an oval shaped wooden table in the middle, the wood was dark and smooth stretching across most of the room and there were a couple chairs dotted around but everyone was standing.

There was five other people in the rom, all wearing expensive looking suits that didn't even crease as they bowed to Ling, which actually caught him off guard a little. Why were they bowing?

San spoke up first, "Ling, this is your new team. Congrats. " He said sarcastically, "Your new job is to retrieve information."

Ling looked at the men in front of him, he wasn't even short (a respectable 6'1), but they were taller and bigger, you could clearly see their muscles through their clothes.

After discussing the new job and going through the details and formalities, Ling couldn't help but think that he was in no way qualified for this. Sure, he had an incredibly impressive blue belt in taewkondo, but he hadn't even touched it for at least 25 years.

Not only that, but it sounded impossible, he was to intercept and steal some kind of important briefcase from the competing company while it was being moved by car, without being seen at all. Even the men around him looked a confused, the task was so stupis that it seemed like there was no point to this mission.

San didn't tell him what was in the briefcase or why, he only said where and when he should intercept and left Ling and his men to figure out the logistics.

And so they did, the plan was simple; when the car stops and the man carrying the breif case gets out, Ling would grab his neck and someone else would snatch the case and they get away by car, which would be waiting no more than 5 meters away. It all sounded good and well in Ling's head but he couldn't help but feel like it wasn't going to go to plan.
