Several hours later, Zion finally returned to his residence.
Callista was still sitting at the stone table in the courtyard. The night was already deep, and the soft moonlight filtered through the branches above her. When she noticed Zion returning, she raised her eyes and gave him a faint smile.
"You seem to have been quite busy today. You're only coming back now."
Zion nodded.
"Of course. I'm not like you, an idle princess with nothing to do all day."
Callista was not offended. Instead, she chuckled.
"Have you eaten? I had someone prepare dinner."
"Then I'll see whether your chef is as good as you claim."
Callista smiled and clapped her hands.
Not long afterward, servants carried out one exquisite dish after another. The fragrance of freshly prepared food quickly spread through the courtyard, and even Zion found himself looking forward to the meal.
He had just picked up his utensils when something warm and damp suddenly landed on top of his head.
Zion stopped.
